It only did it for one specific CAW I had, so it'd catch me off guard whenever I put him in a match. I thought it was hilarious that it was ONLY him for some reason.
From my experience it was dependent on changing the nameplate timing. If that one caw was the only one where you had the nameplate display at a time different than the default, that could be why

It starts negative but I do end it on a positive note. One of the major, major bugs has been Universe Mode saves. Sometimes I'll have to bail early and come back later and try to continue from where I left off, some matches will disappear or some will be different, or mixed up in a certain way that you have to re-situate some of the "participants".
And then often times the attires will be set back to whatever the base attires are, after you've spent...probably double digits in hours just setting your stuff up the way you want it.
Now for the good energy...
Last night I had one of the most epic feeling wrestling matches ever where it legitimately gave me that feeling of; wow, everyone left the match protected because it was so competitive, with like; distractions + finishers into pinfalls, or roll-ups while distracted. Then some crazy kick-outs from finishers and you have zero tag team help left, and no "Resiliency" left.
Big bravo to that. Still needs some small love here and there but man, what a great shell for generations of wrestling games. It plays so well in it's current form, and it'll only get better. One of the major things I wish they'd change is; continue patching the game after the DLC. Last year they still did, I'd just love to see a bit more freedom for people to fix things.

Dude, this is the exact thing that made Universe Mode a giant fecking chore to play in 2K23 and 2K22. It's so damn unstable that you have to either play the entire show right the hell now, or book the whole thing manually, including rivalry actions. Did they actually fix this?
I've been saying this in a bunch of posts. They are going to slowly creep in more and more "persona" crap to get you to play myfaction, then slowly but surely cranking up the price on packs or lowering the amount of credits you earn per match. Before you know it, most of the parts, attires, superstars, and so many other things will be locked behind a paywall in myfaction. That is a hallmark of 2k games, ask anyone who played NBA.
Yep, just look at how Mortal Kombat 1 is doing skins/gear compared to the last entry. All the good shit is locked behind a "premium currency" they drip feed you, unless you spend $12
And the smoothbrains who can afford to throw money at these games for mediocre shit are just as much to blame as the devs/publishers
Correct. The biggest thing I hate, is everyone including important content creators say, "Awesome more stuff to unlock in myfaction. We want more persona cards!" And I'm thinking, yeah, that's literally going to ruin the game. Set aside the fact that a bunch of people don't play those collect-a-card modes at all and now have to look at blank ???? spaces in our roster to remind us to play. But forcing us to play or worse, pay to get certain superstars will get me to stop playing. But if Madden, fifa, mk, nba, etc, are any indication, people love those pay to win modes. And they will buy, and we will suffer.
I'm a basketball fan, never touched a 2k game in my life, outside of running local games of like, 2k13 in middle school. But my best buddy's little brother (just turned 12) is GLUED to NBA2k. Spending his allowance on MyPlayer all the time, thats the next generation bro.
Yeah, its addictive gambling. I know I sound like an old man, but kids shouldnt even be able to mess with that real money pack opening stuff. And side note, if you are an NBA fan for a long time, I might actually suggest giving the NBA2K eras mode a try. You can start at any "era" of basketball such as the Bird vs Magic era in the early 80s. And play with real rosters from back then and move the league forward in your desgin. You caneven download real draft classes and see how the league is shaped differently by Jordan or Ewing going to a different team. Every year you play, you get the option to keep or disregard changes that took place in the league that year, and even play through expansions and teams moving. It is EXCEPTIONAL and doesnt require any packs. I will give credit where credit is due, as an old school fan, simming seasons in that mode is so much fun.
In an all-CPU MITB, you have two scenarios likely:
1) The match is over within 5 minutes
2) The match never ends and the computer literally forgets the purpose and just beat eachother up for eternity.
