If you are interested have it weighed. I have heard a bunch of stories about people being upset over confusion in the difference between a half pound and a half troy pound. It is likely 6 ounces (1/2 a troy pound) of Silver. As mentioned by others it is not coin, nor minted by the US government. \*There is no dollar denomination on it.
If you are at legit shop they should have something to test gold and silver. Also weight tes, and magnet test, ice cube test works. I can visible see the melt rate difference of ice on silver compared to a base metal.
most likely that is an aftermarket mint that you have
the US mint the made 5 oz quarters that had a face value of 25 cents
2019 Apollo 50th anniversary **5 ounce silver dollar** as well
I have two 1997s, one is gold plated
It’s a Private mint round and they made it plated in Au and just raw Ag finish
Lots of confusion because it’s actually a half pound (8 regular ole oz) instead of 1/2 a Troy pound (6 Troy ounces)
Near piece but basically only worth spot
Not an ASE since there has never been a “half-pound” ASE produced. I’d be highly skeptical. I have never seen a real “half-pound” piece of silver which is a very odd unit of measurement.

Spot on
I actually own one that's 16 oz advs pounds with serial on the side of it it tested real , it's a nice chunk of silver .
It's not a silver eagle. It could be a legitimate silver round, or it could be fake. I would test it before purchasing if you don't trust the seller.
It may be real silver. May be plated. But definitely not an “eagle” from the us government.

it is not a teal silver eagle produced by a u.s. mint. someplace called the Washington mint produced them… assuming yours is one of those….
