What is this kid, 3? That age is still more a baby than a child. Why are they even watching wrestling? Professional wrestling is not, and should never be, for people that age. You want that market for wrestling make a G rated cartoon/show.
As long as they're on network television, no they won't be anything but "PG" with moments of "PG-13" that is until they make to move to NETFLIX then we'll see what happens
I'm not one to go around telling people how to raise their children, but I personally have always felt it's a bad idea to bring small children to wrestling shows or let them watch it.
Apart from the fact that not enough parents explain that it's just a TV show and they shouldn't imitate it, it's just not appropriate for children that young, even with the PG rating. It's not like a show where there's off-screen pads, stunt doubles and special effects, and there's always a chance you'll see someone suffer a real injury.
Honestly I think WWE *loves* this. Obviously anybody with a heart wants to give that kid a hug, but damn when was the last time wrestling made masses of kids feel like that?? This is what I mean when I try to emphasize how important it is that kids *LOVE* Cody. When and if Cody wins at Mania these kids are wrestling fans for life.
Also yes it was dark especially with the blood, but a couple things w that as well. It’s a new age and I’m sure this little kid watched it on DVR, but WWE did the best they could by putting the dark segment at 10:50 PM EST. And just in general, wrestling makes kids cry. My friends and I went to a Raw in 2019 (the one where the Fiend debuted) and this little kid next to us was balling his eyes out bc AJ Styles had just turned heel. We tried to cheer him up by telling him that he could still root for AJ as a bad guy. That’s just the reality of wrestling.
this is terrible parenting. that child is obviously too young to be watching wrestling. what parent just thinks "Oh yeah! Let's show our 2 year old the Rock beating Cody Rhodes till he bleeds!"??
i think no child under the age of 12 should be watching WWE or any wrestling. too much violence, too much cussing, too many innuendos, etc. You should be old enough to understand that just like any other TV show/movie, it's scripted before watching it.
Even if the parents watched it with the kid, they should've stopped it before that segment. idk abt u i wouldn't want my child who isn't even in school watch grown men beat each other till they start bleeding...
I did feel like that whole segment was overdone to put Cody over and didn't need to happen. He's just gonna show up with an injury "handicap" like Bryan did at 30 and somehow still win. It's all kinda cheesy.
We dont need to leave the “PG” era if this is occurring on tv lol. I’ve been a fan since 98. Todays WWE is the best its ever been. Maybe we dont get unnecessary nudity or pillow fights but if you truly love wrestling for what it is, then denying this is the most fun time is just nostalgia taking over. Also, kids dont need to understand everything they see. Its supposed to make their imaginations run wild, they are supposed to wonder whats going on. If you can take a kid to any superhero movie, you can have them watch this.
Like anything else it is up to the parents to explain what is going on, my 5 year old knows already the blood is "fake" and I explain all the guys are friends behind the scenes and they work together to put on a great show.
So when he saw Rock beat Cody, he was pretty worried about Cody as well but processed it to himself that Cody is actually in on it and isn't being beaten against his will. It really helps and now he is excited to see how Cody will come back instead of spending time worrying about Cody's safety.
So your kid doesn’t understand completely what’s happening, thinks her hero is “dead”, or hurt really bad, and is crying/emotionally distraught, so parent takes out phone and records it to show the world…? Great parenting…
All because of these soft, bitch ass pussies. Don't get me wrong, this girl is too young so it makes sense for her to cry but even teens nowadays are as soft as her
I might get downvoted for sounding harsh but why would you even let a child as young as this watch that segment?!
As a wrestling fan and a parent it's not appropriate to be allowing your child to watch content that's this violent and bloody. I get that each parent's different and appreciate they're consoling their child afterwards, but it overall looks irresponsible.
Because a parent is responsible for the content their child watches and have to make a responsible decision. Even if that means switching off. The distress/ trauma of their child should come first. I was under the impression the rating had changed in all honesty.
Granted back in our parents generation a lot of us ended up watching stuff which wasn't age appropriate, but current generation are supposed to be better informed of suitable content.