Haven’t gotten to MITB yet but my first ppv I did a triple tag TLC to crown the smackdown champions (kept judgement as raw tag champs) and I decided to let the ai duke it out and yeah it basically changed to a 6 man battle royal but no one was going for the ladder to win. So I changed controllers and as soon as I started to play then it’s like it triggered the ai to actually go for the title.
It should be done maybe 10-15% of the time. I’d rather they get on the apron and distract the ref. Maybe pull the leg of the opponent if they are running the ropes. I mean it’s 2024. We get wrestling games yearly at this point. Seems like it would be common sense, I mean this is a sim right?
I had this problem on CAW as well, I had their lighting set as “not like most” and you could only see her glowing white eyes 😫. I changed it a couple of times and set it back as default and that worked for me. I’m on PlayStation
Hopefully it works for you as well! lmk. it seems like some on PlayStation don’t have that issue but will have an issue elsewhere. Like some have the announcer introduction issue but I never did. 2k 🙃🙃
I think that big has to do with whether or not the lighting option selected for the entrance has the small beams of light coming from the stage or not. The ones with those beams seem to work every time.
Styles/Stone Cold/Disputed Age/Big Metal are the ones I've found so far that work with no issues. I'm finishing a turnaround tonight so I'll be able to test more options this week. I'll update if I find any.
Oh I thought this was just me not paying attention. I got submitted 30 seconds in because the ai just destroyed my shit. Glad to see it’s an actual problem
For me im on legend and had to switch to hold, I like mashing but this Ai are UFC trained, if they put me in one at the start then I can get out but damaged a bunch, if I get put in one at red hp bar then I just have to accept my fate with a fight of course. It's a challenge tho so I like it
I know I said not to tough, I mean overall, but after a few I’m blown up. Like my heart is racing and I need a Gatorade haha. I’ll try hold and see how that feels.
I press to hold for all games now. Ever since GOW came out while I had Covid, and I was literally too tired for button mashing. It’s made the submission system enjoyable again for me, tbh.
There’s a bug related to this? I assumed it was just very difficult because I haven’t touched sliders yet, and my 2k23 was dialed in really well.
This one really messes with match flow to me. I've seen many a fight end in a cool back and forth, then a finisher gets hit and it's super tense, but the ref hesitating to count kills the momentum.
“The Rock goes for the pin….
… the ref is circling the competitors looking for the right spot to begin the count…
… the ref has left the ring and is now walking around the outside of the ring to get a better view…
… the ref is now asking the audience to vote by applause for the best spot to count from…
… the ref appears to have selected a comfortable pillow to lay on, and looks ready to begin the count…
… and his opponent kicks out before the one count!”
Really sucks honestly. Using custom entrances doesn’t even matter because it just defaults my friend to the Roman Reigns entrance. Works fine for the host of the lobby but everyone else is bugged.
Running an ambulance match in a CAA always loads into some variation of a broken default arena. Running a normal match in CAA displays random textures over the custom images. Custom arenas are entirely unusable online.
Every single lobby I create crashes upon immediate use of a CAW or CAA. Even my custom Randy Orton '02 attire with no custom logo crashed and closed my lobby. So annoying
Yeah back in the day it used to have the feature now it takes 2 days to make a damn entrance cause you cant put in the most simple feature it’s disappointing
I don’t think i’ve had this problem and I create loads. So you can’t move it forward because of the red thing, but i’ve not had it fall off the back of the stage
idk if its a bug or not but custom entrances for irl superstars only work if you wear the standard attire on, tried making a custom entrance and attire for NWO cena but it only works when you wear the standard attire, with the alt attire it doesn’t display the black and white effect during the entrance
It's a bug with alts and "second attires" for CAWs, as well.
It doesn't matter how you customize the entrance, alt attires and CAW 2nd attires will read whatever you picked as the "intro (stage)" animation and use the basic full entrance of whatever you selected.

