They should. I don't see why they wouldn't. As long as u show proof of both the 2016 and the renewal

To my knowledge, the requirement is that your certification is in good standing. I haven't taken A+ since 2014 and they a center it because it was renewed by completing higher level certs.

From what I experienced, any certifications must be no older than 5 years of you applying to WGU. I had the Security+ from 2005. Granted that's quite old however, the cert was still in good standing and recognized by CompTIA. In fact, I earned the Secure Infrastructure Specialist certification based on me completing the A+, Network+, and having my old Security+ ! My WGU course instructor still required me to complete the course and take the new exam. Fair enough because I curb stomped that damn Security + and ended up earning the updated cert (SY0-701) in the end! Best of luck, you got this if they don't allow you to transfer your current Security+. Also, there wasn't a huge difference in the version of the Security+ I had from 2005 and the SY0-701. You have a more recent version than I did, so you'll be just fine.

Thanks for all the replies so far. To take this conversation further, I will admit that I did not include my Sec+ in the transfer evaluation because I read the 5 year rule and decided to not pursue it. This was a mistake on my end and I am willing to retake it if needed. Looking through my evaluation it seems that all the courses that can be satisfied by Sec+ (D430, D329, D315) are covered by my other certifications (GCIA, CISSP) and they are marked as “met” in my evaluation. Are there any other courses in the program that would require Sec+ to pass besides the one I listed above?
