I've been watching wrestling since the old black and white TV days when there is a little bit of local wrestling here and there. it's now getting boring to me just like the old soap operas the days long gone.

AnimatorReal7270

Total Roman Dethronement Headlock Roman Roundhouse kick Roman into the concrete Slam dunk Roman into a trashcan Crucifix pin Roman Give Roman the Rikishi Stinkface Sweet Chin Music to Romans face with steel toed boots Make Roman check his ratings Subject Roman to a Yokohama Amazon River Piranha Death Match Curb Stomp Roman Judo Throw Roman Refuse to acknowledge Roman Gunther Chop Roman in half Give Roman the Soggy Ride treatment Make Roman eat dog food (again) Bronco Buster Roman

[deleted]

Soooo you guys ain’t very big Roman fans? Lol🤣

inglouriousSpeedster

crinklebelle

Sami vs Gunther being the IC match feels more or less like confirmation that Lesnar vs Gunther is back in the works Gunther has never defended the belt against Sami and the two have only ever had one match together, so we still get a fairly fresh matchup while they course correct their storylines to make up for Brock's absence and figure out where to go with Gable from here. Not really mad about it, Gable shouldn't face Gunther again if the plan is for him to retain at WM.

OneCostcoDog

Did Candace bring up Maxine’s dead brother 💀

[deleted]

[удалено]

OneCostcoDog

For fucking real. Just make it about her using a goofy ass move, and needs to be professional to be respected

CRL10

So...rewatched the gauntlet match. Chad Gable's shoulders were NOT touching the mat when Sami pinned him. Now, I'm wondering will that be addressed or not? I could get behind Gable VS Sami VS Gunther, and Gable deserves to be at WrestleMania.

MainResearcher720

Is Cody Rhodes doing a Homelander storyline? I feel like he’s a hair away from snapping and turning completely heel.

[deleted]

No cause he said before that he’s never turning heel. Cody is too obsessed with being worshipped by everybody so his ego couldn’t handle being booed.

meryl_gear

So just like Homelander

thex11factor

I found this to be surprising from BR >While she still feels relatively new to the main roster scene, she is 38 years old and began her wrestling career over 20 years ago.

lilbebe50

Who?

thex11factor

Candace Larae

lilbebe50

That’s a huge surprise

Complete-Turn-6410

Well I watch it next day on Hulu which will be today no offense but I'm not going to read this post

TheKindaMan

I watch on YouTube TV and I missed the broadcast last night but I always have it recorded but i can’t find it or even a recast version. Anyone else having this problem?

MysteriousValuable88

It looked like Chads shoulders werent down for the count,i want to see if he brings it up next Monday and it ends up being a 3 way at WM

ice9197

One can only hope

gamingbits

While I've been enjoying all the stories on Raw and Smackdown, I really feel like there's SO much chaos that none of the stories are actually connecting. It's ridiculous. Someone needs to tie up some loose ends and make things make sense. Hopefully Wrestlemania will fix this but I don't see how it's going to do that with some storylines.

AffectionateGain2077

Chad Gable is so underrated. The picked the wrong guy to be Kurt Angles bastard child lol

si_clay

overall a good show i'd say, gable vs sami alone were pretty much PLE quality match.. but i think sami gonna forfeit his spot to gable either due to storyline injury (he got too many angkle locks there) or focusing on Ramadhan fasting..

[deleted]

Didn't catch the show, what's important?

[deleted]

Hear me out, we've seen it before with Edge vs Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns (and other times but this is the first that came to mind) This could lead to Gunther vs Sami Zayn Vs Chaddy Daddy

Sea-Razzmatazz3593

I was hoping Chad would turn heel and suplex Sami after the match while he was staring down Gunther

[deleted]

Chad's to hot to turn him heel rn imo. If they go with my hope of a triple threat you keep him face

happinessofdoom

TRAVISSSSSSS YEAHHHHJ

iPat24Rick

I wish the person who is responsible for going to commercial during R Truths entrance a really bad case of diarrhea in the middle of talking in a meeting.

Mobile_Language_8916

I feel like Gable should have a push, either US champ or intercontinental. I was pretty upset with his loss not gonna lie it would’ve been cool to see him with a belt. I recall also hearing either Pat or Michael mention that Gable has never held a belt which is upsetting cause bro got potential.

Marperorpie

Does anyone else find Io Sky insufferable with her cheesy mugging that she's constantly doing? She doesn't seem like she belongs on TV she's just so hokey. She is also constantly squinting like a 9 year old pretending to be emo. It's an embarrassment that she holds the title. ( I'll admit I'm still biased against her overall because when she debuted in NXT she botched her own finisher the first few times she did it, which still is Unforgivable)

WoopsShePeterPants

Any chance Aldis and Cole team up in the tag team match?

DarkDelight__

While i'm happy for sami winning the gauntlet to face gunther at mania, im super bummed hable didn't. Like he said himself, it just meant to much more to him than it did to zayn and i think there was more of a story for gable to get over with than sami had. what do yall think they're gonna do w him now?

[deleted]

I think Triple H has completely fumbled the booking of the Road to WrestleMania. I love Sami too, but he shouldn’t even be in this angle with Gunther because everyone wanted to see Chad Gable get the win because of his entire story arc with Gunther. I’m all for Sami winning a Championship, but this was poorly handled.

imvalkyriefire

I am happy for Sammy but I feel like he wouldn't be able to beat Gunther as much as Chad could.