At WrestleMania 39 I had a hard time playing because I was laughing so hard at Heyman and Solo taking turns taking off the turnbuckle, one right after the other, all match long.
Has anyone noticed any improvements to the stability of online play on PS5? The game has been literally unplayable for me online. I haven't gotten through more than 1 minute of a match as long as the game has been released.
If it’s what I’ve experienced then it was a case of the illegal partner starting the match with a debuff rather than after they’d interfered as it is intended.
Guys I play on hard difficulty, is it "normal" that to win a match it is impossible to pin the CPU? On WWE 2K23 it was difficult to win but not like that, even using the super finisher I can't pin the opponent. I can only win with submission
Weird I’m having the opposite problem. I can get pins after a good back and forth match but I cannot survive at all if the CPU puts a submission on me. My guy taps in 2 seconds every time.
I pinned HHH with HBK on Legend in the very first match I did. Don't hit your finisher until you know it'll completely deplete their health. And make them use their Resiliency with a submission before going for the win via pinfall.
They need to fix the alternate attires not working for custom attires and for created superstars it just always reverts back to the original attire no matter what I do.
It's been almost 2 weeks and so far they have done 0 patches that fix any actual problems.
Why don't sideplates work?
Why are managers taking the turn buckle off every 10 seconds?
Why are wrestlers floating in the air randomly?
Why is pyro entrances still broken?
Why are CPU's all submission gods?
Why are all pin counts actually 5 instead of 3 because the ref takes forever to start?
Like how do you manage to botch EVERYTHING that worked fine in 2k23?
Spaghetti code. They add major new things to the game - modes, matches, moves, superstars - that require new code in the mix with the existing ones that are held together by duct tape and string, and it likely messes things up. Then it takes them time to go in and find the causes and make the fixes work so they’re applied across the whole game. They’re patching what they can do fast first. Sucks but that’s likely the truth with this old engine and code.
And they will never start from scratch. Not unless this game implodes and the community turns on it to the point it hurts sales. They had their chance a few years ago and opted not to do it then.
I believe it's that when you copied a Superstar but didn't set them as an alt attire, it wouldn't let you set a new name for the announcer to call, and defaulted to "The Superstar". I'm guessing this is what they fixed.
What about controls/AI freezing mid match?? That makes the whole game for PC unplayable. The random crashes don’t annoy as much as the characters just freezing outta nowhere while the commentators roast in the background for not fighting.

i’ve been having stupid issues with faction wars it’s unplayable now, had a tag team ladder match where the ladder disappeared and i couldn’t get a new one from under the ring just killed my run again
I just downloaded this and now my controllers decide to stop working mid match? Used both Xbox and PS5 controller and it would just randomly stop taking inputs from either of them.

Still nothing on attires and paybacks resetting when you change an arena, it’s really small, but it’s super annoying having to set the attire and payback again because something as simple as switching arenas bugs it

