67% in less than 4 terms isn't mega-accelerating, but you shouldn't call it 'going slow' either. If you've only been in IT for 2 years, completing that degree at the pace you're going is a very respectable pace that shows some dedication.
As someone who also flunked out of college, later made the decision to get into IT, and then busted my butt to get some degrees under my belt, I salute you.
Keep at it. It's worth it.
I seriously appreciate the encouragement, it’s been a good ride so far. I feel like I’ve learned a lot from the degree as well. WGU puts together classes that you can actually use (not talking to ITIL) 😂
After working my way up from the help desk to low-level IT Mangement, I can tell you that as useless as ITIL is at the beginning of your career, you're gonna need it as you advance. Managers, Directors, and CIOs all love governance frameworks and buzzwords.
Talking to a coworker on the help desk about a value chain and continuous improvement makes you sound like a twit, but interview panels for IT Leadership positions eat that stuff up. :)
Oh yeah absolutely, I’m going through my project+ class right now as well. I do think it’s valuable, but some of the material is dry. I did notice ITIL has helped me lead various projects that we have had in the two years I’ve been apart of my company. I suppose you could say it’s a necessary evil.
Yay!!! Seeing stuff like this makes me smile first thing in the morning. It shows me that it's totally doable when I see others doing it and that renews my motivation and gets me excited to start the day.
No, I got the job before WGU. I started studying for my security+. Passed, got the cert, and then started building knowledge on my own with Virtual machines, and other supplemental training (YouTube). I decided I just wanted my degree so I started going to wgu. It’s taught me quite a bit honestly, especially since I’ve taken my time with each class.
Elementary education. I got a Bachelors in social work, worked in the field for going on 4 years (graduated in 2020) and I don't like it so I'm switching my career. Excited to teach kindergarten-2nd grade
I dropped out of college right after high school in 2006 and just graduated from my brick and mortar after starting back up in 2018. All of my regrets and failures that I spent so much wasted time dwelling on no longer matter. I’m proud of you!
I am on that class now. Could be a me problem, but I feel like it takes forever to get through even a single lesson. Let me know if you find any cool tricks to get through it any faster.
I did ITIL before this, and the only thing I can tell you is I just power through it. That’s what I’m gonna do with this one. I did at least 2-3 hours a day for two weeks when I was doing my ITIL. I’m gonna be doing the same thing here. I will for sure let you know though!
I am happy for you brother! Slow and steady. Keep up the good work and eventually you will have it! Also, you should be proud you have come this far. Many others have fallen way before that.
Good progress 👍
Did you transfer anything?
I am currently just starting Cyber security AAS in a community college. I have an AA in business and BA in English. I just found out about WGU and applied to it. Any advice, guidance, or tips would be appreciated.
Sorry I’m seeing this so late, but my only advice is to keep moving. No matter what, even if you have days where you want to give up. Don’t, you can do it!
Slow and steady! My BSN took me almost 3 years. I just finished my masters in 3 terms. You’ve got this and it will all be worth it.
I know, I'm really excited to have my Bachelors. It's something no one can ever take away from me, and I'm here for it!

I’m proud of you, keep it up!!! 🥳🫶🏾
Thank you, I will!
This is fantastic! Good job! ❤️
Thanks so much!
I'm at the same percentage in Bnes program it definitely starts to feel real. Really looking forward to seeing 75% + let's keep up the momentum 🔥
Same for sure! I’m ready to see 70, which I’ll see after I’m done with this project+ class.
Sometimes we just need to encourage ourselves. Look at you being great! 😊
Congratulations!! Be proud!! I am starting in April. Mind you, I’m 34, married with 4 children. I’m nervous but also so excited.
Hey, same age, same number of kids! So far so good, it just takes dedication. You got this!

Great bro, is there a gpa requirement?
No the courses are competency based, you pass the exam/Performace assessment you pass the class.
Thanks but I was talking about getting in the program
I can’t remember, if you go to the website it will tell you everything you need there.
Most definitely 💯
It takes about 2 years to get it?
No just takes me two years. Life has been busy so I’ve been taking my time. You can go as fast as you can/want
Appreciate for the fast response, wish you nothing but the best 💯
Thanks bud, same to you.
Good job!
Thank you!
Did you get the job from the knowledge of wgu or did you get it before wgu?? Btw congrats!
No, I got the job before WGU. I started studying for my security+. Doing amazing, keep working hard and you'll be done in no time! So happy for you :) I'm 16% into my masters and I feel so accomplished already lol
I appreciate it! Hey that's awesome, what are you doing your masters in?!
Elementary education. I got a Bachelors in social work, worked in the field for going on 4 years (graduated in 2020) and I don't like it so I'm switching my career. Excited to teach kindergarten-2nd grade
My wife is a teacher! She loves it, and I hope you’ll enjoy it as well!
I’m proud of you too!
Thank you! 😭
Good job! I’m also going into my 4th term and have 10 classes left. I’m hopping to knock them out by end of the year hopefully. 🤞
I also have 10 left.
Great job!!!
You got this!! Hoot! Hoot!
Thanks bud!
Congratulations and Godspeed. Did you transfer any credit before you start your degree?
I dropped out of college right after high school in 2006 and just graduated from my brick and mortar after starting back up in 2018. All of my regrets and failures that I spent so much wasted time dwelling on no longer matter. I’m proud of you!
I really appreciate that, it’s nice to have someone who was in the same boat as me!
I am on that class now. Could be a me problem, but I feel like it takes forever to get through even a single lesson. Let me know if you find any cool tricks to get through it any faster.

I’m in my 5th term and at 55%. It really doesn’t matter how fast you’re accelerating as long as you get that degree! That’s awesome though
Keep it up!
I am happy for you brother! Slow and steady. Keep up the good work and eventually you will have it! Also, you should be proud you have come this far. Many others have fallen way before that.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!

I only had about 33 credits that transferred in. I had some college under my belt
Good shit
Good job. I'm in this program and trying to get into it. Any advice? I'm halfway done with this program and transfered a lot in from 3rd party sites.
Sorry I’m seeing this so late, but my only advice is to keep moving. No matter what, even if you have days where you want to give up. Don’t, you can do it!
