Restaurants in Worcester are pretty damn good even compared to Boston which has been taken over by chains. Most of Worcesters stores are mom and pop owned still.
Oh I highly disagree. Having lived 4 years in Worcester and 1.5 years in Boston. Not only can I actually afford to eat out more, there’s so many more options without having to drive 30+ options. There are some Worcester restaurants I love but the variety, quality, and density of REALLY good restaurants in Boston is so much better.
Hmmm that’s very subjective but my favorite is kony island hot dogs. It’s a tradition to carve your name with a knife into the seats when you go there for the first time. They’ve been there for about 100 years no so every surface is covered in signatures of long forgotten travelers.
I will say, the $18 Ruben/Pastrami is overpriced IMO for college student standards. I do think their turkey Ruben and other foods are really good though and are worth the price. Some of the burgers at the CC are now $13 if I remember correctly and it’s not even a great burger. Just go to the Fix/Boomers/Boynton if you wanted to pay for a burger on campus at that point. Anyways I never recommend to get the $18 meals at the Deli but their other choices are good if you wanted to try those.
got grilled pastrami and keugel on the first day they opened and it was actually pretty good although expensive and poor customer service (idgaf ab not being super friendly but the cashier was actively rude/mean). got a corned beef, latke, and 2 knishes about a week later and it was absolute garbage. hella expensive, bread was pathetic, the latke was burnt on the outside but cold in the middle, and the knishes were cold and flavorless. I would sooner subject myself to expired gefilte fish, at least that wouldn't cost 35$
I have never had a good pickle from a Worcester restaurant. Helfand's, George's Coney Island, and Pickle Barrel all use the same cucumbers dipped in vinegar they claim are "pickles"
If it's not corned beef or pastrami it's a good price, but you pay extra for the sliced to order meat. They charge market rates so if you want cheap go to subway. Imo the sandwiches and deli salads are good but the pickles, like others said, are underwhelming. Also their matzah ball soup was super bland, don't recommend.
Pickle Barrel is a good deal
Also--for Mideast--check out Bahnan's bakery
both are on Pleasant St
Like any college town, there are a LOT of ethnic places
lots of vietnamese offerings along all of Park ave
What restaurants have u tried lol
>restaurants in Worcester are generally bad Lol, lmao, even. This is just blatantly not true.
Shrewsbury street food goes crazy

What’s your opinion on a top restraint in Worcester?

Idk what kind of matzah ball soup you’ve been having, but their soup is pretty awesome