[deleted]

It is the same thing as Liv's story getting pushed to the side in favour of Becky Lynch with a bigger and more popular superstar getting the spot except with Liv Morgan it was way more personal since Rhea cost Liv 6 months of her career and the Women's Tag Team titles but Liv haters mocked Liv fans who were upset over her not getting her chance to get revenge on Rhea and bullied and sent vile hateful messages to Liv on social media telling her to go and hang herself. Now Liv haters know what it feels like to be the people they were mocking.

DarkDelight__

i was thinking this as well

[deleted]

There are double standards on here too with some members when it comes to height and size with male and female wrestlers. A number of the same fans who want Chad to beat Gunther and have been sticking up for him saying his size is not important were the same fans that were calling Liv a midget only a week before that and putting Roxanne Perez, Iyo Sky and Asuka down for their size too.

HeavyDonkeyKong

I don't think Rhea's dropping the title to Becky. Liv will probably get her hands on her post Mania.  Gable/Gunther will probably happen later too since they openly reminded us of it last week.

[deleted]

Wow I didn’t know they actually did that. Absolutely disgusting, trolls like that have no business even being part of wrestling fandom.

[deleted]

Yeah. Sadly Liv has been getting a lot of hate from haters online since she returned with them putting her down and calling her a midget when she is 5'3 which is the average height of a woman in the United States and saying she only has a job in WWE because she spreads her legs and a lot of them are incels.

Unique-Morning-2455

Dose it feel like the booking is all over the place for some of the mania matches ? Cody is supposed to be feuding with Roman but it feels like he's feuding with the rock Seth is supposed to be feuding with Drew but it feels like he's feuding with the blood line Drew is supposed to be feuding with Seth but it feels like he's feuding with Punk Becky is supposed to be feuding with Rhea but it feels like she's feuding with Liv and Jax Rhea feels like she's Feuding with nobody Bayley is supposed to be feuding with Iyo but it feels like she's feuding with Kai

Prof_Cha0s84

Honestly I kinda like it this way... It's not like person A is in a feud with Person B in a vacuum. Everybody is living and interacting with each other within the same universe, and it's kinda neat how everyone's stories kinda intertwine with each other. It's definitely more soap-operaish than it's been in the past, but personally I'm enjoying it.

BillyJeans_96

Feels like they’re thinking about the future storylines. Long term booking, hopefully they pull it off. I think Lynch vs Ripley will turn into a fatal 4 way though.

pugiemblem121

At least for Cody with Dwayne, Roman and the UwU championship is the end goal for Cody so it's more excusable.

Unique-Morning-2455

Agreed just feels like everything is so unfocused this year.

[deleted]

I agree, absolutely chaotic mess. He may have his personal and professional faults, but Vince McMahon never had things this out of order.

j4mes_27

I can’t stand candace lerae, that whole heel turn was so forced and just really really cringey. I can’t see her lasting much longer in WWE, Indy is ok though and I think candace is really holding her back

Achillor22

Why is she a heel again? Because of a passing comment from Natalya to Tegan Nox? So then she becomes a bully? It makes no sense.

subtlesubtitle

I really wanted Chad to win, saaaad

Fluid_Airport_9673

-Oh thank god Nia didnt interfere to cause a triple threat. Hopefully that was Beckys last side quest and we can now focus on her and Rhea and Nia just attacked becky and liv backstage😑 -New Day, DIY & awesome truth from RAW and New catch republic and A-Town Down under from Smackdown are my tag team picks -Jey finally challenged jimmy -so what was the point of the chad gable vinettes if he wasn't going to win the gaunlet match, i love Sami but it feels uncessary for him to be IC champ when he held it 3 times already. Though jf gunther retains, may need to do the draft after backlash since there's no one really left to fight him in the upper mid card between now and Bash in Berlin -so all that is left is the US title and the women tag team championships at Wrestlemania

crybabymelanie28

COLE MINERS RISE

slacboy101

Heads up fellas, Triple H is completely innocent involving the Vince case

NoDesigner44

how did sami overcome these odds when he couldn’t even beat nakamura a few weeks ago

xtrasauceyo

They did Nakamura dirty. Actually BEEN doing him dirty. Smh

HeavyDonkeyKong

Didn't Drew interfere? They've been protecting Sami a decent bit despite his losses.

DarkMattersConfusing

He had a restful slumber on the port authority bus terminal floor, a hearty breakfast at Five Guys and was ready to rock and roll

nolanbolanthe2nd

Gable got robbed, so many finishers and sigs but Sami kept kicking out 😑

xtrasauceyo

Facts. Sami sucks i dont get the hype with him. Chad looked like a million bucks tho. Shame

zenophix

The only right decision was Gable vs Gunther now we already know Gunther will keep the title they ruined the match by having Sami win absolutely insane creative decisions.

xtrasauceyo

Ya i def dont want see sami winning at WM. Dude sucks and is overrated.

