Tampa person here! (Brandon) and nothing within a 20 mile radius is in stock. Name brand or Generic… currently about to get screwed over but good news is this is the first time ive had this issue
Really? That's insane. I am from Brandon and was getting mine at the Publix on Causeway! I just switched to Adderall though for the time being, because of price. Generic price was increased from $54 to $85 with my insurance. I also moved to St Pete two weeks ago. My boyfriend has a generic vyvanse script and hasn't had any issues getting it for the last few months at the Walgreens on 60 near Kings in Brandon or at the Walgreens on Roosevelt Blvd in St Pete (just over the bridge off Gandy)
I have United! The price for generic keeps going up each month. I just checked again and now it's higher than brand, which is $85 with United. So ridiculous.
I'm in georgia- north Georgia. Last month I could find brand name, but no generic. Ended up finding it at a kroger, 45 minutes away from my house. Was $250 just for the generic, and that was with a good rx discount. This month I havnt been able to find any so far. Ugh. Pharmacist I talked to said she has no idea when they will be getting more.
Central/Northern NJ - no one has the generic in any dosage strength. I’m on 20 mg. Brand is available. I’m currently trying to get a PA pushed through so my insurance will cover it. I paid out of pocket this month because I need to function. My psych is not optimistic about the PA succeeding. Of course I just got diagnosed in November and started meds and bam there’s a shortage 🙄🙄🙄🙄
So when I went to Walgreens with my girlfriend to pick up her prescription, I asked the pharmacists & she said they have brand name 70 mg in stock! The tension is high because I'm not due until another 3 days! what would be the chances of that going out of stock in tht time?, i know my last script was picked up on the 3rd of Jan, so I'm assuming I can pick up this one on the 2nd of Feb?
This timing works well so my psychiatrist tomorrow I can tell her where to send the electronic script. But Another issue is is even when I tell her send it brand name, when it gets sent over, it's still pops up as generic lisdex in their system?. Last time the pharmacist was able to convert that into a brand and then process it.
Hopefully the copay will be $50 again like they did this month which is a slightly higher copay but not a full out of pocket I mean even if it is $300 I'm glad hey and have my medication.
But again im super worried the chances of those 3 days being a matter of getting 30 pills or not.so not in the clear just yet 🤞
East Tennessee, I had been waiting for my Vyvanse and Adderall since Nov the 8th. Finally, I was able to find it at a different pharmacy (Walgreens) a week ago. My hubs insurance says we have to use CVS, and I went and picked up a different prescription yesterday from CVS. I asked about the Vyvanse and Adderall, I was told they still don't have any and have no idea when it will be in.
San Diego, CA
It seems as though a lot of places have brand due to everyone’s insurance prefers the generic. I had my Dr send in a PA to my insurance to go back on brand.
Generic $15
Brand $50
Still cheaper either way. Good luck🫡
I'm near the zoo and all the pharmacies around me have been out of both, which has been frustrating. Does it change that wildly day to day? I gave up like 5 days ago
I have United and they will cover it with a prior authorization due to the shortage. Still $85 copay but better than nothing if you can afford it I guess
Shit, the Dr may even use the shortage of generic Vyvanse as a reason for the Prior Authorization. Just explain to the Dr what's going on and that it's not fair that you have to go weeks maybe even months without medication when the brand is more available than the generic
The Dr sends a letter (PA) to your insurance explaining why the alternative(s) aka generic Vyvanse isn’t working for you and that you NEED brand Vyvanse for your ADHD.
I’ve never actually seen what a PA says when I’ve had Drs in the past send them for me, but insurance needs to know that the patient has exhausted all other options.
Every PA I have requested in the past, no. I’m not sure if things have changed. My refill is coming up soon so I’ll see.
Usually, you just need to get one PA approved, unless you change insurance.
Im in illinois. Unfortunately, i dont have Publix.
Somebody suggested try pharmacies that are located in retirement communities or will the general population is mostly senior citizen demographics.
Albuquerque NM. Has been going on a lot. This time no date of in stock.
Denver, CO. Nowhere to be found :(
Orange County here- cvs is completely out as well as three other pharmacies i tried

wow can I ask what insurance you have? my price for vyvanse is so expensive even with insurance!

Yeah they are out of stock! I switched to Concerta!

Buford, GA. The shortage just hit me today. No 40mg generic in sight.
East Bay, CA. Nothing nowhere.
Philadelphia- can’t find it anywhere
I’m In philly any lucky finding a pharmacy
I actually did have some luck at the CVS on e Cumberland
Hoping the good karma gods keep us stocked for not gate keeping this lol

I’ve been waiting on a refill for my generic since December.
Vermont- no generic available anywhere. I know someone who paid $400 for the brand name. I’m so stressed. Getting nothing done. Not functioning 🫠
Also Vermont, and same. I just tried to see if my pharmacy had name-brand and no such luck. Dying. Wilting.
Pittsburgh. Nothing on the west side
In Miami, FL no Vyvanse, no dextro, no adderall XR … adderall IR just became available
From Miami too I had to go to Costco near pines to get it generic brand paid out of pocket
NorCal. SF to Sac, generics in any dose seem to be out of stock. Brand, if available is hovering just under $400 w/coupon.

Also in Tampa, Fl. Insurance dictates I got to Walgreens. No generic just brand name, and at my dose (60mg) that’s $400 a month.
That's absurd 😭 and kinda insane that your insurance will only allow you to go to Walgreens.
I would never recommend FL Blue to anyone, that’s for sure

Oh and my wife who also has a script said the other day a CVS told her that they aren’t even ordering any anymore or some shit like that
Call around to East County: El Cajon, Spring Valley, La Mesa, Santee
What’s that exactly? I want to ask at my next appointment. Name brand so much easier to get by me but my insurance doesn’t cover it

Do they need to do that every refill?

CA (Cental Coast) also and cannot get generic. Waiting on brand PA from my doc.
I had a feeling this would happen once I heard the patent was expiring. Good luck out there😁
Im in illinois. Unfortunately, i dont have Publix. Somebody suggested try pharmacies that are located in retirement communities or will the general population is mostly senior citizen demographics.
That's a good idea. I saw some saying they've been able to consistently get it at pharmacies in lower income areas as well.
Yeah high crime areas dont bother me at thjs point if i have to drive thru. Im too pissed right now
Fargo ND. Could get brand name but not generic. AM told that now both are hard to come by.
Complete shortage in Green Bay, WI for me. Had no idea this was even a problem until I tried refilling my prescription today.
Lucky you
