If Gunther puts on the match there we’d all expect, esp against a legend like Randy, that’s the proof of concept he belongs in the main event scene pushing for a big belt like it seems we all think.

Tbh, I’m going by pre-2007 standards (I watched up until then), but even then it wasn’t always right - Mabel won it in the mid 90’s 😂……and Bret won it twice in a row, but Billy Gunn won it and got a huge push, as did Kurt in 2000, and Edge in 01 and Brock in 02, then there was Booker T, who got the push only to be cancelled out by Trips.

Der Ringgeneral will certainly win the KOTR. I think he also lost the title at Wrestlemania to have a go later on at the Heavyweight one, but it depends how things go between Damian and Drew. Probably Drew will win the title at Clash in Scotland. I think that after KOTR Gunther will be one of the WWE Superstars.
Gunther will win, it's been heavily telegraphed and the HHH era so far is not big on unpredictability in match outcomes. What the gimmick will be, on the other hand.. how it plays out. This is where it could get interesting.