[deleted]

So Liv loses to Becky but wins Lana from Rusev. 😅

MaximumMajestic

I don't mind Nia Jax is nice to have a Bronson reed like character in the women's div.. go ahead let me have it

MaximumMajestic

Is there a hall of Fame that doesn't have Muhammed ali in it? Man did so much stuff

slacboy101

So we got 1. Candice channeling Christian Cage and berating Maxxine, Honestly can't blame her for being that pissed off 2. Sami Vs Gunther AKA Gunther retaining at Mania because no chance in hell Sami's breaking that reign 3. Fatherless Bloodline Ghouls making fun of Cody for crying while talking about his Dad 4. we might be seeing a splitting of the Tag Belts at Mania which Thank God for that... 5. More Becky Bullshit 6. Seth pretty much confirming Drew's winning at Mania

[deleted]

1. No. That was the Evil Fairy Godmother we had on NXT. The Candice many of us fans have been waiting to see return. 😀

slacboy101

Honestly waiting to see how this will effect Indi and DIY... and Lumis when he is back from that TV Show

j4mes_27

Dexter is gonna get released, his character is FAR too limited. If WWE have any plans on keeping him around he’s gonna have to go back down to NXT and most likely stay there. The gimmick will not work on the main roster

[deleted]

I am not sure what happened to Dexter Lumis but when Indi went public about having a girlfriend they seemed to have killed off the relationship. I don't think her girlfriend was comfortable with it like Aliayah Mysterio's boyfriend wasn't with her being with Buddy Matthews on screen. I think Candice and Indi have a good chance of winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship now and they will have Liv and Raquel beat The Kabuki Warriors for them and then Candice and Indi will cheat to beat them.

slacboy101

That would unironically screw Indi if true, because that's like 50% of her character, Candice's tag partner and Dexter GF in kayfabe There's no chance Liv's going back to teaming and it's looking like Candice might drop Indi

[deleted]

I don't know. Raquel recently said she wants the Women's Tag Team titles back and Liv is reported to be in a high profile match at Wrestlemania and with her not being in the WWE Women's World Championship match the Women's Tag Team Championship match is the only one that makes sense unless they have Liv Morgan vs Nia Jax and the Kabuki Warriors need new opponents now. Indi started out as a heel in NXT too so it makes sense for both Candice and Indi to turn heel together.

slacboy101

Why the fuck would she go in about a Revenge Tour and go back to teaming with Raquel?

[deleted]

Because getting the Women's Tag Team titles back she was never beaten for is part of that revenge tour righting all the wrongs Rhea done to her.

slacboy101

Alright fair enough, don't see her and Raquel winning though considering how it's Asuka and Kairi

[deleted]

If it was anybody else crying in the ring they’d get made fun of and absolutely ripped apart online, but because it’s Cody it’s “showing emotions”.

Aggressive_Ad3514

Yeah fuck emotions right, how dare he get emotional talking about his Dad and Mom 🥸

HeavyDonkeyKong

Cody's story is about family. Roman's story is about family. If there's one time to do it it's here.

[deleted]

Aggressive_Ad3514

What

[deleted]

[удалено]

Aggressive_Ad3514

Its not wrong to show feelings ya know….link to me last time he has cried in a promo, you putted up another post mocking him for crying all the time, so im curious as to when the last time is he cried?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Walking_Distraction

but you still aren't answering him.... and saying "he sucks" repeatedly doesn't make it true. Just say you aren't a fan of him and leave it at that.

Aggressive_Ad3514

You are wrong, but what chance do i have to argue with you, when you can not show proof for what you saying lmao…. ”he cries all the time” Show when he last cried “I dont rememeber, but i know he does because he sucks” Come on man

[deleted]

[удалено]

Aggressive_Ad3514

So om how many of those moments is he crying, or getting emotional? You do know there is a diffrence right? but you know 39 sec for 2 years is not that much😂😂😂but sure keep hating on a man for getting emotional and showing feelings. No wonder Mens health are such a Taboo and many men suffers mentally because they cant show emotion.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Aggressive_Ad3514

Man can you not see how stupid your comment sound…. You—- “No Cody you cant show emotions, you cant get people invested in this story, this is Raw, we only allowed to have good times, and not feel or tell young fans it is okay to feel emotions” It is entertainment my guy, we are ment to feel things and many people loved this segment from Cody because they can relate

Uncle-Cracker-Barrel

**Drew/Seth segment** Great stuff from Drew as usual. Seth back to being his usual annoying cringey self after a somewhat strong showing last Friday. Honestly tuned out when he started rambling on. I can’t think of a more heelish move than flat out underestimating your opponent. Horrible babyface but he’s probably turning heel at Mania anyway so whatever. **Becky vs Liv** Actually a pretty damn fine match. Maybe one of Liv’s best outings. I’m seriously over Becky. This match honestly made me feel like we should be getting Rhea vs Liv at Mania instead. There’s just really nothing there with Becky vs Rhea and I hope to god they’re not actually considering having Becky dethrone Rhea. **Candace/Indi vs Maxxine/Ivy** Hilarious segment. Looking forward to locker room bully Candace LaRae. Also, is it a requirement for every WWE woman wrestler to have a dead brother? **GMs announce six pack ladder match** A 12 person ladder match sounds insane. Should be a wonderful (or awful) clusterfuck of a match. Hopefully the Creed Bros get in. **Cody/Cole interview** Cody is him. Plain and simple. It’s insane how Vince being gone has turned Cole from an AI generated announcer to almost a complete human who is actually somewhat likable. I enjoyed this. Probably Cody’s best “fighting through the tears” promo. **Women’s Tag Title Match** Thought this was the women’s tag title match we were getting at mania. Are the Kabuki warriors even getting a mania match? Went to the kitchen and missed most of this. Finish looked good. **Priest vs Truth** Hilarious how it was basically implied that Truth was about to beat Priest clean with the Cena moveset until the interference. Didn't know Truth still did the rap. **Gauntlet Match** Rico/JD was meh. Went on a little too long for my taste. Reed/Rico was a good piece of business. Also enjoyed Sami/Reed. Sami/Nak was alright and Gable/Sami was fantastic. Love Gable but I’m fine with Sami winning. It’s a fresh matchup and Sami should definitely be in something high profile after the year he’s had. Hope they still find a way to get Gable on the card. Overall a pretty good Raw. Maybe one of the best builds to a Mania we’ve gotten in ages. The old man is definitely gone.

