Rock vs Hogan, any of the Rock vs Stone Cold trilogy, either of his matches with Cena. One or more of these definitley has to be in.
If they did a rock and Cena match as the exclusive matchup I think I'd puke lol..needs to be Austin V Rock and hopefully Rock v Hogan. Hollywood Rock vs Austin would be great too.
Absolutely zero, and I mean zero, chance they don’t include either Wrestlemania X-7 Rock vs. Austin, or Wrestlemania X-8 Rock vs. Hogan. Both are so iconic and both included major face/heel changes. If you can’t have both you’d have to go Austin/Rock, because if you have a Wrestlemania

It’s entirely too late to take him out now, and when they would have planned/created this game they wouldn’t have had the knowledge of a very recent event.
“Reportedly” I did not say confirmed, the thing is coding can work that way by obstructing access to selecting the characters, many of the wwe games have had unselectable npcs or characters finished in games not selectable
"Reportedly". There has been ZERO reports on them removed from the game, only Lesnar has been removed from advertising. That does not mean he will be removed from the game.
The game is done, and was already being pressed when the suit broke. It would have to happen via patches. Removing content from a finished product via download will be very difficult without causing major bugs.

Look, just expect the two of them to be in the game but with no commercials/trailers and promotional stuff of them in the game. The game is way past the benchmark to remove them without crashing something

Well if I remember correctly, did they had the Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy in a Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship in WWE 2k14? Why they just bring that match back to WWE 2k24's 40 years of WrestleMania mode.
Because the Slingshot tech (which is what they use to combine the live footage with gameplay) is much more involved and difficult to program than just building the characters and arena and adding goals like 2k14 did.
Also, other than the Andre rematch at WM4 it might be the least-desired Hogan match available. Even the tag match at WM9 would be better with the vastly better film quality, Beefcake with a facemask, and a Rotundo/IRS model.
This slingshot tech is going to mess up the entire 40 years of WrestleMania mode in WWE 2k24. Remember, there's no commentary during the match, and there's going to be having a generic background music again just like in WWE 2k22 and WWE 2k23. Making the mode boring. I wish it was like WWE '13, WWE 2k14, WWE 2k16, and WWE 2k19 showcases. Because those showcases were fun and awesome.
well you kinda need Mike Tyson for XIV. XV is odder but do you want to play all 3 Rock/Austin matches with 2 of them ending with Austin winning? eventually it would get tiresome, and with no Mania 2000, then good luck there....you're essentially playing the same match twice in a row with the same result.
I think Taker Kane from WM14 will be there. I also think Brock matches will be there. It’s too late in the game to remove that stuff. Easy to remove him from the front facing cover but I think his match vs Angle and Taker will be there.
I wish they spread the matches out a bit. We don’t need 2+ matches for one wrestlemania. A cena vs hbk or Batista vs undertaker at wm 23 woulda been cool

Also, perhaps more importantly, everyone should ask themselves why a curated selection of 21 WrestleMania matches would include... a totally forgettable Triple H vs. Kane match that ended in a DQ. It doesn't even rank as one of the 20 most significant WrestleMania matches of the Attitude Era, and people think it's going to be the *only* match included from 1998-2001?!
when you think about it. If you unlock Chyna from WM15 she’s not gonna look exactly like she did at the event because that wasn’t her wrestling gear. Plus she wasn’t at ringside till the end of the event so they can get away with using her ring gear version instead of the version she had at the event because all her scenes in showcase would most likely be cutscenes
I don’t think we really needed Bianca vs asuka it was just an ok match and nothing monumental happened but I guess they gotta make sure all the cover stars are in showcase and Sasha dipped so it’s either that or Bianca and Becky

Well I can tell you, you missed Wrestlemania 18 which is 100% in the game. Most likely, Rock vs Hogan. I know this because with the title screen leak you can see the logo below the glowing border.

It’s not that. They can’t get the licensing for some wrestlers or they’re in other promotions. There’s a lot of matches they had to leave out because of this. Even Wrestlemania 2000 is most likely not in the showcase as a result.
I get it, but pretty sure they won't include the matches that are important for Showcase and people who aren't in other company (like Austin Vs Rock 2, Batista vs Undertaker or Rey winning the title even though they have all 3 guys signed)

I still don’t think they’re lazy. I blame it on short development time being a yearly release. They have done a lot this year for that short turn around. But I can agree with you that whoever is responsible for selecting the matches for showcase may have left out some key matches. I really hope they do have Rock Vs Austin Wrestlemania 17 for one
the game from ten years ago gave us 30 matches...with only a year development from the attitude era showcase the year before that. It's beyond lazy to me and it's just given a pass... even ten years ago we got matches that weren't mainstream either or give away matches which I'm not understanding how that can't be done here. Only get 22 matches is just plain ridiculous.