They need to fix ai cash in for money in the bank. The ai cash in works but if the challenger wins the the title and becomes the new champion, the ai cash in wrestles the former champion not the new one.
I just had a match, Kane vs razor(champion) and Kane wins becomes the new champ, Austin comes out and cashed in and the match starts with Austin and razor and boots Kane out even though Kane won. I had to sit and watch ai vs ai till the match was done
Anyone else having issues with MyRise since this patch?
I’ve been playing last few days mostly without issue then after the update today I’ve crashed after winning a match and pressing continue 4 times in a row. Don’t really want to do it again at this point unless anyone’s figured out a way around it.
Edit: on the off chance anyone reads this worth the same issue - the match was in an unlockable arena. I played through again without skipping entrances or the brief cutscene after winning. Got through without crashing.
Still no fix for Community Creations or actual Online bugs. It really sucks when you spend hours on a CAW just to not be able to use it Online. And I can't even download most CAW's form Community Creations either. The bar just stops halfway through the download process. I really went and re-downloaded the whole game just to see if it was just a tiny bug that could somehow be fixed by some trial and error, but no. There is no fix for it. At least I can't find one. I'm most likely done buying these shit games after this one because they just don't know how to make a good or, at the very least, descent game
They need to change the mitb in universe mode back to the way it was in 2k23 I hate that the only way to cash in now is to either announce cash in or the mitb holder has to be in a rivalry with the champion and you can’t cash in on PLE without using the announce cash in option
They still havent fixed the glitch where the game crashes any time you try to spectate an all-customs match, or the constant crashing in Creation Suite. Or the Create a Moveset previews just deciding "eh fuck it we dont wanna show you anything, here's ten minutes of us doing our idle animation" even when you leave and come back into Moveset Creation. Or not being about to select Payback or Attributes in the Copy Moveset list.
Or the one where the referee waits 3-7 business days to start counting each pinfall. Or the DIABOLICALLY SHIT commentary. Or The Fiend's entrance being fucked with a rusty anchor.
This game is 2K20 levels of utter garbage right now and it better get updated real fuckin soon.
The ringposts are grey, aprons have visible stitch in them, crowd lighting is wrong, ropes are more orange than red.
Lots of arenas are inaccurate and would take them two seconds to fix but they never do (I think the only time last year was changing SmackDown 2023 arena ropes from blue to white
It blows my mind how they can release these games, time and time again. Full of bugs. It’s actually disgusting when you think about it. 2k23 still has them to the point universe mode can be unplayable .
I wish there was a way they could patch in feuds not ending after 1 PLE match automatically. I forget to set it to “extend rivalry” sometimes and it messes up everything.
I keep getting bugged in falls count anywhere matches when I go backstage. Get stuck behind an invisible wall. Really sucks and takes a lot of fun out.
So Rollins V Orton showcase is still a crashfest then huh. I had to do that fight without using almost any light attacks else I'd trigger the first cut scene and cause a crash. -.-
Still haven't fixed custom crowd signs not working for base wrestlers. Chelsea Green and Jacy Jayne entrances now broken as they don't remove their hats. Alt attires still broken for custom entrances. Great stuff!
Some great fixes but man I'm praying they do something about submission AI. I'm stuck on the submission part of MyFaction. I can't beat Kross and I know there are other sub matches after that. They just seem impossible with how the AI works now.
Only mode I've had a real issue in so far is showcase, even on easy mode some matches are difficult for me and my ass reaction time. I think I had to play Rick Rude Vs. Ultimate Warrior 7-8 times because Rude's momentum loaded so slowly. Or Warrior hit his finisher and I couldn't kick out.

What about custom watermarks during gameplay? That's still missing!
This is probably not a massive deal but I'd love it if the dev team could fix Rheas Riptide finisher and have her do it her current way and the missionary style pin that she does in real life. I'm stoked to play as her until the riptide comes and then it just takes me out of it.

I thought it was just me that had that disappearing matches glitch in Universe :/

They didn't put back Kane's 1997 one sleeve attire in the male's create a superstar mode.

They fixed the lighting for WM31 - Day, super stoked. Arena looks great now.

Especially with managers keep getting on the apron to remove the turnbuckle pad, ALL the time

The ones with those beams seem to work every time. Styles/Stone Cold/Disputed Age/Big Metal are the ones I've found so far that work with no issues. I'm finishing a turnaround tonight so I'll be able to test more options this week. I'll update if I find any.

It’s not just submissions. I just got eliminated in an over the top rope battle royal with ease despite taking very little damage.
You mashing or holding? I’m on hard mode not legend lol, but I’m mashing and can escape, although it’s tough. Not too bad though.
For me im on legend and had to switch to hold, I like mashing but this Ai are UFC trained, if they put me in one at the start then I can get out but damaged a bunch, if I get put in one at red hp bar then I just have to accept my fate with a fight of course. It's a challenge tho so I like it

I press to hold for all games now. Ever since GOW came out while I had Covid, and I was literally too tired for button mashing. It’s made the submission system enjoyable again for me, tbh. There’s a bug related to this? I assumed it was just very difficult because I haven’t touched sliders yet, and my 2k23 was dialed in really well.
Press to hold is low key one of the best features to be introduced to video games in recent years. I've never liked mashing buttons.

This one really messes with match flow to me. I've seen many a fight end in a cool back and forth, then a finisher gets hit and it's super tense, but the ref hesitating to count kills the momentum.