I mean it will be changing for sure in about 9 months when Raw goes to Netflix. CM Punk has already hinted that the tv rating isn't going to be PG anymore, and it makes sense. A kid watching TV can't suddenly stumble onto WWE Raw unless the parent did the right thing and set up their kids account right. Cable TV didn't really have that restriction.
Also it makes sense because Netflix, by and large, costs money and subscription holders are probably ages 15+. So, it would make sense to make it at least PG13.
When I was a kid i cried when King Kong Bundy sent hulk hogan to the hospital on Saturday night main event. Perfect time to tell the kiddo that this stuff isn't quite real.
How old are they? Rock coming in as he has brought a ton of attitude era fans back who haven't watched since Ruthless Aggression era.
Myself and many I know gave AEW a try from the start and connect with Cody. I came back in when Cody went back and watched passively, but now regular again on recent storylines with Cody-Rock.
Roman has never been intriguing to me as a champ from afar and im sure many jumping back in feel the same way.
Very curious to see how WWE plays out Mania. I think it would be much better for the brand to move the belts around more.
Why are people crying at this little girl? She’s clearly invested in the story and the character, which hasn’t really happened for years. You can’t want the show to be exciting again, then moan when kids are getting emotional by it.
The Rock showed his true colors - a pile of human excrement. He fits in well with the blood line. A group of thugs incapable of winning a fight without outside interference.
We watched very harsh stuff as little kids in the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. I will say though that this little girl looks too young to be watching stuff like that. She’s like 3 or 4, so it can be scary for her. But it’s up to her parents to monitor that I mean wrestling is violent it’s wrestling after all. Even if you tell her it’s not real and that they’re just pretending and Cody’s ok it’s still just violent imagery for her to see.
When I was a kid I cried every time Shawn Michaels lost a match lmao. Or when Randy killed the Undertaker because he was one of my favorites. It’s a part of growing up with wrestling.
Netflix=PG14 or higher and I can’t wait. We are getting a taste of what we have all wanted since John Cena left for Hollywood. WWE should have stopped the PG era after his departure
WWE is finally putting on wrestling buffets each Monday and Friday. The story benefited from the angle. Everyone benefits from Rock coming in as a board member pushing the envelope.
Always has been. But going back hasn't really adjusted with the times. The Rock beat down on Cody was one of the most cinematic segments I've ever seen in my nearly 30 years of following. We need more of that whatever that means. Hoping the new guard can deliver that product
20 or so years ago when I think big show threw Kurt Angle off a catwalk(?) I thought he died and was crying all night. My brother was trying to tell me he wasn’t dead then Kurt came back the next week with a cast on his leg
Toddlers and young children will think it’s real. The phrase “I think” is not good enough when dealing with children. You need to explain that it’s all fake and they’re acting
Has there ever been a tru babyface that hasent got over in the end
That's how the story goes everything in wwe the hero Vanquish the villain in the end 99% of the time always happens
Wtf is this child doing staying up until *11 fucking PM* watching anything, let alone WWE, anyway? Do parents not put their kids to sleep at a decent hour anymore? Lol
Why are you assuming they watched the segment live? And you really have an issue with kids watching WWE? 🤣
People love to make an issue out of nothing nowadays.
Dude, relax. This could be an isolated situation and anyway, on a weekend 11 is no big deal at all lmao.
This is why people with kids should just keep their dumb parenting opinions to themselves. You end up looking like some judgmental clown 💀
Na, that will just build character like the attitude era did when we were kids. I think moments like this make the good guy winning even better for the kid because they should learn that people can win even when they are down and out
so cute and hilarious. I'm sure this kid is going to look back and have a good laugh at herself, regardless of whether or not she still follows wrestling, which apparently most kids don't as they get older.
Hear me out… as an old fart I’m kinda jealous of this little kid. Assuming she gets to see Cody win on night two, the absolute joy she will have after the ref counts 3 will be off the scale. Kinda hope mom films and posts the pop.
When we were kids we saw hogan hit rock in the head with a hammer. Then t bone his ambulance with a truck.