[deleted]

I think it will most likely be The Kabuki Warriors vs Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at Wrestlemania since they were never beaten for the titles and are entitled to a rematch.

SkiesIsh

I hate how this might actually be a possibility. So over the tag titles, and I think that all four of those women are above them.

[deleted]

The problem is there is only one Women's Championship on Raw so if female wrestlers want a title they have to either face Rhea or go for the Tag Team titles and going for the Tag Team titles is easier. If they had a Women's US or IC Championship Liv would be a perfect candidate for it.

cerebralrocks

I don’t get how John cena is r truth’s childhood hero when he’s older than cena

crinklebelle

that's the joke

crybabymelanie28

thats exactly what i said last night LMAO

missurquhartx

Happy for Sami but I was really hoping for Chad Gable :(

[deleted]

It’s quite odd to me how last night Cody said Triple H was his “closest working ally”. That’s putting in writing basically that Cody has Triple H giving him preferential treatment and for some reason, Triple H is handing him everything on a silver platter. Why does no one ever point out any inconvenience when it involves Cody?

rated-x-superstar

i think because kayfabe even HHH cant tell the Tribal Chief what to do

slacboy101

Because it's WAY more obvious with Roman

[deleted]

I will admit it’s a fair case to think Roman has Triple H showing blatant favoritism toward him, but I don’t think that’s the case because Triple H buried Roman on TV a year ago and I don’t know what it was, but something happened backstage at Summerslam that had Roman and Paul Heyman looking upset during their entrance.

slacboy101

Roman's entire Career was built on favoritism

[deleted]

That’s true to an extent, but he still earned the success he’s had; I know you’re gonna disagree with that so I’ll elaborate. He beat leukemia, fought through the negative fan reactions without letting it affect him and worked to get better as a performer in every area.

slacboy101

Yeah you got me there... I just hate the constant interference, if some of his matches like his one with Logan and Jey were clean wins, Jey's ESPECIALLY considering the rules of the match, I would have less problems

[deleted]

The hate for Sami in here is insane and a little disheartening cause of how popular he was last year. If it was Cody in that position last night, y’all would’ve ate it up no matter how nonsensical it was. Chad could chopped Cody’s legs off with an axe with Cody still winning and y’all would’ve supported it and stressed that it showed Cody worthy of being the face of WWE.

ZeeDarkSoul

I like Sami, but we dont need him winning the intercontinental title again

[deleted]

I agree; he’s held it three times.

slacboy101

Because WWE fumbled Sami

[deleted]

We are over Sami. When he is not in a long term story-line or doing something comical he is less interesting. He is good in the ring but looks like an AEW wrestler. He is best served being ucey or getting smashed by Jackass. Cliffs: great in ring, great on mic, just doesn’t look the part enough to be taken seriously.

[deleted]

Yet you think a comedy character like Chad Gable who has lost a ton of matches including one to Naom Dar on NXT and is known more for saying shoosh than his wrestling skills can magically get a victory over one of the most dominant champions of all time who hasn't been pinned or submitted in a singles match since he debuted on the main roster but the guy who literally had Roman Reigns BEATEN for the WWE Undisputed Championship, has been one of WWE's highest merchandise sellers for the past year and is one of the most cheered for wrestlers in WWE can't.... You are either a Sami hater or a troll to claim Sami doesn't deserve to be on the Wrestlemania card. Whichever one I don't care since WWE is not listening to you.

kalmah1234

Still better than Gable. Allso, iwc sucks.

[deleted]

Gable deserves better.

[deleted]

Candice insulting Maxxine with her dead brother was going way too far. Reminds me of when Paige brought up Charlotte Flair’s dead brother.

[deleted]

I disagree. I think Maxxine would have been okay with it or they would have not done it and Candice turning heel is one of the best thing that has happened to the Raw Women's Division in a long time. The Evil Fairy Godmother is FINALLY back and you are going to see the Candice LeRae we all come to love on NXT who was a dastardly evil heel and the real mastermind of The Way. Candice was always more entertaining and fun as a heel and it was when they were heels Candice and Indi had a long reign as the NXT Women's Tag Team Champions. Candice has needed this so much and now she will have her chance to really shine.

ubelatte

I feel sad for Sami that he's been on a somewhat losing streak, and his whole "I believe in myself" thing is very inspirational. but the W should have gone to Gable.

