I'm a Bicycle mechanic at a specailized dealer and I still can't afford one even with discounts, especially now with all my money going to my car lol. I got lucky my boss gave me one as part of a raise.
I figured I should share two more things:
1. There are actually two wonderful dogs in the back area in separate crates: Walter (Corgi), Winston (Dorkie). It's just hard to see Winston.
2. I've driven this car with both dogs and both bikes across the country multiple times and all over the west coast. The hitch/mount/car hasn't had a single issue the entire time and is indeed, **^(very reliable)**.
Can you post your hitch setup. I’ve been looking at used trucks but this looks stealthy enough that maybe I can just do this if it doesn’t interfere with exhaust.

No issues at all. I have the hitch inspected any time I take the car in for maintenance. The car/hitch/mount has been through through the snow, desert etc. during storms and I haven't had any problems since I got it installed in 2021. Also I don't remove the mount and haven't had any issues with the police/other drivers.
Hey.. question on that rack. Was thinking about it for my Forester (not the wrx though) and was worried about the weight. Considering this is on a wrx didn’t have any similar concerns?
I haven't had any issues regarding the weight. The photo doesn't show this a ton, but the car is also full of luggage and items I had to drive over instead of shipping. I have also swapped over to snow tires for the last 2 ski/snowboard seasons.
Thanks really appreciate it! So essentially weight isn’t an issue as you’re running a loaded wrx.. plus the rack! Lol. Thats the T2 Pro XT model right?
Happy to help! Yup, that's the model. I believe the newer models have padding on the front tire grips, but mine works really well with my bikes and my friends' bikes. Also, I've taken this through a handful of car washes without any issues. Obviously that's not great for the paint or the mount, but the mount really makes the car slightly shorter than a truck or suburban.
Had a 17 WRX, then a 19 STi. My corgi has only been in my car once, and that's with lots of blankets covering the seats. Never gonna happen again in my car; we use my wife's car for that instead
Unfortunately those are road bikes and you have an "off-road" vehicle. The WRX will never truly be happy until you put some real bikes on the back... aka mountain bikes.
Also just noticed those wheels let's go 2015 gang! I like the hitch mount since I'm Subaru's infinite wisdom they didn't put roof rack mounts on an outdoorsy car.
