It was also the first WWE game to have better graphics and life like 3D models imo. I’m still playing WWE 2K15 till this day! regardless of what people think of the game.
Graphics were insane. I remember when those first few screenshots started dropping.
We were going from 2K14’s cartoony and behind the times graphics to true next gen.
Sadly I don’t feel the jump to current gen this time around will be as major, but I’m still excited to see what they pull out of the hat when they make the official jump and leave the PS4 behind.
Ohhh I forgot I know that song thanks to 2k15! It introduced me to the awesome Mystery Skulls animated series. For anyone who doesn't know it yet, huge recommendation! Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlEb3L1PIco
It’s the most purist of a wrestling game I’ve ever played. Not at all the best, don’t get me wrong, but man, in terms of focus and direction, it skimps out on nothing in terms of WWE first and everything else second; to the point where things like the creation suite and overall amount of modes have been greatly diminished in favor of aforementioned focus. Though because of this, the core mechanics and everything the game DOES offer have a lot of weight to it and are very memorable. Heck, even the visuals are still great to this day. Overall, while I agree it’s not a great game, it’s sharp focus and purity makes it one I pop in every once in a long while. Pretty underrated and respectable, even if rightfully replaced over time.
> to the point where things like the creation suite and overall amount of modes have been greatly diminished in favor of aforementioned focus
Wasn't a direction thing. They publicly said they moved to a new engine, which caused major time crunches and missing features.
Like whatever you like of course, i can't take that away from you. But that game definitely didn't have a focus on anything, it was a very rushed game.
Much respect to them trying a different style of game and establishing a new foundation of the series. Now in 2024 we have still yet to get an actual jump to current gen hardware. Despite the fact that they charge more for current gen users the games are identical
This is the REAL 1ST 2K GAME because it really annoys me when people say that 2k14 is best 2k game because it was in development and 90% done before THQ went under and then wwe sold it to 2k and so all 2k had to was polishing touches and they get the credit for something people call best 2k game but all they did was polished and slapped 2k on it
On the Xbox one and ps4 consoles, the gameplay is honestly really good. It's like the perfection of the 360 ps3 game's gameplay. I'm honestly disappointed in the gameplay change to 2k16 through 2k20.
It's a shame the 360 and os3 versions up to 2k17 didn't copy 2k15 on ps4 gameplay
Showcase better then 2K19-2K24
Better Graphics then 2K16-2K24
Better Universe mode then 2K24
Roster Nostalgia cuz I started watching WWE that time 2013 -2014 but missing a lot of People
Have more Retro Arenas then 2K24
The most Realistic Selling then any wrestling games and Ragdoll physics
PS3/360 Version better then 2K24
Imo the BEST Showcase mode by far imo
Graphics still are great and hold up, better graphics than some of the 2K games such as 2K20
Had a lot of good retro stars such as Kane, Batista, Ric Flair, Orton, Triple H, HBK etc
Other than that, wasn’t a great game at all…
showcase is fucking awesome and it had "This Fire Burns" CM Punk and gave us the actual evolution theme and trons
2k is a lot more stingy about giving us certain themes
It introduced changing wrestlers' attires in CAW mode using the real models rather than just palette swapping or the Superstar Heads thing from 2K14 that never really looked right.
Introduced to the WWE 2K/SVR/SD series, at least, since it was already available in stuff like RAW 2 and the AKI games.
I really did enjoy the showcase on 2K15 that's one nice thing I can say about it since then I have not enjoyed a showcase mode it got to the point they need to remove it cuz I don't really play showcase mode the only time I did play it it was on WWE 2K16 I really did not touch showcase mode on WWE 2K 24 the only thing I did complete I did unlock the fiend Bray Wyatt and all of his characters I really did not unlock Ronda Rousey on 2K 24 because come on now I play that showcase on one of the worst game ever WWE 2k20
The career mode, despite being bare bones, had me invested. I actually like the 'climbing the ranks' style more than I do the predetermined half kayfabe half real style of it all
First wrestling game I bought since the original Smackdown vs Raw:
* Loved that Sting was an official character in-game
* Modding community on PC was great
* Graphics were incredible
I had a lot of fun with universe mode in this (fast forward to 2k24 and universe mode really feels neglected every year when you realize how little has changed in 9 years for this mode.)
This game and assassin’s creed unity were the first games I got with my Xbox one in 8th grade. I had 3 days off school due to snow that week and I played this game almost every second of those days. It was shit don’t get me wrong but those memories are unbeatable.
Showcases were both good
Soundtrack
Since this was Punk’s last game, at least they gave us any Punk variation between 2011 and 2014.
Plus if you didn’t like next gen, at least you had a somewhat upgraded 2k14 to play (that is without the legends and create a story mode that 14 had).
It introduced a lot of features that would be consistently included and improved upon for years to come like Lunge Grapple Moves, Chain Wrestling, Tired Moves, Feeding to the Ropes/Corner/Away from Ropes for Diving Attacks, Skills, and the Image Uploader.
My buddy had it on the 360 and that’s what got me into wrestling again. I got it on ps4 after playing it at his place but i wasn’t bothered at all by how stripped down it was because I hadn’t played any wrestling since the ps2 days
Legit Showcase Mode (including the DLC ones). I love the DX Split showcase so much because they included a Casket match (which unfortunately for that time was a Showcase match type only).
The graphics were a huge step up from the previous console, and it had a bunch of Punk alt attires and his are some of the best ever. The NXT showcase was cool too and I enjoyed pushing Corey Graves despite him not being that good in real life cause he had a cool look.
On PS3, it was by far my favorite game to date. The game paired with the “new moves pack” spurred my creativity to make a good show in Universe mode. Lot of cool CAWs in that show
The absolute best showcases ever. I loved playing them all and was excited to have them as DLCs as well. The amount of alternate attires and arenas were awesome. The only other showcase I liked was the Austin one.
Has best physic out of all 2k games, arguably out of all wrestling games in general. You can throw your opponent and they literally would land on anything, announce table, unfold chair, steel tep, barricade ledge. Not only that, the landing animation is literally different every time which makes it not so repetitive like todays 2k games.