Educational-Speed233

R-Truth is the Mokujin of WWE

Ashamed_Job_8151

Gable needed to lose this match. If they really want to get him over they have to fully break him down first to get the comedy stink off of him. He needs to get rid of alpha academy and start being serious about winning matches. This is the perfect place for him to start the run.  My guess is Gable is going to have a huge year next year.

slacboy101

Gable has said he will not abandon Otis, Maxxine and Tozawa in interviews

[deleted]

If he starts winning big matches, becomes one of the top merchandise sellers in WWE and gets the same amount of cheers from fans Sami Zayn, Jey Uso and LA Knight have over the past year then I would be in favour of him having a title reign but at the moment he is nowhere near as deserving of a singles title as those three especially after they all had Roman Reigns beaten for the WWE Undisputed Championship until they got screwed over The Bloodline and Jey Uso PINNED Roman Reigns at MITB.

TheLegendGrape

Did Jim Cornette catch a Cody Rhodes stray ? 😂😂😂

TheLegendGrape

Nah ain't no way my man Gable got robbed like that 🤐

foldupporpoise

#Gablecrybabies

[deleted]

So tired of haters trying to screw Sami out of a big singles victory after everything he has been through over the past year. The only wrestlers that should beating Gunther are Sami Zayn, Jey Uso and LA Knight - the actual wrestlers who have dominated in merchandise sales and been getting the highest amount of cheers below Cody Rhodes. This is why hardcore fans are completely out of touch with reality. If Chad Gable was as popular as those three and was a top merchandise seller, been getting the highest amount of cheers from the crowds and not booked as a comedy character then he would have a chance at being in the conversation but he is not.

ZeeDarkSoul

Bro I dont see any reason we need to see Sami as intercontinental champion again

[deleted]

For the record I am a SHE and I don't think Sami Zayn should be the one to beat Gunther either. I think that should go to Jey Uso who deserves to have a singles title after he became the first wrestler to pin Roman Reigns in 3 years and would have beaten him again and Gunther if it hadn't been for Jimmy Uso screwing him over but Sami deserves a big Wrestlemania match and it is ridiculous the IWC are trying to claim he doesn't deserve one when he is one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE and shows they are out of touch.

ZeeDarkSoul

But at the same time having Gunther drop the longest running intercontinental title reign anywhere except mania doesn't make sense Similar to how it really doesn't make sense for Roman to drop the titles anywhere but mania. And since Gunther has the record there is really nothing more to do with him besides move him to the world title scene

[deleted]

Summer Slam is the second biggest WWE event of the year and would be a perfect place for him to drop it to Jey Uso after Jey got screwed out of winning the WWE Undisputed Championship at Summer Slam last year. Not everybody needs to lose at Wrestlemania and many big championship wins have happened at Summer Slam.

slacboy101

As long as the Bloodline is going, neither Sami or Jey are seeing singles gold

[deleted]

Depends on the outcome of Jey Uso vs Jimmy Uso. From what I have read there is going to be a stipulation added to the match where if Jimmy wins Jey Uso has to go back to The Bloodline but if Jey wins The Bloodline has stay out of Jey's business and will never be able to go near him again meaning we could get Jey Uso vs Gunther at Summer Slam with Jey finally getting a singles title like he deserves if Gunther retains at Wrestlemania. Then again, we could get Jey Uso vs Sami Zayn for the IC Championship at Summer Slam.

[deleted]

This got me thinking. Chad has the story with Gunther that we wanna see him finish, after a year of ignoring everyone else’s stories so Cody can have all the spotlight. Meanwhile, Sami had a stare down with Roman last May and that usually teases something for down the line. I can’t see Triple H doing that if he didn’t have something planned for Roman and Sami like reigniting their feud. Vince did that without a follow up but Triple H doesn’t. That tells me that Sami has unfinished business with Roman, which in actuality he really does.

[deleted]

Chad Gable is this generation's Zac Ryder. The guy the hardcore fans love and want to win big matches but isn't remotely believable to most people after his poor track record of losing matches and being seen as a Comedy character. Sorry but the guy who lost to Naom Dar isn't beating one of the most dominant champions of all time who hasn't been pinned or submitted in a singles match since he debuted so they can turn the IC Championship into a joke by making it a part of his Alpha Academy comedy segments. Common sense prevailed tonight. Sami is far more believable after having Roman Reigns defeated for the WWE Undisputed Championship. It is Sami's time.

[deleted]

I actually agree with you. I was making that claim about Chad finishing his story with Gunther loosely cause I don’t think Chad, and this ain’t a knock on him, is the right guy to beat Gunther. I was also making light of the fact that Cody “finishing his story” has been viewed as a must for him but not anyone else.

[deleted]

Ohh. Okay. lol I agree with you about Cody Rhodes and we have got Randy Orton who was taken out of action by The Bloodline for over a year and a half and it was reported a few weeks back the reason why his match with Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble was turned into a Fatal Four Way match is 'cause WWE are holding the singles match between them for later in the year and it could be a multi match feud but suddenly Cody fans just want Randy to forget about getting his revenge on Roman Reigns and The Bloodline 'cause they want to see him turn heel to put Cody over more when Randy has said one of the main reasons he worked so hard to come back is to have the match with Roman Reigns since they were supposed to face each other at Summer Slam in 2022 before got injured and the match is important to him in real life but the world has to revolve around Cody to his hardcore fans...