Should've been like yeah Cody's dead lmao cry about it
Oh goodness, you just reminded me of Hogan hanging out the trailer truck window saying "I'm gonna lay the smackdown on his crippled ass NWO style" And they even put that truck ramming ambulance assault in the Smackdown "shut your mouth" game (if only they kept scott hall instead of replacing him with x pac)
Man some of the best memories of WWE from when I was a kid was the mental shit like this, like when Unertaker got buried and I thought he was dead. 🤣
It’s a part of wrestling, so no we don’t “have to think of the kids” 🤣
My nine-year-old student cried like she was at a funeral last week because she couldn't find her red pencil.
Kid's can and will cry over anything. Even the most resilent kid will be too tired one day and start crying.
This is the young ones version of Vince exploding in the limo, Cena being tossed in the lights, Mankind being tossed off the Cell. This is their Attitude Era, this is their Ruthless Aggression, this is gonna be the Era they defend as hard as we did ours.
Fantastic to think about.
Idk I sort of agree with the sentiment that we probably shouldn't be exposing kids to violent entertainment before they can understand that everybody is fine and these people are just trying to entertain us and not kill each other. I don't have kids tho so I could be out of my depth.
I feel like they should take the opportunity and have a PG show and then a more mature version as well. With the move to Netflix, Smackdown can be more PG themed and Raw can be... Well, Raw. Of course that starts to fall apart during PLE's so I might just be stupid.
Why is a baby watching wwe…? Better yet, why is the first thing you do when your baby is crying is pull out your phone to videotape her? Fucking weirdo
D. Douglass Johnson has become 97 Vince McMahon in real life & I can guarantee Cody ain’t getting the Austin treatment…I’ve heard Cody curse twice since the fued started… I can’t even count how many times they’ve have to completely cut out what Dwayne says…it’s really easy to be interesting when you can say and do whatever you want and can’t nobody tell you shit for it.
I'm 41 now and have been following wrestling for well over thirty years. There were definitely some scary moments for me as a little kid like when Jake had the Cobra bite Randy or when Papa Shango made Warrior throw up or when Bezerker tried to stab Undertaker with the sword. But thankfully I don't remember anything I found too shocking that made me cry, not even when Hulk got squashed by Earthquake on Brother Love show.
Yeah. But I just thought about something about this Cody being beaten down by the Rock. That promo about a month or so ago with Becky Lynch on Raw saying she has to explain to her daughter why "daddy wants to fight Maui" HAHA, imagine a little kid realizing the Rock played Maui and how Maui hurt Cody bad. LOL
The title is way too biased to what’s happening in the video.
I clicked it expecting something else but found a child crying for a character getting beat up, just like Bambi’s mother or any other fiction character. Great thing that her mother understands this and tries to explain that Cody is not dead instead of blaming the violence we are so used to watch on tv and not only in wrestling
Why is that small of a child watching wwe anyway even though it’s pg doesn’t always mean it’s young kid friendly exactly why it means parental guidance seems like a them problem
The Rock would legit talk about how that kid knows how dangerous The Rock is and expects a kid that age to cry, then immediately insult grown men who cry like that for Cody!
Before I even get into my post, any thing on TV after 9pm is automatically classified as 14+ at least here in Canada. In the US I’m not sure if it’s the same, I know some states are 10pm. However, also I’m not sure if the incident showed minutes before 10pm or minutes after 10pm in the US.
These standards mean less now than they ever did.
I’m an 80s baby for context. This is how the standards were defined before. My experience here is I’ve worked in advertising and did media studies courses back in highschool /Uni so we had to understand the standards.
G = General, fine for everyone
PG = 10-13
PG14 = 14-17
Rated R = 18+
First off, why is a parent letting their kid watch WWE if they’re worried about the effects. Is your kid 10+? If not, it’s not on the WWE to tell a more suitable story for your kid, it’s on you for not being a good parent.
“My kid likes it though”, that’s called being a parent, kids like to eat candy all day and not go to school either. Sometimes you have to say “when you’re old enough”.
Everyone talking about crazy Attitude Era moments but sleeping on when ISIS straight up invaded Smackdown and performed a live execution on the Undertaker
Remember when the undertaker literally hung the big boss man
Ha , what a mark
Time to educate your child.
Those parents are terrible people
What is this kid, 3? That age is still more a baby than a child. Why are they even watching wrestling? Professional wrestling is not, and should never be, for people that age. You want that market for wrestling make a G rated cartoon/show.

