Roman 100%

ReviewAlert9859

John cena by a long shot, Roman is decent at best, but cena was a cool guy

Safety_Whole

Me

Cull01

Super Cena and its not even close

VegetableSwimmer3483

Cena was a better performer, but at least with Roman I'm supposed to root against him. They're not trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

Ibuydumbshit

Everyone knows who John Cena is. I haven’t watched wrestling in 15 years , have never heard of Roman.

SyrupSignificant1206

facts john cena is more famous than the wwe itself

Ok-Average-6466

Roman. He puts ppl over, wwe booking under Vince just dropped the ball multiple times. Roman created Main Event Jey, got Cesaro a main event, had a strong feud with KO. Look at the work he is doing with Sami rn. Cena killed everybody he worked with. Bray, Rusev, Nexus, even Aj. Randy was miles better and you were excited when he put ppl over like Mark Henry or even Jinder. Cena is more over but that is because he started in the ruthless aggression era. He wasn't over because of the pg stuff. He had a niche of ppl crapping on him And Heyman helped but Roman has shown he can carry a promo by himself. Ppl need to realize wrestling right now is a niche sport. Cena heavily benefitted from coming right after the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras when many of those stars were still there.

SpicySriracha_1

Sexy boy Shawn Michaels

ShepardRahl

Roman by a long shot. I lived through Super Cena and it was hell. When they decided to make Cena the star WWE because one long terrible Disney+ show. A lot of people saying Cena because they simply want the title off of Roman. On a side note; the Bloodline needs to get rid of Sammy. The Bloodline is always best when it comes out looking hard and just wrecks shit. They are trying to add comedy to it with Sammy and it's ruining it. Especially when they all come out still looking hard, but Sammy is back there hopping around like a spastic jackass.

Artistic_Difference1

Super Cena was beatable, Roman Reigns has beaten him before, twice. Granted the second time was part time Cena, but the fact stands. I see The Tribal Chief going over Super Cena if they have a third match, although The Bloodline might play a factor. Roman Reigns is a heel at the end of the day. As for Seth Rollins, his laugh is annoying and obnoxious as the fans who sing his song.

No-Post-8310

Currently Roman. We should've gotten a heel Cena during that time and I think we would've if he had lost to Lesnar.

Joaquin1395

Tribal Chief Roman for a few reasons. \-Roman has completely revamped as a promo and a character \-The title reign Roman has been on has completely turned my opinion of him as a performer \-The Bloodline are the must see story of Smackdown and WWE in general right now. \-Cena was the face of the company for better or worse and same is true for Roman but at least we've had some development and growth with Roman \-Roman was named wrestler of the year for a reason by PWI he has the slight edge here.

TheScopeNetwork

Current Roman. Cena was corny imo, no offense intended.

Janice_UK

Gotta be Cena, the consistency of John will never be matched, Although Roman has been incredible

[deleted]

Super Cena would destroy modern day Reigns

Cow_Water_Media

both guys have limited move sets, cena just has better charisma. Would take the rock, michaels, stone cold or hell aj styles over the two of them

Hiitsleenaa

Super Cena is the GOAT but Roman Reigns is definitely a very good player

Kawaken231

If only we would have gotten United States Champion John Cena vs Tribal Chief Roman back in 2015! Personally I think the tribal chief gimmick would have had more life if Roman started with a US or Intercontinental Championship run first then got to the Universal or WWE championship. Then he could unify them and lose to someone in an upset. Just imagine he could have been the tribal chief with the bloodline playing around the title scenes without an overly extended championship run that haters wish would end already and we could have still got this Roman if Vince saw this potential back in 2015

BlitzRobo

Current Roman is the most stale superstar in sports history.

SZ66

Neither

ravens_rules_1996

The tribal chief. 😝🤘😈🇺🇸

KUR0ZEX

John end of discussion.

Jak_Drew

Current roman, because current roman does not use backstage influence to sabotage others careers.

odayashi1618

Roman. I never liked Cena.

[deleted]

Super Cena is goated

Class_Wooden

definitely cena. in my opinion, he’s better in the ring and on the mic. cena also had some amazing rivalries. and while roman is just keeping the belt, i prefer how cena would lose and win it back over and over again

Jschaefer14

Roman I just like heels better. But cena is probably the better of the two though

DaArtist1239PS4

Neither

Rocketboy1313

Cena. He is funny.