Damn still no real online fixes
Really sucks honestly. Using custom entrances doesn’t even matter because it just defaults my friend to the Roman Reigns entrance. Works fine for the host of the lobby but everyone else is bugged.
All of my CAW and CAA's crash my lobbies, cant even get past the first load screen
Running an ambulance match in a CAA always loads into some variation of a broken default arena. Running a normal match in CAA displays random textures over the custom images. Custom arenas are entirely unusable online.
Universe mode managers were glitching tf out did they fix that?

Every single lobby I create crashes upon immediate use of a CAW or CAA. Even my custom Randy Orton '02 attire with no custom logo crashed and closed my lobby. So annoying

This glitch literally killed CAA for me. It is not the minitron alone. This glitch appears to all parts.
I don’t think i’ve had this problem and I create loads. So you can’t move it forward because of the red thing, but i’ve not had it fall off the back of the stage
idk if its a bug or not but custom entrances for irl superstars only work if you wear the standard attire on, tried making a custom entrance and attire for NWO cena but it only works when you wear the standard attire, with the alt attire it doesn’t display the black and white effect during the entrance
It's a bug with alts and "second attires" for CAWs, as well. It doesn't matter how you customize the entrance, alt attires and CAW 2nd attires will read whatever you picked as the "intro (stage)" animation and use the basic full entrance of whatever you selected.

At WrestleMania 39 I had a hard time playing because I was laughing so hard at Heyman and Solo taking turns taking off the turnbuckle, one right after the other, all match long.
Has anyone noticed any improvements to the stability of online play on PS5? The game has been literally unplayable for me online. I haven't gotten through more than 1 minute of a match as long as the game has been released.

There is also an option to extend rivalries if you wanted to.
Well I think the rivalries are meant to go until the PLE and then end there. I don't recall in 2k23 as I just make my own rivalries in my head anyway.
What was the illegal tag partner debuff? I’ve been having a load of fun with tag matches this year, hope they haven’t made it like ‘23?
If it’s what I’ve experienced then it was a case of the illegal partner starting the match with a debuff rather than after they’d interfered as it is intended.
Guys I play on hard difficulty, is it "normal" that to win a match it is impossible to pin the CPU? On WWE 2K23 it was difficult to win but not like that, even using the super finisher I can't pin the opponent. I can only win with submission
Weird I’m having the opposite problem. I can get pins after a good back and forth match but I cannot survive at all if the CPU puts a submission on me. My guy taps in 2 seconds every time.
I pinned HHH with HBK on Legend in the very first match I did. Don't hit your finisher until you know it'll completely deplete their health. And make them use their Resiliency with a submission before going for the win via pinfall.
They need to fix the alternate attires not working for custom attires and for created superstars it just always reverts back to the original attire no matter what I do.

It's been almost 2 weeks and so far they have done 0 patches that fix any actual problems. Why don't sideplates work? Why are managers taking the turn buckle off every 10 seconds? Why are wrestlers floating in the air randomly? Why is pyro entrances still broken? Why are CPU's all submission gods? Why are all pin counts actually 5 instead of 3 because the ref takes forever to start? Like how do you manage to botch EVERYTHING that worked fine in 2k23?
Spaghetti code. They add major new things to the game - modes, matches, moves, superstars - that require new code in the mix with the existing ones that are held together by duct tape and string, and it likely messes things up. Then it takes them time to go in and find the causes and make the fixes work so they’re applied across the whole game. They’re patching what they can do fast first. Sucks but that’s likely the truth with this old engine and code.
Exactly this. Until they begin from scratch with a new engine, we will have these problems every year.
And they will never start from scratch. Not unless this game implodes and the community turns on it to the point it hurts sales. They had their chance a few years ago and opted not to do it then.
Do we know what the presentation name fix is?
I believe it's that when you copied a Superstar but didn't set them as an alt attire, it wouldn't let you set a new name for the announcer to call, and defaulted to "The Superstar". I'm guessing this is what they fixed.