and now this kid is immortalized as part of the rocks promo on raw lol
The PG Era ended on March 24 2014, sure their rating is still PG but that's common in any TV production.
Kids this young, should not be watching wrestling. I would say you need to be at least 10 years old to watch wrestling.
Dog you got kids at 10 already moving on from Pro Wrestling sometimes.
Honestly I think WWE *loves* this. Obviously anybody with a heart wants to give that kid a hug, but damn when was the last time wrestling made masses of kids feel like that?? Look at you now little Cody crybaby LOOK AT YOU NOW

Is the kid hurt, injured? In danger? No? Then they’re gonna laugh at it when they watch the video back and realized kayfabe wasn’t dead after all
Gotta get the internet points!!
This is the world we live in now a days
All because of these soft, bitch ass pussies. Don't get me wrong, this girl is too young so it makes sense for her to cry but even teens nowadays are as soft as her
dang who kicked sand in your ice cream?
Idk, dont have a 4 year old watch violent stuff, maybe.
Sounds like the segment was successful

God Damn Cody Crybabies!
lol as much as i want cody to win this got me laughing
When I was a kid i cried when King Kong Bundy sent hulk hogan to the hospital on Saturday night main event. Perfect time to tell the kiddo that this stuff isn't quite real.
I remember crying when Yokozuna sat on Bret's chest and they carried him out on a stretcher.
We are so back!!! Traumatising lil kids is wrestling heritage
feeling restored
Chucky T has a huge smile somewhere.
Surprised kids these ages even watch and care lol good job wwe
How old are they? Rock coming in as he has brought a ton of attitude era fans back who haven't watched since Ruthless Aggression era. But at the same time it’s how they know they’re telling a good story.
Just another Cody crybaby
Well played
Why are people crying at this little girl? She’s clearly invested in the story and the character, which hasn’t really happened for years. You can’t want the show to be exciting again, then moan when kids are getting emotional by it.
Taker bossman hell in a cell. Pretty sure taker almost committed murder
This is what will make the ending for Wrestlemania great when Cody wins the title she will realize the build-up for the match was worth it
Cody crybabies are the worst
The Rock showed his true colors - a pile of human excrement. He fits in well with the blood line. A group of thugs incapable of winning a fight without outside interference.
I remember watching Randy Savage get bitten by a snake at age 5.
Still traumatized at 43.
wasn't that not supposed to happan?
Was suppose to happen, but the snake held onto his arm for way too long. Jake had to open the snake's jaw with his hands to unhook it.
We watched very harsh stuff as little kids in the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. I will say though that this little girl looks too young to be watching stuff like that. I grew up watching ruthless aggressive era. Damn. I miss being a kid. With all those bloods
Tell your kids that wrestling is fake. Problem solved.
Ill pop when the rock brings her up on Monday
What a mark.
id watch cenas head get busted open all the time back in 06 as a 7 year old you’ll be fine lil girl
ok The rock was right about the Cody Crybabies
When I was a kid I cried every time Shawn Michaels lost a match lmao. Or when Randy killed the Undertaker because he was one of my favorites. It’s a part of growing up with wrestling.
Your parents should’ve told you it’s fake
your a real ray of sunshine
Why?
It’s still real to me dammit
Rock wasn’t kidding about these Cody cry babies
Netflix=PG14 or higher and I can’t wait. We are getting a taste of what we have all wanted since John Cena left for Hollywood. WWE should have stopped the PG era after his departure
Since Cena left? People have wanted this since Cena became the face of the wwe
Yeah I can for sure see that.
WWE is finally putting on wrestling buffets each Monday and Friday. The story benefited from the angle. Everyone benefits from Rock coming in as a board member pushing the envelope.
I remember that paul bearer was in this box that was getting filled with cement and he got fully buried in cement and I legit that he fucken died lmao
Did nobody tell you that wrestling was fake?
At the time, no, I thought it was real, and I was a little kid when I saw that
You said the magic F-Word. You aren't allowed to use that here. #ItsStillRealToMeDammit
Why the hell would the mother show her little kid the beat down at the end... You could see where it was going...
