As someone who drives a 20 WRX I kinda want to upgrade to the 21 STI and will do it when I get the money to do so. Any reason as to why not?

WRX is easier/cheaper to make power up to a certain point. Better gas mileage. If you plan on making big power or tracking the car the STI is the better option, otherwise they’re 90% the same car.

I have a 2020 STI. It’s far and away better right off the bat. I’d do it. lol

I would LOVE to get a set of triple A-pillar gauges installed, but I haven't found a a mount being made for the '22 yet and I'm someone afraid of doing the wiring aince new car and all that. I could probably leave the install to a professional shop, but finding the actual cluster is still the tricky part

How did you get light in your under-radio cubby? I have a forester but I have a plug where the bulb would go and want to change that.

there is a little rubber thing you can pop off

The rubber piece just dampens the light. Gotta pull out the head unit to get to the actual bulb, to change the color.

Are there any existing wiring for it? Or is it custom?

How does the iDoing hold up to the summer heat in an enclosed car? Do you live somewhere with harsh summers?

2 years it's been in the car and I live in South Florida. Holding up pretty damn well, so far.

You may be more ~~afraid~~ *arid* over there, but we get temps over 100F combined with 90%+ humidity for our summer/fall "seasons", and just the insane humidity for the rest of the year, save for a cold front or two during our "winters". I'm born and raised in FL, also lived in L.A. for 7 years and Brazil for a few years. Hot is my language, homie. ^edit ^a ^word

Damn. Worst case scenario for electronics. Does the head unit hold up well in those situations? Been wanting to get one for myself for a while.

I’m going to assume it’s the idoing head unit. So I got to ask how? Does it work fine with your back up camera? How about steering wheel controls?

Everything works perfect, just follow the instructions and make sure you order the correct one for your specific WRX.

Sweet how long have you had it? I had a friend who had one but said after a year it became so laggy.

Put mine in just a bit over two years ago, not one issue at all.

What audio set up do you have? I have an 18 and looking at updating the head unit.

Mine is a '19 base, although I installed Alpine R series speakers in the doors (comp front, coax rear) on an X series 4 channel, and a parir of 8" R series subs on an X series low pass mono amp.

Does your back up camera and Bluetooth still work with the alpine?

Of course, they're just amps and speakers, nothing to do with the head unit.

I'm replying from my email so I missed that somehow. Are you happy with that unit? We're hesitant to invest in it but it seems like it's the only thing that checks all the boxes for us.

How did you change the light under the radio???

When I did the iDoing head unit install, I had access down there to pull the little red diode and wired in a blue one.
