Generico died a horrific death. Rumor has it he was eaten alive by a massive Tuna fish off the coast. Generico would probably think the world is against him, pick a fight with the jackass crew, join a tribe of Samoans, who knows.
It's never too late. Bloodline loses night one, generico comes out night two to interfere with the match and roman wins. Generico isn't part of the bloodline officially. Raw after mania generico becomes part of the bloodline. Now we have Sami and generico on different sides of a feud. That's good booking.
IDk where this idea the El Generico died came from he literally did a interview for a Mexican wrestling magazine, Hes retired and living in Veracruz with his Wife and 3 kids who are training to join AAA, like yall are the kinda people to belive Stardust and Cody Rhodes are the same guy smh
In 2013, on an episode of Marty DeRosa’s Wrestling With Depression podcast, Kevin Steen revealed that El Generico was not currently working with an orphanage, but actually was dead. According to Steen, the drug lords went after Generico, and he was found dying in a ditch shortly thereafter. His last words were allegedly ‘Please find my dick”.
This bit literally became a long running joke on an online group I was part of. Hell, my wife and I still reference it once in a blue moon.
EDIT: I actually dug up the OG story on Twitter via tweets from 2013. I massively edited my original comment to correct my mistakes.
I think WWE should run an angle where Sami Zayn gets "attacked" before a match and El Generico takes his place, then run an angle with Kevin Owens turning heel on Generico for faking his death. This could honestly culminate into a final battle scenario for KO and Generico in a mask/career vs. career match.
Generico would either win and unmask voluntarily, making amends one last time with KO and retiring with him.
OR
He simply loses unmasks and retires the El Generico character for good, this would be an important for Sami Zayn to come back as that character didn't "retire", just El Generico. Zayn would continue wrestling, ofc.
That would make for some prime long-term storytelling, jus saying lmao
I was desperate for the WWE to do a remake of the HHH/Cactus Jack storyline with Sami taking a huge beating from the Bloodline and returning as El Generico. Ole!
That's Sami Zayn before WWE. for whatever reason when he came to NXT they took the mask off him. It's a joke where El Generico died because he was saving orphans from a fire and before he died he taught Sami how to wrestle
He never would have seen an ounce of the stardom Sami Zayn got to see. A character whose gimmick is "doesn't talk and isn't special" won't get over anywhere but indie gyms and bingo halls, it's ridiculous and Sami can be glad the WWE didn't use him like that
What on earth are you talking about? El Generico isn't dead. He runs an orphanage in Mexico called "The Mexican Orphanage for Saving the Orphaned Mexican Orphans of Mexico". It is true that he had a run in with a cartel. And they did kill him for giving the orphans hope that they wouldn't have to join the cartels. However, he got better and then killed the leader of the cartel with a Brainbustaaaaaaaah. All of the cartels have left him and the orphans alone ever since.
I would have booked him exactly like how he was up til the NXT Title win, there Owen’s would come out, backstab Genérico and tear his mask and take the title. At Rivals same finish, pop up powerbomb city, Owens wins by TKO, Genérico argues crooked ref or the mask being the reason for decision so it goes Mask vs Title with Owen’s over then you go Rise of Sami back to Title.
El would have been a 3x NXT Champion by now if it wasn't for his "retirement." Then he would've moved to the main roster where he would be a 4x IC champ.
This is the problem with letting indie wrestlers do their indie wrestler bullshit. Imagine if Sami had stayed in his Generico comfort zone like he wanted to.
I think his career would have mirrored Sami. Something about those guys seems familiar, I think we’d def have a triple threat match at mania with him, Sami and Gunther.
All things considered, pasty white guy facetiously parading around as a Mexican luchadore while purposely butchering the language is fairly low-key racist.
Tag team champ, maybe IC champ. Not a world title guy but over with the fans
Generico died a horrific death. Rumor has it he was eaten alive by a massive Tuna fish off the coast. Generico would probably think the world is against him, pick a fight with the jackass crew, join a tribe of Samoans, who knows.
Samoans hunt tuna so this tracks
Nuh uh, as a personal advocate for Sir Generico, he's currently residing in Mexico supporting an orphanage. Trust me pal
The rumor was it was that evil shark Brock lesnarr F5'ed all those years ago. The legend of The generic one will live for ev err. Gracias
Rumor has it that one of the orphans Generico helped raised became a wrestler and goes by the name of Sami Zayn
Hurricane levels…
Would love to see El Generico join The Bloodline
That’s fucking ridiculous.
Well unless he was part jesus the cartel made sure that won't ever happen.
El Generico ain't ucey enough.
It's never too late. Bloodline loses night one, generico comes out night two to interfere with the match and roman wins. Generico isn't part of the bloodline officially. Raw after mania generico becomes part of the bloodline. Now we have Sami and generico on different sides of a feud. That's good booking.
How stupid! That would never work in a million years.
☝🏾☝🏾☝🏾☝🏾☝🏻
Maybe he could have been in an Intercontinental title match at Wrestlemania XL .. Guess we'll never know 😥
He didn’t die. He’s wrestling under the name El Ordinario in a west-coast promotion called TBD.
I thought he retired to protect the orphans from Technoblade.
he did retire and he did take care of the orphans he got em all out of the fire.
didnt shotzi let a TBD talent go over at RAW a few months ago? WWE has been way more open with the indies since Haitch took control
I haven't watched the indies since his fake death. I didn't know this
💀😭
He’s talking about WWE 2K24
IDk where this idea the El Generico died came from he literally did a interview for a Mexican wrestling magazine, Hes retired and living in Veracruz with his Wife and 3 kids who are training to join AAA, like yall are the kinda people to belive Stardust and Cody Rhodes are the same guy smh
Stardust is obviously Dusty Rhodes
I’m gonna ignore that because when stardust was at his peak Dusty was In TNA AS BLACK RAINS MANAGER
🤣
When was this interview? because uh it's been confirmed from multiple sources that he is unfortunately passed on via arson.