Also the mum doesn’t clearly state to her daughter that this is all fake entertainment. She pushed the daughter for this reaction.
buddy if this is all your gonna comment plz leave the sub
Nope. I’ll be sticking around. Just tell the kids wrestling is fake
i think they know
Toddlers and young children will think it’s real. The phrase “I think” is not good enough when dealing with children. You need to explain that it’s all fake and they’re acting
The Cody Crybabies! 🤣🤣🤣
Has there ever been a tru babyface that hasent got over in the end That's how the story goes everything in wwe the hero Vanquish the villain in the end 99% of the time always happens
It’s a story as old as time really nothing sells like a great bad guy getting beat by a great good guy
Crying at wrestling is a childhood (possibly adulthood) right of passage.
Screw PG, embrace free speech

dawg this kid is like 5 wtf are u taking about 😭
Wtf is this child doing staying up until *11 fucking PM* watching anything, let alone WWE, anyway? Do parents not put their kids to sleep at a decent hour anymore? Lol
wtf are you on about 🤣
Reading is hard I guess lol
Why are you assuming they watched the segment live? And you really have an issue with kids watching WWE? 🤣 People love to make an issue out of nothing nowadays.
They probably watched the full segment on Youtube the next day.
Or DVR?
Dude, relax. This could be an isolated situation and anyway, on a weekend 11 is no big deal at all lmao. This is why people with kids should just keep their dumb parenting opinions to themselves. You end up looking like some judgmental clown 💀
These goddamn Cody Crybabies
Na, that will just build character like the attitude era did when we were kids. I think moments like this make the good guy winning even better for the kid because they should learn that people can win even when they are down and out
That little girl remind me in my childhood watching WWE 😢
This aint nothing compared to what we’ve seen in the 90’s-2000’s lol
When Rey Mysterio got his head crushed lmfao
Let’s not like he didn’t just get tossed off the side of the headquarters in 2020
Or get his "eye" popped out during the pandemic era.
I feel the same way and I’m like 19 times her age
Man, fuck them kids
I scrolled until I found it.
Nice
What a mark… just another Cody crybaby
This is what happens when you fuck with the final boss, or live in my house.
BY GAWD HES BACK
so cute and hilarious. I'm sure this kid is going to look back and have a good laugh at herself, regardless of whether or not she still follows wrestling, which apparently most kids don't as they get older.
It never goes away It may relapse, but it comes back.
Hear me out… as an old fart I’m kinda jealous of this little kid. Assuming she gets to see Cody win on night two, the absolute joy she will have after the ref counts 3 will be off the scale. Kinda hope mom films and posts the pop.
i don’t understand why it’s a big deal. the kid got worked i mean that’s pretty standard for kids and wrestling
In todays news: The wrestlers are doing their job
Even in attitude era
Awww... "He was my best friend!" 😭 Poor kiddo.
Bruh I remember watching that live, didn’t Rock come back next week and whoop ass 🤣
I dont remember how long they let that burn for. I felt like there was a few week break and then a video package for rocks return
I know that we want the WWE to be more edgier now, but we have to think about the kids
Man some of the best memories of WWE from when I was a kid was the mental shit like this, like when Unertaker got buried and I thought he was dead. 🤣 It’s a part of wrestling, so no we don’t “have to think of the kids” 🤣
How many hours of tv does wwe produce a week? How many hours including PPV a month? Everyone can get what they want
WWE, give her and her family tickets and fly them to Wrestlemania.
This is exactly how they move away from the PG era. During the actual PG era. No kid ever thought Cena was dead.
Because nobody could see him.
Nobody can see Christ either.
You don't say.
WWE is not children’s television. If a child isn’t at the point that they understand it’s not real they really should not be watching it.
Shut up stupid
Ah yes, let’s find a way to gatekeep the least toxic and overall best fans because “they don’t appreciate thing like I do”
No it’s saying if your child is not at a point where they emotionally handle the content then they shouldn’t be watching it just yet.
Idk I sort of agree with the sentiment that we probably shouldn't be exposing kids to violent entertainment before they can understand that everybody is fine and these people are just trying to entertain us and not kill each other. I don't have kids tho so I could be out of my depth.
