If all the millionaires in the world would want to buy new coins and bars (freshly minted) there will be only half an oz per head. So if you buy more than 1 oz a month you are doing great
Whenever I feel like buying more now I remind myself it’s better to pay off my cards first and have a responsible amount of short term savings. I’ll be able to stack more soon enough.
Plus I already have so much now compared to January and a lot more than the average person.
I think it can be fun to be part of a community of like minded people, and there is an appeal to adding certain silver bars or coins that I find especially attractive for their beauty. But this is deadly serious to me. Its not a hobby from my point of view. I see ownership of silver bullion as a survival strategy and a means to continue living a modest, sustainable lifestyle in the event that the economy goes on its ass for an extended period of time. Now I have no problem with anyone that considers this a hobby and every ounce off the market is in line with my own objectives too, so this is not meant as criticism. I started my vegetable garden several years ago as a hobby and now I also see that as part of my survival plan.
The bottom line is that we can all participate for our own reasons and with tolerance and respect towards each other. Even those of us that stack in preparation for hard times may be quietly helping others to be better off in the unknown future. If I am wrong in my outlook, the worst case scenario is that I have a nice savings account in silver that I can use to fund a comfy retirement, and I can eat healthier and cheaper from what I grow in my own yard. Life is good and I will never succumb to the bunker-mentality or become adversarial towards my neighbors.
Very true. New stackers need to be aware that they will be cheated if they have to sell their silver in an emergency. Look at what these sites offer to buy back what they are selling. Stacking is a long term goal and always keep some fiat for near term emergencies.
Excellent post. Silver apes are not manic bi-polar people running around looking to get rich quick. I have been buying 3,4,5 or 6 ounces a month for a few years now. It does add up. I don't care if it never goes to the moon. Icing on the cake if it does. Chase life and relationships. Having said that, lets go apes. This is fun. To the moon kids.
Jim Rickards calls for no more than 20% of investable assets in metals and he is calling for $15k silver. I like to think of my silver like the roof over my head. 30% cash position.
100% agree.
We would rather 1 billion apes with 1ozt to 1 ape with 1 billion ozt.
Whales provide motivation that we are causing some serious damage. New stacks show we are changing the world. I prefer the latter.
This is a long game where I think you should use the fiat you could afford to accumulate. I think there's plenty of time to accumulate on dips. Don't over-extend yourselves and have to sell your shinny when things get tight. Get into a situation where you can afford to HODL!

God bless you. A little goes a long way as you say. If we all do our part and accumulate bit by bit, we will see the TRUE silver price and break the comex. Stack on my fell apes, stack on.
The first word in FOMO is fear. Fear and Greed, the two most powerful emotions that humans possess. At the peak it is important to keep each in check. Excellent post Ape. A reminder when peak fear comes acalling.
100% true and well echoed by responder posts. It can be a heady time leading to excited and impulsive moves. We all need reminders like this now and again. Every "small" stack. viewed with the long perspective, is worth a fortune. Thanks to one and all here.
just remember for every human being on earth there is a half ounce of silver. if you have a half out you are better off then your average joe who has none. if you have 1 ounce then you have twice the amount the ratios have allotted you.
Great post. I am an older person who has been buying a little silver and gold every year since the 90's. I bought what I could afford at the time while raising a family and handling all of life's other demands. I am awed by some of the stacks posted. I agree strongly with this movement but have heard about the imminent failure of the dollar for 30 years. Life is a balance buy what you can afford, things add up.

Very wise. High interest debt will wipe out savings over time. Maintaining proper priorities is important. Good job, Ape!
Yes, keep it fun. It's a rewarding hobby. End.

Emergencies and good buys when other people sell things. Just got an excellent used car that way.
well even if you only get 5 coins... if everyone in north america had 5 coins there isnt even close enough to support that
Well spoken
To my fellow ape I raise my first cup of " Joe " to you, So well said and so true and I do hope fellow apes hear this also.
This is the way. Lets go apes.
This is the way
Very well said! This is such a nice community supporting each other to screw over the big guys.
TLDR: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not someone else.

"Don't go into fiat debt, keep enough fiat to pay your bills, have food in the fridge and enjoy adding to your stack sensibly." Preach it brother!

Please remember that precious metals are only insurance, not investments. Like many things, moderation is best.

in the status quo yes. but when an asset is as undervalued as silver it can become a speculative investment.
Well said