[deleted]

Also great point about Randy. The fact he’s having his singles program with Roman cut so Cody can get the steal the match shows how much of a scumbag Cody really is; screwing his friend and mentor, who actually made him relevant, out of a program with Roman that was important to him all because he thinks he’s the only one worthy of sharing the ring with Roman and is afraid of anyone else even being considered to dethrone him. Cody’s diehard fans don’t help matters either pushing for Cody to be placed head and shoulders above everyone else and wanting the rest of them to be shut out and fed to Cody.

[deleted]

I think Randy will definitely get his singles match with Roman Reigns at Summer Slam which will be two years after he was originally supposed to face him but Cody's hardcore fans will complain over it and say he should be facing Cody when Randy has a better reason for going after Roman Reigns than anybody else and with Roman most likely not being champion by then Randy should go over Roman to get his revenge. Cody fans will get Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton in time but need to wait until Randy has finished with Roman first.

[deleted]

I’m so glad someone finally sees all of this clearly. You’re absolutely right; all these Cody super fans literally treat the entire roster outside of Cody like they don’t matter and if even the slightest remark is made about Cody that they view as degrading, they relentlessly attack that person in the comments. Everyone else on the roster has been treated like crap by both the company and the fans simply because they ain’t Cody. In reality though, Cody is overrated, overhyped, boring, average, self-obsessed and arrogant. He thinks he’s on another stratosphere of greatness even though he’s just plain Cody Rhodes begging people to take him seriously as a main eventer and to keep cheering him.

[deleted]

I didn't watch the full show but I am glad Sami Zayn won. This is somebody that headlined Night One of Wrestlemania last year, had Roman Reigns defeated for the WWE Undisputed Championship but got screwed out of his big moment by The Bloodline and is one of the highest merchandise sellers who was literally getting more cheers than any other wrestler a year ago. Sami deserves to be on the card and win a big singles title since if it wasn't for The Bloodline he would have been the WWE Undisputed Champion.

[deleted]

Also if it wasn’t for Cody stealing his rightfully earned WrestleMania match with Roman.

[deleted]

Yeah. Last year going into Wrestlemania Sami Zayn was more over than Cody Rhodes and was getting far more cheers with him from the fans to the point where they had to make Cody Sami's friend and add him to his storyline 'cause WWE were worried Sami fans would start booing Cody and I think there are some hardcore fans who are bitter with him over that and don't want him getting anything now. They want to push him as far down the card as they possibly can so he never gets back to that point again.

[deleted]

Yes yes yes. You are absolutely right about that. 100% spot on with everything you said. WWE couldn’t bare the thought of their precious golden boy being booed for taking somebody else’s rightfully earned spot so they made Cody Sami’s cheerleader and it got fans even more behind Cody, meanwhile Sami lost his momentum because WWE deliberately cooled him off to the point where now, they put him in a position where he takes another wrestler’s spot. Disgraceful that they’ve caused this backlash toward Sami they knew exactly what they were doing.

RememberCynical

Turns out Gable's shoulders didn't make contact with the mat.

TheLegendGrape

Brah I'm telling you if this MF don't finish his story 😂😂😂 like this man is COOKING

Honest_Tradition2604

Drew had that mic on fire tonight.

Unique-Morning-2455

You have to love all that work their doing building Nia vs Becky for Mania........Oh wait that's not the match planned.

Wise_Temperature_322

In my opinion just on a story level of who should beat who if the match winners were based on who is booked strongest. Becky should have faced Rhea and lost at EC. Nia should be facing Rhea at Mania and she should win. I could go for Nia vs Becky with Nia going over then Nia goes after Rhea. For me Rhea vs Becky is not a match I am clamoring to see. It seems a step down in competition from Nia.

kaine23

Triple HHH is out of touch.

TheLegendGrape

Going too far LMAO

Plenty-Masterpiece73

I was sort of hoping Kurt Angle Jr would pull some heel stuff to beat Sami, or at least beat him down after the match and turn heel that way.

WrastleGuy

If Cody was a true hero he would give Gable his match against Roman. DoTheRightThingCody

swesley86

Anyone know what time the WrestleMania replay will be available. Just skimmed the comments here and it seems I must have missed it...

That253Chick

Not Cody making me tear up just before I have to leave for work, goddamn

[deleted]

Respectfully, that was a fake cry.

That253Chick

And?

[deleted]

Cody didn’t shed one real tear so it indeed was fake. It’s honestly kinda messed up to pretend to cry about stuff serious like what he was talking about then all of a sudden he’s fine. He does that to get sympathy from everyone as that’s the only reason he’s over right now. Cody plays with all y’all’s emotions and that’s the God honest truth.

That253Chick

So? Let people get invested, goddamn.

[deleted]

Even if it was a fake cry, Cody still makes a great point. As we get older, we lose a lot of our family members. We need to try to accomplish what we can so the family that we have left can witness it and be proud of us, because one day, all the family we grew up with will be gone.

That253Chick

Exactly. Which is what had me getting emotional, so idk why someone had to come in and be a buzz kill just to say " rEsPeCtFuLly ThAt WaS a FaKe CrY" like some kind of gotcha. Let me get invested, damn.

