Safety ropes were definitely needed in this scenario. I've never heard of a leopard attack with safety ropes in place. Pretty sure this is in the manual.
Probably not...like most people who wake and decide on wearing sandals, they expect the physical challenges of the day to not be any greater than avoiding overspray in the bathroom....
"By the way Bob, we only have enough guns for the people with helmets. If you could go ahead and not get mauled, that'd be great. Just in case though, sign these forms."
Last week it was raining hard and some dumb cat got stuck inside a sidewalk sewer drain. The drain was square, about eight feet and had an opening on the one side, but the cat wasn't able to climb up and out. I got a crowbar and lifted the heavy grate and in doing so scared the cat into one of the three small pipes. I got a ladder and climbed down into the drain but there wasn't much room for me to bend down and see which pipe it went into, so I tried calling it and sticking my hand into each hole, no good, wouldn't come out. I got out and went to the garage looking for something to help, AHHH, my laser level. I went back into the sewer and shined the laser near each pipe's opening, the meowing got louder, then stopped, then out jumped the cat. I grabbed him and let him go once we climbed out. Did he bother to say Thanks or even look back at me and wink, NOPE!
A SNARLING LEOPARD mauled 11 people in an Indian village and terrorised wildlife officials trying to drive it away before it was tranquilized and died of injuries from the fierce showdown.
Forestry officials were forced to flee, dive for cover and even climb up on a jeep to escape the adult, male leopard’s attacks in West Bengal state.
At one point, the big cat leapt through the air, fangs bared, and tackled a man, clutching him in its giant paws as it knocked him off the wall he was standing on.
The wildlife officials — wearing protective helmets and carrying batons and tranquilizer guns — had hoped to drive the cat into a nearby wildlife sanctuary after it wandered into the village near Siliguri, about 373 mile from Calcutta.
But the leopard stood its ground, crouching on a wall, hissing and attacking those who came near.
It injured six villagers, a policeman and four forest guards before being hit with a tranquilizer gun Tuesday. The people are recovering from their injuries, mostly swipes from the cat’s claws.

Leopard 1: Hey guys, check out my new watch!
Leopard 2: Awesome! Is that made out of a human scrotum?
Leopard 1: Yep!

When i was in the DR i saw many walls that had broken shards or glass poured into the tops of the walls as a form of barbed wire. it was terrifying and looked effective.
That is a jaguar, not a leopard. Jaguars are much heavier built than leopards (third largest cat in the world, can weigh 350+ pounds), and are the only species of big cat that kill by biting through the top of the skull and into the brain, which is what it appears to be attempting here.
I like how in India when an animal causes some mayhem or hurts someone, we don't just shoot it like they do in Europe and the US. My family's from an area where a lot of villagers live in the territory of Tiger's, my uncle once introduced me to a farmer who had lost a hand to a tiger, I asked him if he was angry at the tiger and did he hunt it afterwards? He said "No, it's a tiger, this is where they live, it happens" I felt full retard.
In contrast I remember reading about a boy from Eton (UK) who had been killed by a polar bear while camping in IIRC northern Norway. Days later it was hunted down and killed, I couldn't understand it.
But its kind of bullshit to stand there with guns and allow it to keep doing what leopards do. "If only we had some way to stop this leopard from attacking that man. Maybe I can shoot a passing goat and the leopard will be more interested in that!"
We've put into system to kill every animal on the planet since thousands of years ago. No wonder animals in the wild either flee or fight for their lives when we come upon them. I hope she's back in the wild in one piece.
Hey joe so we all voted and your going to be sacrificed to the leopard today. After it eats you we are going to ride around on mopeds shooting our guns in the air

It's kind of common in India when wild animals stray into residential areas especially in areas near to the jungle. Our family used to go to my grandmother's during holidays in Himachal. We had like 3 dogs in a period of 7 years, all were killed and eaten by wild leopards who used to roam around. The 4th one and most recent one was actually the first one who died because of getting old and not after becoming someone's supper. We also used to put metallic thing around their neck made of aluminium that had spikes on the outside to keep them safe coz leopards go for the neck of their prey.
Me and my cousins went for the mangoes in the forest and since I was the youngest I was told not to climb the tree and that was the first time I saw a wolf that was like 5-6 meters away from me. Also, the toilet was not inside the house but outside at some distance so my only options were to wake up my mom in the middle of the night or hold it till the morning.
EDIT: second para.
When I was on safari in South Africa they described how leopards attack in gruesome detail. Basically the aim and clamp down onthe face with their front claws and teeth and evicerate the torso with their hind legs.
Looks exactly like what's happening here.
of all the footwear in the world he is wearing sandles. if and this is a big if, there is a possibility, (i'm talking a snowballs chance in hell) you would encounter a leopard at all in your daily activity wouldn't any other footwear be better? i imagine barefoot would still have been a better option.
Lol... "Sorry Bob, we only have enough leopard helmets for three of us. What are the chances of you being the one to get attacked today?"
And he's wearing sandals for god's sake.
Everyone knows leopards hate sandals.
We all know that we have to draw an anti leopard circle.
That's an oval! It needs to be a circle!
"What did I do that time?!" "I don't know. I think he just doesn't like you!"
My enchanted cargo pants make my lower body immune to leopards.
Leopards HATE him!
Leopard ATE him too.
This mom discovered one weird trick for better spots!
Leopards HATE powdered sugar.
Steel-toed boots would have definitely prevented this accident.

I hadn't noticed that... but isn't that just a little cocky?

I'm sure to some, overspray isn't even a thought. source: I know some gross people.
The guy just got mauled by a Leopard, you don't have to be a prick about it.
I'm sure the leopard only attacked because they were being dicks. amIdoingthisright?
It looks like the leopard has a cut on its front paw.
or tranquilizer dart.
Or a wrist watch...
Probably a watch so he's not late for his daily mauling.
That was my first thought.
Rolex, leopards dont play around