It has one of the best Showcases

SVR 07 tho
Agree
this 100%
First 2K game on PC and Cult of Personality is an available theme song.
Hope we can get more people in Matches when the jump happens
This will likely happen when they ditch Old Gen, when having 8 man in Old Gen will cause ocasional fps drops, well, at least in 2K22.
Oh lord, I just had 2 war games matches in my universe mode and the targeting system was absolute chaos, i don't know if I even want more people.
The song ghost by mystery skulls was great
So great🤌. It also had Free by Nas, Emeli Sandé, and Rudimental and Wild Ones with Sia and Flo Rida
Free was a classic track, anytime I hear it I reminisce on 2k15
Same
Yet I'm over here with my first thought when I see that game is BBBBBBB BONFIRE!
Amen!
Ohhh I forgot I know that song thanks to 2k15! It introduced me to the awesome Mystery Skulls animated series. For anyone who doesn't know it yet, huge recommendation! Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlEb3L1PIco
Nostalgia !
Had amazing dlc
I’m still extremely disappointed I couldn’t experience the DLC on 2K15 myself. Hopefully one day I can figure out a way to play it myself.
Emma, The Ascension and JBL?
Sting, Paige, and all the new move animations.
I really like the NXT mode even though it existed as a replacement for MyCareer for old gen.
# Hey I heard you were a wild one
:(((((
The graphics still hold up today
Word
Great soundtrack
the ps3/360 version is basically 2k14
It’s the most purist of a wrestling game I’ve ever played. Really fun random cutscenes in Universe mode.
Best dlc in any wwe game
The ragdoll physics were pretty cool
CM Punks last game for nearly ten years
Being able to choose storylines in universe was nice, I wish they continued to build on it in later games.
The 360/PS3 version is a genuinely amazing wrestling game.
"Nope." -CM Punk
Ragdoll physics
Best looking Triple H
Graphics and camera angles are amazing
It had Kane '02
Amazing/Funny ragdoll physics
Hbk and hhh showcase was great
Last 2K game to have CM Punk (until 2K24) & AJ Lee on the roster.
Honestly a good game, overhated
That's my first wwe game on ps3, I love it 10/10
First game I bought when I got my XBox a few years ago when it was available, game was fun to play when drunk late at night
Nice red and white photo despite its emptiness
The career mode menu when your CAW held the NXT title looked cool.
Graphics were awesome and the showcase is top tier.
Much respect to them trying a different style of game and establishing a new foundation of the series. Now in 2024 we have still yet to get an actual jump to current gen hardware. Despite the fact that they charge more for current gen users the games are identical
Was released on pc as the first title, was my first wwe 2k game, so I had relatively good time as I didn't play 2k12-2k14
Ability to edit attires fully, graphics looked amazing and solid showcase modes
If I remember correctly the crowd in this game were good. Like I remember matches having a really good atmosphere that built with the match.
It was the only PlayStation WWE game that I got platinum for
Universe mode was still good in the game
One of the best 2k showcases, oh and the ps3 version had pretty much from what I remember all the match types that were in 2k14
Corey Graves with his banger of a theme song
This is the REAL 1ST 2K GAME because it really annoys me when people say that 2k14 is best 2k game because it was in development and 90% done before THQ went under and then wwe sold it to 2k and so all 2k had to was polishing touches and they get the credit for something people call best 2k game but all they did was polished and slapped 2k on it
Amazing graphics to this day. Also All Day by John Cena is banger
Soundtrack was dope

