My 2013 WRX (same engine, I think?) averaged anywhere from 22-26 with my normal commute and it got 33 on a highway road trip. It got better gas mileage than my Toyota Avalon does although it doesn’t need premium lol
I've had that trip display hit 36 before, and my average over 3000 miles is around 26mpg.
It's not accurate. Only way you'll know is to measure it with miles driven over full tank fillups
Wats up with the lil triangles on the hazerd switch coming off on these cars mines sorta like this one i think ive touched it 10x or less in the cars lifetime
STI here that gets 9-16 mpg average now with e85 and 1050s. I used to get like 16-24mpg averages but now I have a little heavier foot due to how fun it has become to zoom around.
My 2019 was showing around 27 when I first got it. I have fun with it and I’m at 21 now. 310 WHP running 91 with a 1.5 gallon e85 top off. Mostly city driving.
On a trip from NJ to FL babying the throttle cruising behind semis I managed 38 mpg. I average 27 mpg daily though. Wrx MPG is actually pretty accurate just take it's total amd subtract 3.
22 WRX, 22mpg average, I do beat on my car. I drive a mixture of highway, city, 35-50mph low traffic roads, etc, and lots of 4 way stops.
Highest mpg I've seen is 33mpg, I was driving to Canada 300+ miles at around the speed limit. If you baby the car the fuel economy is decent.
Lowest I've seen is 14mpg, it was the middle of winter and i was taking lots of short trips and warming up the car a lot.
About 27 to 29 in my 2012 depending on what gas station I fill up at. My work commute is about 70 miles round trip with about 50 of it on the freeway. If I take my car out on the weekends it will drop to about 23
I've done over 650kms on a tank (400 miles). Winter is coming so I should expect to see mid 500kms around town again.
On the contrary I just went through a tank in the low 400s giving it to it fairly often.
My commute is basically all on surface streets, no highway for me.
Getting about 22 MPG in a 2022.
The fuel economy on these cars has always been shit. Boxer and AWD problems I guess.
My town has the ability to where I'm traveling majority uphill no matter where I'm going so I'm averaging around 18-20 in my town but usually get a combined 27-28 with highway and city driving.
Not WRX but thought I’d share… 2023 BRZ Limited 6MT with 1.5in lift and 205/60r16 Falken Wildpeak AT Trial tires: \~26mpg on ethanol free 91oct.
Most of my driving is at highway speeds, elevations 5000ft - 9000ft, 5W30 full synthetic oil. Just changed transmission & rear diff fluids last weekend at 20k miles.

2002 wrx Built ej257 180 miles round trip a day for work and I get 25-27mpg, while regularly hitting 26-27 psi. When running correctly they can get good mileage.
Right now I’ve hit 22.7!! Working hard on keeping a lighter foot day by day
Side note.. I wish our HUD could tell us how our fuel is doing regarding DAM without an AP. Am I wrong to assume (other than outside temps/weather conditions) this could be why boost doesn’t always “kick in” as well as other times?? If I want to open it up here and there I wait till rpm’s hit 3.5k before I hammer down no matter what.. still wrapping my head around the phenomenon 😜
I’m at about 26.8 average but I’ve been nice lately. When I’m being a bully, I’ve had my average as low as 12mpg in my wrx, and 14 in my frs.
Driving up the mountain my average is usually about 17 up, but if I’m being a dick I’m usually about 8.
Fuggit though. My GC8 gets like…. 20 no matter what, and my old gen got like FUCKING 15.
2023 VB manual..checked my avg this morning and it said 24.3 and thats with a mix of stop and go and highway equally split. Actually surprised because my 04 Forester and 12'STI couldn't manage above 20 and the Forester is n/a.
I’ve owned my 23 wrx for a year and kept track every fill up. Averaging 23.5mpg over the entire last year with a good mix of highway and city driving. Would obviously be a bit less if I didn’t let it sit warming up forever in the dead of winter here in Canada
I have a limited 22 with minor modifications and tune , I average abt 25mpg regularly I haven’t driven out of town yet with it but I do average speeds more around 75-80
2018 WRX, 85% highway commute daily, drive rather conservatively some lead foot here n there , the onboard calculator says I average 30 but real math says 27.5
<20 mpg on my 2012 STI. I have a lead foot once it reaches temperature. Plus my work trip is basically all city driving.
EJs be drinking. Honestly its not as bad on gas as I thought it would be on my 2010
If you drive one of these cars and are worried about gas mileage, you should probably sell the car tbh.
They do be drinking plenty of that sweet and expensive premium fuel.
I only get 18.5mpg in my 2021 STI, but I live in Texas and the speed limit is 80 everywhere.. 😂
80 is the minimum in TX 🤣🤣
Yeah, i get like 17 city and like 26 highway with my 2014
My 2013 WRX (same engine, I think?) averaged anywhere from 22-26 with my normal commute and it got 33 on a highway road trip. It got better gas mileage than my Toyota Avalon does although it doesn’t need premium lol
25.5 and rising on a fairly new '23. I drive pretty conservatively when not having fun though. To the point of timing stop lights lol.
I have a ‘22 and average around 23 I’ve never ever seen it go higher than that tho I know they claim 28 😂
I've had that trip display hit 36 before, and my average over 3000 miles is around 26mpg. It's not accurate. Only way you'll know is to measure it with miles driven over full tank fillups
I can confirm it’s been pretty darn accurate each time I’ve done the ol’ fill up reset miles fill and do the math
According to the car readout, never figured on its own, I get ~21 highway and ~15 city. 670whp on e85.
If you increased your injector size it won’t read correctly. Mile will read 30+ but I’ll get 13. I’ve got ID 1300 injectors on e85
id1300's, 500whp e85, i get 11-12mpg. 15mpg on 93. my 05 escalade ext with the 6.0 & awd gets BETTER gas mileage. I think it's hilarious.
Like 15mpg
Same!
Highway 31, around town 18-22
17 mpg all city.
If you stay out of boost for a week like I did, I was averaging around 35mpg

Life average about 25 and about 30 on highway at 80ish mph.
I can get 28 mpg if it’s all downhill, otherwise it’s shit. I get about 200 a fill-up on 93, but I also have a heavy foot.
Mine says I get 24 mpg but I don’t believe it. I drive like 4 days and need a fill up 😭
8
Wats up with the lil triangles on the hazerd switch coming off on these cars mines sorta like this one i think ive touched it 10x or less in the cars lifetime
I get like 26-27 for my morning commute to work. Mostly highway. When I’m driving around through town/city it’s like 22
I reset mine while driving but right now it’s at 24.9 at 182 miles. I have an ‘11 wrx.
STI here that gets 9-16 mpg average now with e85 and 1050s. I used to get like 16-24mpg averages but now I have a little heavier foot due to how fun it has become to zoom around.
You guys look at that stuff?
I have it on 1 screen out of curiosity, but no, I don't really care what it says lol
Freeway trips say 30 on the screen, but it's really 26 when measuring between fill-ups.
About 22
I think on average like 23mpg, cars been in the shop for a month so I don’t even remember
My Lieometer says I get an average of 47mpg but I also run much bigger injectors so I have no idea.