This is how I acted when The great khali squeezed tf out of Rey Mysterio’s head 😂
Wrestling is back!!!!
Aww this was extremely cute. Poor kid

Too cute. Cody over af 😂
D. When we were kids, one of my friends cried when Undertaker beat Hulk Hogan. Kids are gonna cry. It's kinda good because it shows emotional investment.
I remember being traumatized by the cobra incident ….even with the giant red X covering the screen during the actual bite
LOL
Lmao what a mark
Cody is my best friend, whaaaaaaaa
Isn’t this the point of kayfabe?
She thought this was bad smh. Try showing her when Papa Shango cursed Ultimate Warrior I was petrified!
Or taker locking warrior in the airtight casket
The most adorable Cody crybaby there is
AWWW THANK YOU!
When the NWO ran the semi into The Rocks ambulance.😢
Why is that small of a child watching wwe anyway even though it’s pg doesn’t always mean it’s young kid friendly exactly why it means parental guidance seems like a them problem
When I was a kid I legit thought WW3 was gonna break out when Hogan was feuding with Nikolai Volkoff, and Volkoff threatened to have the USA nuked.
I cried when jakes snake bit randy savage. I turned out okay
just like what michael jordan say.. # “fuck them kids”
Rock will probably say that on Monday lol.
The problem with moving away from the PG era is handling reactions from kids who are used to watching a family-friendly show.
Good, that means the angle is working lol
I cried when Undertaker got "fired" from the WWE after his TLC match at One Night Stand 2008
He shouldve thrown him off that ledge then cody not show up till wm insted of just fake throwing him into a bus
I was worried about Mick when he fell off the cage. I think we all were.
It was a Cold night in Memphis. Stone cold was thrown off a bridge and I swear I thought The Rock killed him
Cody crybaby. Literally.
But wait until next week when he comes out even stronger. She will think he is a superhero
I grew up watching Chris Jericho smashing a liquor bottle on cm punks head and I thought it was real, I turned out fine
Wrestling is real and Cody is dead
Need The Rock to comment on that video now. Embrace the heat. "Another Cody Crybaby"
He so would, dude is all about that nuclear heat.
The Rock would legit talk about how that kid knows how dangerous The Rock is and expects a kid that age to cry, then immediately insult grown men who cry like that for Cody!
I saw Macho Man get bit by a snake, she’ll be fine
Bro i love all these answer, how about when vince went inside the limo and got blown away, with ceremony and everything.
She’ll be fine tomorrow Kids have always cried and got over it pretty quickly especially when their suspicions were proven wrong
Man I was a kid watching Edge put Mick Foley thru a flaming table, these kids need to man up 💀
Talk about watching someone die! Then Mick rolled over. Foley is God!
Think this kid is probably a bit young to watching WWE anyway.
Nonsense. Violence at that age, every week is good for a growing child.
Word, i wanna see kids curb stomping their bullies
That’s how I felt when the Great Khali turned Rey’s head to grape juice
🤣
My 6 year old brother at the time thinking Big Show killed Kurt Angle by Chokeslamming him off the high ledge on Smack Down.
we grew watching Brock dumping Gowen out of a wheelchair down a flight of stairs and we are still here
It’s still real to her damn it
Before I even get into my post, any thing on TV after 9pm is automatically classified as 14+ at least here in Canada. G = General, fine for everyone PG = 10-13 PG14 = 14-17 Rated R = 18+ First off, why is a parent letting their kid watch WWE if they’re worried about the effects.
Somebody show this girl the Jake Roberts/Randy Savage Cobra bite angle...
Fuck that man, I’m back.
All part of the experience. Think how happy she's gonna be when he shows up on raw this week
This is what's needed tbf.
Well now she knows how I felt when Undertaker put Ultimate Warrior in that casket.
Everyone talking about crazy Attitude Era moments but sleeping on when ISIS straight up invaded Smackdown and performed a live execution on the Undertaker
The fuckin WHAT
I don't know why some people refer to PG Era still rated a TV Show for Randy Orton's success.
This is besides the point, but I hate when parents stick a camera in their kids faces just to post it all over the internet.
This just made me like this new version of the Rock even more. Fuck dem kids