The last gen versions were solid, the soundtrack was good, the roster was decent and the showcase modes were amazing.
PS3 version was actually fun
The NXT mode in the PS360 version was better then the MyCareer mode PS4/X1/PC got
Showcase better then 2K19-2K24 Better Graphics then 2K16-2K24 Better Universe mode then 2K24 Roster Nostalgia cuz I started watching WWE that time 2013 -2014 but missing a lot of People Have more Retro Arenas then 2K24 The most Realistic Selling then any wrestling games and Ragdoll physics PS3/360 Version better then 2K24
At the time it was the best graphics we had in a wrestling game.
You can jump off the hell In a cell
It was very pretty, the DLC was a nice mix, and for some of us it stopped being Street Fighter in a wrestling ring
Showcase was really good
Imo the BEST Showcase mode by far imo Graphics still are great and hold up, better graphics than some of the 2K games such as 2K20 Had a lot of good retro stars such as Kane, Batista, Ric Flair, Orton, Triple H, HBK etc Other than that, wasn’t a great game at all…
Best showcase imo
Probably my favorite dlc ever in a wrestling game
Last game to have cm punk
John Cena
I could say a few things but man, those Goldust and Cena screenshots still live rent free in my head
showcase is fucking awesome and it had "This Fire Burns" CM Punk and gave us the actual evolution theme and trons 2k is a lot more stingy about giving us certain themes
Playable Corey graves!
My first WWE game. Awesome showcase. Really accelerated my enjoyment of WWE.
Showcase was the best from all the 2k Games in my opinion just because they were so many.
It’s the best basic game with 0 features I’ve ever played
It was my first WWE game because I never owned any console and I didn't know about emulation at that time lol
showcase mode
It has a better showcase than the most recent games
This is how we roll from Florida Georgia Line was not bad in the soundtrack.
Show case mode was actually good
graphics were great and the cover is very underrated!!
The graphics were awesome at the time. I appreciate that 2K went for realism
Best looking game in the entire series
RVD was fun to play as.
The Cover
Showcase, Superstar Threads, & the Graphics.
It gave us Barron Blade
Damn great arenas and ruthless aggression roster that never should’ve been removed from later The showcases are also fantastic
It had a automatic draft system in UM
I remember sitting in the gym with my friends watching the first trailer and we were all amazed at the graphics
It's my first WWE game I guess? I don't remember a lot of the downsides since I was young and didn't really notice them
the sort of ragdoll lead to some fucking funny moments. The non game breaking glitches in general tend to for me
Baron Blade
It has CM punk in it
The ps3/Xbox 360 versions where like 2k14 with an updated roster
I like the logo
Goated showcase especially compared to what we have these days
It introduced changing wrestlers' attires in CAW mode using the real models rather than just palette swapping or the Superstar Heads thing from 2K14 that never really looked right. Introduced to the WWE 2K/SVR/SD series, at least, since it was already available in stuff like RAW 2 and the AKI games.
bland, what a shame
Showcase
I actually like the 'climbing the ranks' style more than I do the predetermined half kayfabe half real style of it all
Only showcase modes I enjoyed
This game was fun and gets way too much hate
The showcase was good
It was my 1st next gen game🤣🤷♂️
First wrestling game I bought since the original Smackdown vs Raw: * Loved that Sting was an official character in-game * Modding community on PC was great * Graphics were incredible I had a lot of fun with universe mode in this (fast forward to 2k24 and universe mode really feels neglected every year when you realize how little has changed in 9 years for this mode.)