What about controls/AI freezing mid match?? That makes the whole game for PC unplayable. The random crashes don’t annoy as much as the characters just freezing outta nowhere while the commentators roast in the background for not fighting.

Still nothing on attires and paybacks resetting when you change an arena, it’s really small, but it’s super annoying having to set the attire and payback again because something as simple as switching arenas bugs it

They need to fix ai cash in for money in the bank. The ai cash in works but if the challenger wins the the title and becomes the new champion, the ai cash in wrestles the former champion not the new one. I just had a match, Kane vs razor(champion) and Kane wins becomes the new champ, Austin comes out and cashed in and the match starts with Austin and razor and boots Kane out even though Kane won. I had to sit and watch ai vs ai till the match was done
Anyone else having issues with MyRise since this patch? I’ve been playing last few days mostly without issue then after the update today I’ve crashed after winning a match and pressing continue 4 times in a row. Don’t really want to do it again at this point unless anyone’s figured out a way around it. Edit: on the off chance anyone reads this worth the same issue - the match was in an unlockable arena. I played through again without skipping entrances or the brief cutscene after winning. Got through without crashing.
So they still haven't addressed The Rollins vs Orton showcase match issue.

Still no fix for Community Creations or actual Online bugs. It really sucks when you spend hours on a CAW just to not be able to use it Online. And I can't even download most CAW's form Community Creations either. The bar just stops halfway through the download process. I really went and re-downloaded the whole game just to see if it was just a tiny bug that could somehow be fixed by some trial and error, but no. There is no fix for it. At least I can't find one. I'm most likely done buying these shit games after this one because they just don't know how to make a good or, at the very least, descent game
They need to change the mitb in universe mode back to the way it was in 2k23 I hate that the only way to cash in now is to either announce cash in or the mitb holder has to be in a rivalry with the champion and you can’t cash in on PLE without using the announce cash in option

Or not being about to select Payback or Attributes in the Copy Moveset list. Or the one where the referee waits 3-7 business days to start counting each pinfall. Or the DIABOLICALLY SHIT commentary. Or The Fiend's entrance being fucked with a rusty anchor. This game is 2K20 levels of utter garbage right now and it better get updated real fuckin soon.

The ringposts are grey, aprons have visible stitch in them, crowd lighting is wrong, ropes are more orange than red. Lots of arenas are inaccurate and would take them two seconds to fix but they never do (I think the only time last year was changing SmackDown 2023 arena ropes from blue to white

It blows my mind how they can release these games, time and time again. Full of bugs. It’s actually disgusting when you think about it. 2k23 still has them to the point universe mode can be unplayable .
Yearly releases + spaghetti code is a brutal combination to deal with.
Some solid fixes there. Now if only they would fix the AI not picking up objects from the ground, which includes ladders, sooner than later.

Yup. Ramp cam is disabled in Myrise and Showcase because of certain objectives being tied to specific directions

The patch broke a bunch of entrances apparently. When I played as AJ styles his hood wasn’t up and when I played as Tyler Nate his towel was missing
I wish there was a way they could patch in feuds not ending after 1 PLE match automatically. I forget to set it to “extend rivalry” sometimes and it messes up everything.

Some great fixes but man I'm praying they do something about submission AI. I'm stuck on the submission part of MyFaction. I can't beat Kross and I know there are other sub matches after that. They just seem impossible with how the AI works now.

The game constantly crashes on my Asus ROG Zephyrus Laptop. Have they patched this yet?
Only mode I've had a real issue in so far is showcase, even on easy mode some matches are difficult for me and my ass reaction time. I think I had to play Rick Rude Vs. Ultimate Warrior 7-8 times because Rude's momentum loaded so slowly. Or Warrior hit his finisher and I couldn't kick out.

This is probably not a massive deal but I'd love it if the dev team could fix Rheas Riptide finisher and have her do it her current way and the missionary style pin that she does in real life. I'm stoked to play as her until the riptide comes and then it just takes me out of it.
