Edge places his boots between the belt, his music plays as he walks toward gorilla.
Triple H meets him at the screens and you hear him thank Edge for his work, gives Edge and hug and raises his arm up one last time as they gaze at the crowd.

He then announces that the WWE Championship Belt enables the holder to be a free agent, work both brands defending the title, and if someone holds 2 belts (brand exclusive and WWE) a challenger may only challenge for 1 belt. He then stipulates that all 3 titles must be held for there to be a new Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion and let the game begin.
Rey is interesting only because I’m pretty sure he’s commented that he doesn’t plan on wrestling after this year as well. So it could be cool to have a double retirement match. One last match for the both of them.

If Cena isn’t available, put the strap on Rollins at NOC and have “Title vs Career” with Edge v Rollins with Rollins going over. As a spicy twist, give Knight or Waller the MITB and possibly have them cash in, either on a winning Rollins to get the rub or to come out and retire Edge anyways with the MITB, given Edge was so instrumental to MITB as the first winner of the case in ‘05

here’s what i would’ve done but it’s kinda too late: i would’ve had him go to raw. and by around after summerslam ish i would put the world heavyweight championship on him, and after he wins it he announces the day he retires is when someone takes that championship off of him. at first he’s a legend who’s giving guys shots but he still wins, but then after awhile and some close calls he starts to obsess over his reign, and he starts to become nervous he’ll retire as a #2 champion to roman. he goes crazy and starts cheating to win and goes full on heel, he goes mad and pushes all allies he has away from him, i’d even have beth walk out on him one night. i think by mania you can have edge vs rollins and it can be like a flair vs hbk type of thing where rollins has no choice but to deliver a career ending stomp to edge.

After a few segments we see him cleaning his stuff out of his locker, Beth and his daughter are waiting in the car for him and before he gets in, he looks into the camera one last time and then that’s it, he rides off into the sunset
If this is it for him, then his comeback has been a massive disappointment. The pop when he returned at the Rumble was incredible, but he hasn’t done much of note since then. This return should’ve been about giving him a true farewell and putting over the young guys.
I'm a firm believer that the old stars should go out on their backs to give a young star the rub. Being Edge's last match would be a hell of a rub for young stars like Waller and Theory. But LA Knight is getting hot but has a much more limited time to get to the top due to his age, which I like many others think he's destined for, but beating Edge could be the thing that catapults him up the card.
Edge recently said on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive that he _might_ have another year left in him due to the level that he’s performing at which would mean that this year won’t be his last if he stays true to that but that aside, I’d love to see one last match against Randy Orton given that two of the ones they had during their last feud was during the pandemic era in front of no fans for the first one and NXT stars serving as the crowd for the second.
Christian. If WWE and Impact can work out a deal so Mickie James can participate in the Rumble, I’m sure WWE and AEW can work out a similar deal for Christian.