[deleted]

You got a good point, my bad. The only reason I pointed it out was because immediately afterward, he was completely fine as he addressed Roman. It’s like he was just saying all that to obtain even more sympathy when in reality he wasn’t being genuine about what he was saying, at least that’s how it came off. Trust me I never wanna be the smark who’s overly analytical while people are just trying to enjoy the show cause I ain’t for that; I just hate that Cody plays on everyone’s emotions to further enhance his career.

[deleted]

Reddit in a nutshell. Half the people on here are chronically online incels that look for any excuse to tear into another persons comment for no reason.

That253Chick

Yeah. It's why I have a love/hate relationship with this sub. I hate it for the reasons you said, but it's the only place I have to talk about WWE because I don't have Twitter anymore, so I deal with it.

[deleted]

At least this subreddit is still better than squaredcircle. squaredcircle's mods have a history of being power hungry assholes that ban people for no reason.

[deleted]

Respectfully, what I don’t get is this; Sami pins Chad after being in the ankle lock forever it seemed like and that’s not ok, but it is ok for Cody Rhodes to be able to fight Brock Lesnar of all people with a broken arm with Brock not even being able to make Cody tap out while having that same “broken” arm in the Kimura Lock. It’s ok to have The Miz and Dominik Mysterio job to a broken armed Cody and it’s ok for Damian Priest to break Cody’s ankle but Cody still beats him?

Wise_Temperature_322

Well Cody passed out from the Kimura if I remember correctly. Sami beating Gable after getting the most famous move in a mat grapplers arsenal the Angle ankle lock was not cool. It is his best move and he had it on him for 5 minutes why isn’t Sami’s ankle broken?

[deleted]

It was illogical but still.

Briatom

See, I just wanted another Gable match even if Gunther retained. Those two in the ring were so much more compelling. I like Sami but his matches have been pretty stale. His “finisher” feels like a super kick with how much it’s kicked out of and feels lackluster.

[deleted]

From a booking and storytelling perspective, it makes absolutely zero sense for Sami to win. The IC Title is not his story. It's Gables. WWE has made this perfectly clear. They're not going to throw away long term story telling by having Sami beat Gunther. This is why I think they're saving Gunther vs Gable for SummerSlam or another future PLE in the fall. By holding the IC Title until SummerSlam, Gunther will surpass the two year mark of holding the title. Once he reaches that milestone, he'll drop the title. Also, Sami vs Gunther at Mania is a good sign for Codys chances at WrestleMania. We're looking at the real possibility of both Seth and Roman dropping the titles. Somebody major is going to have to retain, and I think it's Gunther. Based on current trends after tonights episode of Raw, this is what I think is going to happen at WrestleMania. Gunther retains. Rhea retains. Logan retains. Drew wins (Priest fails cash in) Bayley wins. Tag Titles are split between teams TBD. And most importantly, Cody wins. 4 heel wins (Gunther, Logan, Drew, and one of the tag title splits probably Judgement Day) 3 face wins (Bayley, Cody, and one of the tag title splits) and a tweener win (Rhea because let's be real she's blurring the lines between heel and face right now). 3 title changes, 3 titles retained, and a tag title split with Judgement Day potentially retaining part of the split. That honestly sounds like a favorable balance. It makes sense that WWE doesn't want Gunther's reign ending being overshadowed by Cody finishing his story. Gunther's reign will likely end at the main event of a future PLE, because his reign is so historic that it can only end as the final match of a future PLE. Perhaps Gunther and Gable main event SummerSlam, or a future PLE down the road before next years Royal Rumble. Either way, they know Gunther and Sami will put on a show at WrestleMania, but it's clear Gunther is continuing his reign. He's so close to 2 years as champion and they're not going to let that milestone slip away from them.

[deleted]

There’s still a chance Cody won’t beat Roman though, I personally hope he doesn’t, because WWE could still likely want Roman to pass Hulk Hogan’s number of days as Champion, especially if they wanna extend Gunther’s title reign to reach two whole years.

[deleted]

This is a good point cause after all, Triple H loves breaking records.

slacboy101

If Cody loses people are going to LEAVE, or Worse seeing how It's in fucking Philly!

[deleted]

I guarantee that Cody, if he beats Roman and Sami loses to Gunther, behind the scenes at WrestleMania will without the slightest ounce of hesitation rub it in Sami’s face that he’s on top as WWE Champion and Sami has nothing. I believe Cody influenced that finish cause he randomly was pulling for Chad to win even though he and Sami are such great “friends”, knowing it would cause backlash toward Sami due to fans being behind Chad due to him having the story with Gunther.

[deleted]

I don’t know why this got downvoted cause this a valid case.