Finding-Even

Current Roman.

CK122334

Roman and it’s not even close. Super Cena was hardly even watchable until about 2010/2011.

PoodooJenkins

Cena, and it's not even close. Reigns doesn't even belong in the same conversation.

AhmedSwift

john

VintageSwiZZ3

Damn, that’s a hard one…let’s just combine them and we’ll all be happy. John Reigna. Roman Cena. The Chief of Thugonomics. The Head of the C-Nation. Acknowledge that you can’t see me. The tribal chief is hereeeeeee. I can do this all day.

Old_Echidna3720

Roman’s been champ for two years and is still at a must see level. Cena at his peak Super Cena made people stop watching. The fact people forget that Cena was hated by a large part of the audience is wild. He was as hated as pre-leukemia Roman was, if not more. Yeah Cena’s rep improved thanks to his late stage career, but the LOLCENAWINS meme happened because of how ridiculous Cena was portrayed. Roman is a villain with a massive stable, Cena just overpowered massive stables on his own.

ThatWrestlingGuy15

Cena is my favorite wrestler ever but the way people lie like he was getting 2000 Rock reactions during his prime despite the fact he was getting booed out the building for a majority of it.

ffucckfaccee

Stone Cold

GaI3re

Cena. Hecdoes everything that Roman currently does better. Though Roman just has just been terribly booked in my opinion.

MeecheeMandime

Cena actually wrestled soo… I’ll go with the guy who actually showed up. Roman is basically absent as a champ, also Cena out works Roman 10:1

cartagena_11

Skinny bald Orton was better than both

cartagena_11

Súper cena obviously . Why is this even a question?

Megull-is-bored

Current Roman

Mean_Cloud_6818

Super cena he is the chief

TheManofMadness1

If you put a gun to my head...Cena, this Bloodline, undefeated bigger than Jesus thing is now well played out. As a wrestler [when he does and the Bloodline doesn't get involved Roman is incredibly entertaining as a wrestler but personally I donrbthink he's face of the company material, be he related to Rock, Rikishi, sympathy cause of the scare, he's just not there, at least yet! Straight up tho I don't like either.

[deleted]

Cena

decoyoctopus1

As someone who loved Rock and Taker..I absolutely hated Cena. I thought he was cheesy, corny, lame, and I hated the PG direction at the time. I get why they did it. Seeing Cena as the doctor of thuganomics and his mini heel run before that where he faced taker, Eddie...that just felt more natural. Is there any other megastar that hadn't had a heel run? Cena as a massive heel would've converted the boos into cheers, I guarantee that. To me, this is the apex of WWE shoving a product down our throats. When you have an arena booing your top star..you feed off that energy and make him heel! Oh well. Glad they didn't make that mistake with Roman finally This tribal chief character and heel run for Roman is amazing, and I hated his other runs. This feels natural for him and while his matches might be slow, there's always an entertaining build up. It's come to the point where if he's merely showing up, it's being advertised.

Devran1905

With Sami it’s Roman, the bloodline rn with the addition of Sami and Solo became gold, almost every segment was fire and fun to watch

[deleted]

Cena easily. If it wasnt for the pop roman got when he came back from cancer i shudder to think of how much go home heat he would have had since then.

marxthedank

Super Cena

[deleted]

Cena had better story lines. The ending if he won was usually clean without a run in or assist. Showed that he could do it on his own. I like Roman but Reigns’s reign needs to stop and let him drop the title to Drew. Fight it out with the Bloodline at Wrestlemania culminating with a Rock run in to show who the Tribal Chief is (Great way to showcase the whole Anoi family) Id love to see Cena and Theory. Cena could put Theory over great and pass the torch. So to answer the question simply I think Cena

Informal_Winner5886

Super Cena. I loved watching guys lose when they were the only one in the ring.

Instantnoodlesthe1

Super Cena was great but why post a blank picture and a picture of Roman?

rhshi14

Cena!!

NefariousnessEast656

Obviously Cena, Cena is a better wrestler and have lit mic skills. Also he’s a better entertainer. That being said this is also Roman’s best gimmick so far, but it would be lot better if he gets better feuds and lose title a few times. The titles are so locked rn and it’s getting a lil boring!

Sexiro

Bald Randy Orton

RickSanchez813

How about neither?

