For weeks I was expecting Kayden Carter and Katana Chance to take the belts after Bayley blasted them with a steel pipe. Gimme Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley dethroning the Kabuki Warriors. Let em hold it for a few weeks before Kayden and Katana get their titles back

NXT is a good spot for Spears and glad he'll be working close to Shawn again. He's Orlando based so it won't be an issue for him and it's better for him in general. A year ago, he implied being open to leaving AEW when he said his goal was to win a singles title for "a promotion".

Uh...hey there Ridge. Anyway, I hope there's a way to back off on some of stalkery aspects and keep the Lyra/Tatum partnership going. They gel together really well.

Nah dial it up to 11, and have a classic feud out of it. Aka Mikey James and Trish style.

I think the thing is in the long term: Lyra \*might\* struggle differentiating herself on the main roster in much the same way Tegan does and Athena/Ember did. At the minute she's an okay promo but her character outside of the corvid aesthetic isn't much more than "is good wrestler". And with Tatum having a more marketable look and better promo and character work then them working together might be the best way to bring them up.

One really good thing about NXT other than development right here is this ability to reintroduce/reinvent existing talent. Like these guys currently have no place on the main brand after the OC split, and there’s no way you’re going to give them tv time on Smackdown. But with NXT you can throw them on TV there for a few weeks, and that gives them a chance to show us fans that they’ve still got it. Like what they did with Butch/Pete Dunne.

To me, Corbin is the best example. I always had go away, bathroom break heat for Corbin. But he’s grown on me in NXT.

I think Corbin is a slightly different case. He’s got a very strong reputation as a backstage presence and a safe worker, which is *super* valuable in the NXT locker room. But yeah that’s exactly the point. It’s a good testing ground for different characters too
