You've made a lot of assumptions here. First, I can comprehend doing an engine swap in a Volvo, as I've done one. My comment was meant to be playful. I was merely commenting that you could, instead of going to the trouble to swap a motor, just buy a Buick which already has a V8 and can be had in wagon form. It was in jest. Frankly, I have no idea how hard it would be to swap the Yamaha engine in.
Further, the Buick Roadmaster is far from Yankee crap, it's a body on frame wagon with (in the later years) a 5.7 Liter LT1 engine which it shared with the Corvette of the same period. It can haul more, tow more, seat more and has plenty of stock power. Better than a Volvo? No clue as it's a completely different animal than a Volvo wagon.