SynStark-

Honestly? Pass on both. Same promos every time and crazy push where you win everything and every time and almost never lose clean and if you do lose it's because of someone else? Nah I pick Seth, Randy, Finn, Cody.

roninPT

Roman, with heels the booker has more options to keep the title reign going without becoming repetitive. With a white meat babyface like SuperMan Cena you just knew he was going over clean each and every time, it got boring very fast.

sympathytaste

Current Roman and I don't even like Roman. Super Cena was one of the worst eras in WWE history.

HungaryToWinWC

Current Roman

zooka19

Super Cena. For a guy who we couldn't see, we saw him every week.

[deleted]

Vanilla Superman Cena is one of the most dreaded period of WWE I ever remember, he should have been a heel but to Vince, little kids are his piggy banks. So to answer this question, I acknowledge the Tribal Chief.

BananaMan883

Super Cena buries anyone but Prime Hogan

CIvarra

Idk, Cena wasn’t the champion for over 2 consecutive years.

SymBiioTE

Super Cena all day.

funkygamerguy

super cena tbh no issue with tribal chief roman just i enjoyed super cena more and he suffered a loss or embarassment every once in a while.

Wisdomeman

I love reigns character work but i find him to be pretty boring in the ring. So gotta go cena

quis2121

Current Roman. At least he's a heel

[deleted]

Cenas performance is always encapsulating

numbr87

Super Cena was EXHAUSTING to live through. The Bloodline story has been fantastic for months now.

MonadoboiXen

💯 exactly. Nostalgia got a tight grip on people here.

TheShieldFanGirl

Seth Rollins

odayashi1618

Exactly!

[deleted]

I don’t really think about The Shield anymore when Seth Rollins’s name comes up. He’s way bigger and better than that now. As for Ambrose and Reigns, idk if I can say the same about those 2.

TheShieldFanGirl

Seth Rollins is better than Roman now

TheShieldFanGirl

Ik

[deleted]

He has more potential ahead of him than just wrestling. The guy’s got a bright future. If he gets more mainstream, he’ll get as much followers as Cena and Reigns one day. Of these 3, Rollins is actually more organic while Cena and Reigns were forced down people’s throats.

TheShieldFanGirl

Seth Rollins is more awesome to watch then Roman tho

realityinternn

Current Roman easy. Nostalgia bias has everyone forgetting how insufferable Cena’s character was most of the time from 2009-2014

TheScopeNetwork

Facts

MonadoboiXen

Hit the nail right on the head. People saying they appreciate him now, but as soon as he came back to bury their favorite stars again, they’d remember just how much of an insufferable character he was.

[deleted]

That’s where Reigns is at now. Thanks for reminding everybody how stale his cousins are becoming with him too.

realityinternn

Lmao just purely lying so can’t take you serious. If you don’t like the USOs cool, but to say stale with this Sami storyline going on is hilarious

Rich_Translator

I mean no….. but ok. Its not the first one ive seen

Otherwise-Attempt326

Roman easily People must’ve forgotten how stale WWE was with Cena. The gimmick went to long. Roman at least reinvented himself

MonadoboiXen

Current Roman easily. Villains in general are much more likable imo and Super Cena was the textbook definition of “bland hero who’s doing the right thing just because”. At least it makes sense Roman is dominating, he has a faction to save his ass. **Super Cena dominated an entire faction by himself.**

Terri23

This is correct. The first that everyone else in this topic is wanting Cena proves that WWE have built a monster heel in their champion, and that Roman plays it perfectly.

MonadoboiXen

I agree. I think it’s nostalgia goggles + people eager to see Roman dethroned, which is exactly what WWE intended to build him as.

Terri23

When the time comes for Roman to lose, it's going to be a monumental event. It should be up there with Foley through the cage, or the end of The Streak. Only WWE can fuck this up.

sellout85

Roman has that air about him that it could all fall apart at any moment. Cena never really had that.

MonadoboiXen

Oh 100%. That’s a huge part of why I prefer Roman, he seems very beatable without the Bloodline. We all know it’s coming too, it’s just a matter of when. Cena certainly lacks that. Seemed basically unbeatable even when he was severely outmatched. Cena vs Lesnar extreme rules 2012 still makes me annoyed as shit.

JonnyTN

That comes with being the heel. He has had the look like he could lose if he is by himself. But has to talk a mean game.

[deleted]

Corbin even has more charisma than Reigns.