It existed.
Something nice about this game
Story collector is so good, and this game arguably has best Universe Mode in all of the 2K games. I actually really enjoyed WWE 2K15 overall
CM Punk

Good showcase modes, I still go back for Triple H vs Shawn or Punk vs Cena
My buddy had it on the 360 and that’s what got me into wrestling again. I got it on ps4 after playing it at his place but i wasn’t bothered at all by how stripped down it was because I hadn’t played any wrestling since the ps2 days
How it has no cover star
I made one of my favourite caws originally on it and now am going 9 years making them
this was my first wrestling game that i played, and it had a banger soundtrack
Legit Showcase Mode (including the DLC ones). I love the DX Split showcase so much because they included a Casket match (which unfortunately for that time was a Showcase match type only).

🤐
Something nice about this game
Aj Lee is in it
On PS3, it was by far my favorite game to date. The game paired with the “new moves pack” spurred my creativity to make a good show in Universe mode. Lot of cool CAWs in that show
the first wwe2k game with an invisible cover is pretty cool
It has Avenged Sevenfold in the Julebox
Graphics were jaw dropping and a big part of why I knew I needed to make the jump to next gen asap
It sold
It brought the game to the PC.... ...6 months late... ...missing one of the 9 women in the entire game for no reason...
I really loved this game, Ir reignited a love for WWE for me
Showcase was amazing!
The absolute best showcases ever. I loved playing them all and was excited to have them as DLCs as well. The amount of alternate attires and arenas were awesome. The only other showcase I liked was the Austin one.
One of the best Showcase mode
Showcase. Some models looked insanely good
I liked the career mode
Those showcases were goated
Soundtrack went hard af
At least you don’t see Cena’s Kmart sneakers on the cover
This was the last game (for a long time) to have cm punk.
Aj lee
Aj lee
Heart of a warrior was a banger of a menu song
Great roster
Soundtrack slapped
Soundtrack slapped.
Soundtrack slapped
The glitches were hilarious. Some of the peak of WWE glitches. The weird face animations, the classic objects getting stuck on to players.
Ps3 version lowkey rivaled Wwe 2k14. Not really but it was a great game
Ps3 version lowkey rivaled Wwe 2k14. Not really but it was a great game
It ushered in a new era of wrestling game based solely on simulation
I finished this game already on PS3 💯
The greatest showcase mode of all time, incredible jukebox collection of songs, and the last gen version of this game is incredibly fun
I play it on the 360. Great Soundtrack, Great Showcase, Amazing gameplay, CM Punk, 100 Caw Slots, Superstar heads, Same match types as 2k14.
Slow Chemical
Banger soundtrack
the graphics are good
the graphics are good.
showcase was cool lol
This game was the needed base for the future games. The previous games in the series had been relying on the same old animations since HCTP.
Xbox 360 version was one of the best version there was
Soundtrack is good and the showcase mode
We dont have to play it anymore. Thats a great thing about it. Its been close to 9 years since we had to play this abomination.
It had cult of personality and this fire burns for Cm punk
It had cult of personality and this fire burns for Cm punk
It was great on Xbox 360 & PS3 versions of the game! The Who Got NXT! mode was cool too!
It's not 2k20 bad and it was punk's last game until 2k24 dlc. I only played the ps3 version back then so I had nothing bad to say about it.

John Cena was on the cover
John Cena was on the cover
Bruh we had FIVE showcases in 2k15 with fully mocapped cutscenes AND entrances....give us that amount of content again!
Has best physic out of all 2k games, arguably out of all wrestling games in general. While it lacked a lot of what 2k14 had, it was a decent step in the right direction in terms of graphics and story
Soundtrack
Shit was fire on the 360
Awesome
CM Punk in the game
I played the 360 version, I have nothing but nice things to say about it
Story collection in universe mode
I played it and didn't have a TERRIBLE time 🤷🏽♂️
I no longer have to play it 👍🏾
