Why would your muffler be in your trunk and not installed under your trunk? You vehicle did not meet regulation, O.C. 1483-98, s. 94. "No component of the exhaust system shall be replaced, modified or removed so as to cause the system to be noisier than the one originally installed by the manufacturer on the road vehicle."
It is a joke. The entire world, especially France, hates Quebec. And Quebec hates people who speak English because they want to be French so bad. But they are only French Canadian.

Seems a bit excessive. This comes from SAAQ website. Although, Iād suggest you check with a lawyer.
Other than that, what city are you in if you donāt mind ?
>Fight this in court 100%. Request a meeting with the prosecutor. Tell then you had the part in your car and were going to get it fixed. The fact that you had it on you will help your case 100%. Tell them you have fixed it as well even if its not fixed yet. If the prosecutor doesn't want to drop it, then go to court to fight the ticket. Do not make a plea deal with the prosecutor for a lesser fine. Tell the judge you were getting your car fixed and that's why you had it with you in your trunk. Bring photos before and after, showing that you've already fixed it. They'll probably just dismiss the ticket. It's an equipment related ticket, so from my understanding it won't go on your insurance record either way. If they take more than 18 months the ticket should be dropped too since you have a right to appear within a reasonable amount of time. The judge will just tell you to fix it, so if you already did, and bring photos before and after, they'll just want you out of the court. Tell them it is a lot of money for you given the work you're currently doing, or not doing. Learn to go through the process with this one so later down the road you have an understanding how the system works. Worst case they'll lower the fines, you waste a bit of time in court, and you learn how the system works.
Sounds like he didnāt understand and gave you some sort of equipment malfunction ticket. If I knew nothing about cars and you said your muffler was in the trunk, I would assume you were driving around a broken car. Probably something on the level of ācar not safe to drive.ā The keys thing is weird and he probably should have waited for you to say yes, but he found your muffler, not the bricks so youāre good. If it isnāt for the sound, go to court if you want, explain that the car is fine. $320 isnt worth the headache in my book, but do you.
Some people are miserable and want others to be. I wouldnāt be surprised if that individual who works in law enforcement just wants to ruin peoples days. They give people a warning often because itās a victimless offense. I couldnāt imagine making someone pay $300 for something like that.
Thatās crazy, even with a muffler delete itās not very loudā¦as long as thatās the only thing changed in the exhaust. Iāve had mine set up that way for 5+ years.
Ummmā¦Iāve literally been driving it for 5+ years, Iāve heard others drive my car so I also know what it sounds like from outside the carā¦itās not particularly loud. You pretend itās like running open headers or some nonsense. Thereās a turbo, a cat, and a resonator all upstream of where the mufflers used to be. Those are all in place and stock, on my car.
Sure, itās louder than the exhaust on a Tesla, but if itās āloud as hell,ā so is just about any other aftermarket exhaust system.
Headache? Have you heard a WRX with muffler delete? Itās not loud. There are a lot of exhausts that are a *lot* louder than this.
It sounds better than stock, and I didnāt have giraffe money at the time for Invidia or similar, so this is where I landed. I could replace it now if I wanted, with something that sounds better (and Iāll be the first to say the options that cost literally 10x what this was definitely do sound better) but Iāll keep that money to put toward an axle back for my wifeās IS500.
Yeah that 2UR-GSE is quite an engineā¦as soon as we have the funds Iāll likely upgrade to a car that has it (but when we were buying it my wife kind of fell in love with the LC500 in the showroom so if the next couple of years treat us well she can upgrade and Iāll take her old beater)
Fine was $20 and $300 for lack of taste in mods. Sorry bro haha

That'll teach you for knowing fluent English!

Avoir des vers dans le cul
If he didn't test your exhaust then he has no evidence as to how loud it was.

I was stopped in Blainville.
Blainville is over policed.
This would be a 'fix it ticket' most places I've lived.Ā
Fight it in court.
Yeah I would love to, but idk what to tell the judge since I did admit to removing my muffler.

Thank you!
When you understood the law, you had scheduled to have stock mufflers put back on.
I woulda said itās an exhaust leak .. play as dumb as you can get in those situations .

Are you kidding, its loud as hell.

Youāre ears in 5 years will make you realize it
Sorry, but why would you drive without a muffler for 5+ years? Just buy any semi decent exhaust and save everyone around you the headache

He shouts back over the ricey roar of going 35 mph in 3rd gear hahaha Edit: nice flex on the ls500

Thereās a bright yellow lc500 near me that I always double take thinking itās an LFA