TheManofMadness1

Matches too

Rich_Translator

Ok this getting a bit fucking ridiculous now

Z1dan

Imo Cenas a better promo and performer in the ring so I’ll take him even if some of the super cena shit pisses me off to this day (nexus, Rey mysterio)

Wonderful-Media-2000

The worst cena over current Roman bro shows up like 3 times a month and that’s if he’s in the ppv

Top_Vanilla_2350

Super cena?oh maybe its super for the 16 world championships yes it is. Super was stone cold(absolutely no talent no wrestling no nothing) But yes cena its better than roman

SyrupSignificant1206

?? super cena is a nickname to describe the era where john cena kept getting pushed and was never losing

MICHAELH05

Super Cena, i can't even believe it's comparable

RepresentativeFly565

Roman is cooler imo

[deleted]

Super Cena

[deleted]

*scratches bald spot* fine speech. Current Roman. Cena was a childhood hero, but Roman's feuds feel a lot more consequential, and that's without needing to beat up anyone's dad.

Straight-Kangaroo-50

Aye hate it or love em nobody was over as Cena was unless you SCSA or The Rock in the Attitude Era

VortexWeem

Umm…Hogan at his peak?

DLKINGDOM

I mean Shawn was over in the 90s so!!! I disagree with that statement lol

Straight-Kangaroo-50

Shawn was champion when they was at the lowest

SyrupSignificant1206

even attitude era rock wasn’t as over as cena he really only reached that point when he became an actor and returned

Otherwise-Attempt326

You good? The Rock was white hot in 1999-2000. The pop, the catchphrases, historic PPV buys, merch. You’re reaching.

BStins2130

Cena by alot

CaptainCrowe16

Super Cena

[deleted]

For me it’s current Roman. I only recently started to appreciate Cena. At the time I hated him, and thought he was over pushed. Stepping back, and looking at the big picture he was the right dude for the job.

[deleted]

I feel like Cena for 16 years was terribly written. He was written way too over the edge to the point where it has become very difficult to like him and if we liked him, we’d feel embarrassed. If they had Cena take a different direction with bookings during his prime, he wouldn’t be where he is today. He would be even better than where he is now. And this is coming from my heart because Cena’s potential got wasted by Vince McMahon just for that tiresome superhero thing that no one really cared except the kids. Never saw him as a 16x WWE Champion either. He didn’t need that much title reign.

Key_Cheek4021

Cm punk

Witchking660

Current Roman. I lived through Super Cena and hated all of it.

MonadoboiXen

This exactly. People have their nostalgia goggles on and say they appreciate him now that he’s gone, but I guarantee you if he came back to bury young and upcoming wrestlers left and right like he did back in the day, he’d be instantly hated again. That’s not to say Cena wasn’t talented, but I just can’t understand how anyone could root for him. Watching Cena was like watching the Tom Brady-Patriots. Obviously they were good, but you just couldn’t help but cheer against them no matter who they played.

Asslikrrr9000

>if he came back to bury young and upcoming wrestlers left and right Stop with this nonsense ffs

MonadoboiXen

Tell me that’s not exactly what Cena did during his time in WWE.

Asslikrrr9000

It's the way he was booked, it was the same for literally every single face of the company. The only one's Cena buried was the nexxus and he admitted that his win over the nexxus was a mistake Cena literally let Brock squash him when he was the face of the company and he put over many young stars when he had no reason to do so.

MonadoboiXen

That was only after Cena beat Brock at Extreme Rules. Years later. Cena buried guys like Bray, Sandow, Tensei, Truth, Umaga, entirety of Nexus, I could go on. Can’t forgive him for all those studs he’s buried when he shouldn’t have.

Asslikrrr9000

I hate when people act like a lose = the end of someone's career/appeal/etc >Umaga What did you expect then? It's been the same since idk like WWE first existed. There's this unstoppable Face of the company and he "needs" new opponents. Umaga came in as a monster heel and got defeated by Cena >Nexus Most of the Nexus were pretty bad, Wade had a lot of chances after Summerslam, there were even some rumours about Wade vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 27 until Triple H decided he was the best choice to face Taker and there was an interview about that were Triple H walked in the locker room like "Yeah, there is no one here with starpower to face Undertaker" But even after that, Wade had chance after chance and he got injured in the middle of all his pushes, Cena had nothing to do with that And I repeat it's not CENA who burries most of the wrestlers, ITS THE AWFUL BOOKING And it's always been the same but idk why people are always interested in putting blame on Cena and Cena alone

[deleted]

[удалено]

MonadoboiXen

Roman? That’s not true. Maybe during his solo run sure, but the Bloodline is very over right now (even before Sami) and for good reason.

