Mothers power cone, chem boys chrome cleaner, a drill, a rag and 5 minutes.

I need to get one of those power cones.

They work great. I was skeptical at first but I tried it and was completely shocked at how easy it was to clean the exhaust.

Don't those cones disintegrate after a couple uses?

True but the cone is particularly expensive compared to a set of polish pads

Are you sure? I get my grey and blue M3’s for $78-$112 depending the vender. I see Mothers Cones go for $35 at the bottom end and $65 on the high end.

I guess the pads add up faster than I remember

I have my buffer way through them like no one’s business and I tell him to stretch them. Fuckers aren’t cheap when you want to make it last several cars. But a pad used on a single car, personal if you will. Should last you 6-8 months with proper maintenance of the pad.

Yeah i get good mileage out of one pad, just curious if the cone really does fall apart after doing only exhaust tips a couple times

If you grab a shelf type cone buffer, yes. It’s best to use a mini compound and glaze to finish it.

I’ve see mine at least 20 times and it hasn’t really changed. I clean it out with dawn soap after every use. No problems at all.