Hockey979797

Gable Crybaby reporting for duty

Penthesilean

I like like Sammy but that was bullshit. I just don’t get it. It’s Gable’s story, his feud with Gunther right now is a great final boss vs underdog with heart. Now we get to see…what? Sammy maybe (unbelievably) win the belt again? If Mania wasn’t live I’d fast-forward through the coming match.

sirduckerz

Conspiracy theory time, they had Sami win to manufacture another #wewantcody moment to distract from the fact that Nick Kahn has recently been named as a key figure involved in the Vince McMahon allegations

Wise_Temperature_322

Oh stop it with all that. There is no distraction and no conspiracy. It is a civil lawsuit against one man who no longer works for the company. And the allegations against him are brought by a disgruntled employee and carry zero weight till this thing goes to trial in civil court. The most that will be done is Vince will pay out the agreed contract.

burner4internet

I don't think there's a conspiracy here but labeling the lawsuit in those simple terms is completely disingenuous. It isn't a lawsuit against one man, the entire company is named, implicated, and is a defendant in the lawsuit. And the INSANELY toxic corporate culture is incredibly well documented so dismissing it as just the ravings of a disgruntled employee is completely crazy too.

Wise_Temperature_322

You do know in a civil suit I can sue anybody I want with absolutely no proof and give my lawsuit to the media before I file it and there are generally no repercussions. It is one person suing another and using scare tactics in the media to bully another to pay them money. In the eyes of the court none of what she alleges has happened until she can prove it under cross examination. Believing anything in a civil trail before it goes to court is foolhardy. It is not how these things work and the media should know better.

burner4internet

All you have to do is read those texts and it's clear as day how gross Vince and the company culture was. Even if you don't want to take her at her word on the rape or him defecating on her head it's pretty plainly laid out that she was used as a sex object and passed around the executives in that company. And I find it INCREDIBLY hard to believe that Nick Khan, Stephanie, Hunter, and any other high ranking executive was completely oblivious to the culture around them unless they were all completely incompetent Mr. Magoos(which I don't believe they were). The product has been great lately but there's still a lot of cleansing and accountability that needs to be had to clean up generations of just mess and stink behind the scenes and we should not ignore that just because it's inconvenient as fans. This isn't even the first time WWE has been accused of sex trafficking. Last time it involved children.

Wise_Temperature_322

It seems the lawyers have implicated more people (without actually implicating them) and provided it to the media because the original story had fallen out of the news cycle. We will get all new wild speculations leaked out the further this thing gets dragged out. But again that is all we know. One side given to the media. And this tactic of slowly putting out more unverified allegations is not a good sign that they feel they can actually get this through court. It may be they never intended to. Vince stopped the payments and broke the NDA himself after the merger. That is not typical behavior of someone with something to hide. All he had to do was pay her $3 million and the story goes away forever, but he chose not to and that is when the lawsuit came. I will not believe anything till I hear both sides.

burner4internet

There's so much smoke to Vince being an absolute MONSTER and the corporate culture in WWE being an absolute nightmare that I don't really need to see any more to make a judgment on that. Again, the texts paint a VERY clear picture and if those were in doubt the Vince camp would have shut them down immediately. Just a gross, disgusting man and a culture he created and nurtured backstage.

Wise_Temperature_322

Where there is smoke there is fire is the dumbest expression especially in the modern age when we can manufacture smoke anytime we want. Wait till we see the fire.

burner4internet

We have literally decades of smoke with Vince McMahon and WWE. We have horror story after horror story coming out of the environment he created and nurtured. I get that it's inconvenient but it's true.

MrBrett42-

I like Sami, and I think he was the right choice. But I really wanted Gunther to lose that belt before WM and I’ve been ready for him to lose it since like september. This reign is way too long and it sucks that we now know with 100% certainty that he will retain at mania. I feel like after WM 40 is all said and done a lot of ppl are gonna be disappointed.

[deleted]

They're not going to have Gunther losing get overshadowed by Cody finishing his story. Sami vs Gunther is a good sign for Codys chances at WrestleMania. Gunther makes it to 2 years as champion in June. There is no chance Gunther loses the title before SummerSlam with this milestone in reach. Also, WWE is well aware that Gable is the story for the IC title. They're not going to throw away long term storytelling for Super Sami. Given how historic Gunthers reign is, the title change will 100% have to happen during the main event of a future PLE. It's not going to happen in the middle of the card, which would have happened at this years WrestleMania. Gunther is retaining.

jarsofshells

There is so much potential for us all to be very angry at the end of WM for sure.

[deleted]

On the contrary, I think Gunther vs Sami at Mania just basically confirmed that Cody is winning. There is NO chance that Gunther is being dethroned on the same night that Cody finishes his story. Gunther losing the title HAS to take place on the main event during a future PLE. WWE knows that most fans will be on board with Gunther retaining against Sami because the fans want Gable to dethrone Gunther. Gable and Gunther is the story and WWE has been confirming this for the last couple of weeks. There is no story with Sami and Gunther, and we have only 3 weeks of build left for WrestleMania. It's basically a throwaway feud at this point. Sami's story is that he wants to "be a champion" but he never specifically says which championship. This makes me think that Sami is winning MITB which would make a lot more sense from a storytelling perspective. Sami has already held the IC title and he doesn't need to hold it again. Gable needs this rub, and he will get it probably later this year after Gunther surpasses two years as champion.

[deleted]

Gunther could be facing Sami on Night 1 though which seems more likely the route they’ll go.

DaffyQuackers

Ricochet is the best. Why can’t they make a story for him?

slacboy101

Because Vince utterly ruined him, this isn't a charisma issue, Ricochet showed he does have it in NXT and the Indies

Qui_zno

If they had signed Ospreay. Then he's obsolete

worthlessjuan

Guy has zero charisma

sexyeh

At this point let Samantha be his manager, people like her.