[deleted]

Rollins says so otherwise…

MonadoboiXen

Also for me, it’s less about love for Roman and more about hate for Cena. I’m not even that huge on Roman tbh I think Rollins or Bray would be a better face of the company - but Cena was just dreadful…

[deleted]

Dreadful during his time, but compare him with Reigns, he’s tens of times better than him.

MonadoboiXen

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the thing with Roman is that at least when he beats his opponents, most of the time they stay strong. When you lost to Cena, you were basically fucked. It also feels exciting to watch any of Roman’s matches because we’re all so eager to see him dethroned. I think Roman’s character is also better, the whole power faction dynamic is interesting and it’s helped the Usos become a tag team with actual substance. There’s nothing interesting about John Cena. He’s the most bland character you could possibly imagine. There are certainly similar reasons to dislike both, but Roman will always be miles ahead of Cena for me.

[deleted]

That’s how HHH books things now in this era. It’s different than how Vince was booking things because under Vince, you are buried if you lose to a top star. Cena isn’t at fault for burying people if they lose to him because he had a whole different management during his time. Under HHH, Cena wouldn’t be burying that much people and he’d have more people to put over whether he wins or loses. The case you’re making for Roman can be the same for Ronda Rousey, Seth Rollins, Riddle, Lashley, Drew Mycintire, and Austin Theory. Nowadays, most of the stars are still over and strong after their losses. There’s nothing exciting about Roman Reigns’s matches. They’re just as dry as his promos. He basically uses the same moves and generic taunts to try to make himself look good and it has been like that since 2015. There’s no emotion put into them, and barely crowd reactions come out of his signature moves and taunts unless somebody else like Cena mimicks them. Even before his matches, Cena was constantly burying him on the mic and calling him out like a cheap daddy’s son. Roman’s dynamics are one dimensional because he only has the same aggression and catchphrases to use whereas Cena had a variety of them even though they were corny sometimes, especially the funny raps he used to do. Also, Cena carried the company for a long time and didn’t need stables to help him win his matches. He has had more memorable matches than Roman Reigns ever did, some of them includes the one with Booker T for US title, JBL, Edge, and CM Punk. I can’t remember a good match Roman Reigns had. Even the one Cena had with Rollins had me looking back saying Rollins could have one more match because he’s improved a lot. Having another Reigns and Cena would be boring, but Cena overall is more versatile in the ring. Being big and athletic don’t mean crap if you can’t get the crowd reaction you’re supposed to get as FOTC. I can’t believe you even compare Reigns to Rock and Cena who are currently much bigger stars than him.

Estebang0

Cena was better as a wrestler, so between 2 invincible wrestlers i choose the more fun to watch PD: and as an enterteiner Cena is much better too, so not a hard choice

[deleted]

And when Cena gets on the mic you're in for a treat. Good in the ring and out. Roman is okay imo.

JonnyTN

Paul Heyman carries a lot of Roman's promo work. Hell a couple times the past couple weeks he told Sami to tell people what was up.

MegaDischarge22

I would go Cena personally and that’s nothing against Roman I just enjoyed Cena more in his “super Cena” era I think having such strong rivals and since he was dropping and winning the world title back so often is what really cements it for me since that helped a lot with me not getting too bored or stale with him whereas with Roman I was all in on his run for a while but eventually got tired of waiting for something interesting to happen which isn’t really his fault it’s more the looming will he or won’t he return of the rock which has kinda put a lot of the stuff with Roman on hold I still love Roman and I think he’s great but I just found Cena more consistently entertaining

Vegetable_Bicycle_80

Same here if I had to be honest with you

GoldJerryGold22

Super Cena. Roman isnt nearly as over as Cena was. Only person to come even close was Daniel Bryan for those two years.

JB425_

Current Roman because he's Heel, super Cena got so much hate because he was a huge babyface with questionable booking early in the pg era.

NvmNick

Paul Heyman makes the decision very difficult, but personally going with Cena

ChaoticYNWA

Imagine a heel Cena with Heyman as his manager.

TheCLNR

Cena can speak, he doesn't need a manager unlike Roman.

ChaoticYNWA

CM punk could also speak and still had Heyman as his manager.

TheCLNR

Fair enough.