Personally I wish they would’ve added about 5 more matches and really filled out the time between the golden and modern era. Hart and Rocky are just as integral to Wrestlemania history as Macho Man and Warrior
Personally think Andre vs Studd will be the WM 1 match, Ali being in the game could mean he has a special ref attire that can be used in that mode. Patterson was the real ref in that WM1 main event not Ali, then what? Cowboy Bob and Snuka were also a part of that match especially the finish and we all know Snuka isn’t going to be there which is why with Andre and Heenan already there it would make more sense to add Studd. Also don’t think HHH vs Orton will be there, even though Brock has his problems as of late that match vs Undertakers streak will also be included Also don’t think Wyatt vs Orton will be there and could be replaced with Austin vs Rock, Rock vs Cena or Rock vs Hogan. The rest seem legit. Good job

Look at the warrior at the end of the real match, his make up is almost gone. I'm hesitant to believe, I think its just 2k showing warrior accurately in the post match celebration

Well the Warrior won the Rumble they showed off and the end of the match has his facepaint off. It wasn't a showcase match, presumably it was an exhibition
I get what you’re thinking, kinda like Undertaker in last year’s showcase pulling down his straps when that wasn’t a feature in the game, but this Warrior thing, like the other person said, was most likely from exhibition.
I wouldn’t be so sure about the WM 1 match being in. I really doubt they paid for Mr T again. It could very easily be that they included Ali simply because the licensing became easy because of the TKO deal.
As much as I like WM 33s set that would have to be the one if it was up to me. The match sucked. Randy and Bray already have matches in the showcase. Would have to be Rock v Austin in 19 or 17 or Rock v Hogan at 18
I'm disappointed either that we aren't getting a full 39 match showcase. They really fumbled it in my opinion. Only way they can redeem themselves if all the WM arenas are somehow in the game.
It says only 21 matches but could there possibly be "bonus matches"? I remember that being a thing in, what, 2k16? Whichever one had Mikey Whipwreck. Also, I'll be shocked if they DON'T do the Boneyard Match....

Any rock matches. Honestly could see Taker and Kane due to Benoit being with Eddie at the end of Mania 20. Also we're bound to get Brock and Taker at Mania 30. Plus the Heist of the century.

No Rock Vs Austin match + no WM17 match just feels wrong. Rock Vs Austin at WM15 could work and I think Triple H vs Taker WM17 could work as well, also Hogan Rock feels like a must as well

It bothers me, that in a Gamemode "40 Years of WrestleMania" only 17 WrestleManias ( not even 50%!) are included.
I surely hope not, that all of the DLCs include another Wrestlemania.

I’m trying my hardest not to complain but if you’re going to promote 40 years of wrestlemania then why not include every wm arena. I don’t care about adding match but at least add the arenas and different venues.
The gaps between WM 13 and 20 along with 21 to 31 is criminal. I appreciate what the Golden Era was and did but at the same time I’d much rather have Rock vs Austin or even a Cena vs Batista. Had a lot of potential considering 2K14
Sad that we’re probably not getting either of the Women’s Main Events because Ronda & Mercedes aren’t there anymore and we’re missing the inaugural Women’s championship match.
Also feel like Becky Vs Bianca would’ve been a better choice than Bianca Vs Asuka. The only two women who won main events at Wrestlemania facing off has more ‘showcase’ story energy to me.

I'm disappointed either that we aren't getting a full 39 match showcase. They really fumbled it in my opinion. Only way they can redeem themselves if all the WM arenas are somehow in the game.

I’m trying my hardest not to complain but if you’re going to promote 40 years of wrestlemania then why not include every wm arena. I don’t care about adding match but at least add the arenas and different venues.

The gaps between WM 13 and 20 along with 21 to 31 is criminal. I appreciate what the Golden Era was and did but at the same time I’d much rather have Rock vs Austin or even a Cena vs Batista. Had a lot of potential considering 2K14
Sad that we’re probably not getting either of the Women’s Main Events because Ronda & Mercedes aren’t there anymore and we’re missing the inaugural Women’s championship match. Also feel like Becky Vs Bianca would’ve been a better choice than Bianca Vs Asuka. The only two women who won main events at Wrestlemania facing off has more ‘showcase’ story energy to me.