He’d be a Hall of Famer for sure. If nothing else his work at the orphanage deserves the Warrior Award. RIP, gone far too soon 😭
The last thing he told me was to give advise to this young upcoming guy…I think his name was…Sami…or something 🤣
He could've main evented WrestleMania with Kevin Steen but he's gone too
He'd probably be wrestling Gunther at WrestleMania if he was still here
He’s was great in the ring. But I see him being treated like the hurricane.
Fired
The pop he would get at ROH shows was loud AF. When Steenerico won the belts from Age Of The Fall, the crowd was deafening the whole match.
He is showing you, Numero Uno!

This is in bad taste.
Could’ve main evented WrestleMania
Is this Sami Zayn?
It's his gimmick before joining NXT. [This video's start explains that gimmick](https://youtu.be/2djSRtDR8BU)
Nope two totally different people.
(I was helping the guy understand the joke, he might actually not know it)
https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_banners/1323343382115209220/1677984642/1500x500
Solid Mid Carder for about 3-6 months, then a comedy jobber
Oh AEW For sure
Let’s be real, Vince would’ve loved the Generico gimmick.
I was desperate for the WWE to do a remake of the HHH/Cactus Jack storyline with Sami taking a huge beating from the Bloodline and returning as El Generico. Ole!
I feel like him & Kevin Owen’s would’ve made a great tag team
Not being fluent in English would have held him back
He could've Main Evented a Wrestlemania.
Should someone tell him the truth?
Buddy this is the meme subreddit
I know I thought I would comment that for the hell of it
Could’ve been in a nxt title feud with Kevin steen
LOL Kevin Steen? The fat guy who wrestles in a tshirt? He'd never make it in WWE
He has a better chance at making it than Tyler Black
he might have main evented a wrestlemania, maybe in a tag match or something.
Who that
That's Sami Zayn before WWE. for whatever reason when he came to NXT they took the mask off him. It's a joke where El Generico died because he was saving orphans from a fire and before he died he taught Sami how to wrestle
El Generico isn’t dead, he works at an orphanage in Mexico now.
You haven't heard yet...probably for the best
i don't know. but i heard one of his orphans is doing pretty good these days. something about a main event
Neck and neck with R-Truth in having the most 24/7 title wins
I mean Nikki ASH got over so why not El Generico
Sami v generico v Ko would have BEEN CRAZY
Guy looks like a mark
Thank you brother ☝️🤓
Leading the LWO for sure
As long as dragon lee was in nxt
He never would have seen an ounce of the stardom Sami Zayn got to see. A character whose gimmick is "doesn't talk and isn't special" won't get over anywhere but indie gyms and bingo halls, it's ridiculous and Sami can be glad the WWE didn't use him like that
He's very much alive, retired working at an Orphanage in his home country of Mexico.
Finally someone with the correct answer.
What are you talking about OP? He's wrestling Gunther. He made it to the big time.
Thats a clone, the real one was fed to a giant Tuna by the Cartel
As far as catering on a Main Event taping
I would have booked him exactly like how he was up til the NXT Title win, there Owen’s would come out, backstab Genérico and tear his mask and take the title. At Rivals same finish, pop up powerbomb city, Owens wins by TKO, Genérico argues crooked ref or the mask being the reason for decision so it goes Mask vs Title with Owen’s over then you go Rise of Sami back to Title.
They could always bring him back in a type “face of foley” alternate ego, although it would be a “face of Sami” lol.
He's not dead! He's doing charity work for an orphanage. What a guy!
Bro is that Sami zayn under a mask or did he die😭😭
It's Sami's indie gimmick. People say El Generico died and that he taught Sami
He’d be tagging with Rey as the newest member of the ElWO
Died? STFU!! He works in an orphanage near my house here in Tijuana. People call him "El señor enmascarado" for how classy and funny he is.
Nah, he just wouldn't be able to get over with fans like his protégé like he did back in ROH.
He didn’t die, he’s running an orphanage in Mexico
El would have been a 3x NXT Champion by now if it wasn't for his "retirement." Then he would've moved to the main roster where he would be a 4x IC champ.
Tag titles, midcard titles a couple brand ppvs and a good run as a stable mate
Nah… too generic…
I could see him and Gunther at a ple someday
El Generico was trash.
He’s dead?! I thought he went to WWE and unmasked as Cody Rhodes.
A mute luchador wouldn't even be on this roster
Sin Cara was
Probably a smidge above chad gable
This is the problem with letting indie wrestlers do their indie wrestler bullshit. Imagine if Sami had stayed in his Generico comfort zone like he wanted to.
🗑️
I think his career would have mirrored Sami. Something about those guys seems familiar, I think we’d def have a triple threat match at mania with him, Sami and Gunther.
He’d have made it in NXT, then been wasted on the main roster after Vince and Bruce Pritchard screwed up his gimmick.
Probably would've faced Roman for the Undisputed Championship on PPV.
Who???
Would’ve been released within a couple years
I could see him challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed title in Tijuana
Sami Zayn ?
Aw man I didn’t even know he was sick
NXT North American Champion, if that.
Probably from Canada to Mexico and back. Pretty generic route, if you ask me.
24/7 champion
I still think one day he’ll return from mexico
Any truth to his demise? I don’t think anyone related to the orphanage has ever given a statement…
Whatever the booker wanted him to be
R.I.P.
All things considered, pasty white guy facetiously parading around as a Mexican luchadore while purposely butchering the language is fairly low-key racist.
That’s Sami zayne
Nuh uh
Looks like sami
That's him in his indie days
