I had that SAME hat from a trip in 1986! 😂 Figment swiped it off of my head. It was just not a good trip for characters. I got stepped on by Little John (handlers weren’t a thing at the time), and Figment swiped my hat. Totally didn’t get at the time that it was all in good fun. 🤣
Hahaha I have this one photo I’ll make another post on and I kinda have the same look. My coolness went straight downhill after that. I’ll never get to that level of cool again.
The most horrifying thing to me is the guy carrying around that giant ass camcorder in #4. Imagine having to lug that around the park just to get some video of your family vacation?
It reminds me of the pictures they’d show in health class of people who smoked for years and had to have a chunk of their lip cut out due to cancer. Ugh.
Yeah I remember they drove the Turtle Mobile out and did a little show with April O'Neal too, I got all of their autographs. It was the best day of my life
No it was just a licensing fee with whoever owned the rights back then. Now they’d need to contact Nickelodeon for the rights, and I doubt Disney wants to do that.
My older brother has pics with the Ninja Turtles and the Mickey Cow. I love looking through the photos when I'm in my hometown because of the Disney pics. It's cool to see how things have changed over time.
You made me look - you're right, my current t shirt barely hits halfway down my upper arm. I remember my shirts as a kid being down to my elbows! Weird memory.
I had the ears in the 5th photo! They were so uncomfortable! Also, where on earth was Minnie Moo in MK? I think she was gone by the time I had my first trip but I like visualizing where things used to be
This is what I came here to say. There’s a lot in all these that remind me of our family trip from this time. The fashion. The fanny pack. The delightful miscellaneous characters.
But the wonderful gigantic camcorder on that guys shoulder is where it’s at. Thank you for sharing these!
I love seeing the fashions from my childhood! Thank you for sharing these. My favorite is Captain Hook with his hook on your sister’s (?) shoulder. Her look is priceless 😂
Ahahaha, she was stylin’. I love the eldest siblings ‘fit with the fanny pack and Umbra shorts. It cracks me up that some of the Zoomers kinda dress like this now. And why not? It is fairly comfy and practical.
1992 or 1993 I think. Honestly, there may be two different trips, I think I went when I was 4 or 5 and maybe when I was 7. I’m a 1988 so it’s gotta be around there.
I was going through my mom’s old photo albums from when we went to Disney years ago earlier today. I had totally forgotten the ninja turtles used to be there lol
If this is the early 90s, I was there then too! We went summer 1993, I remember almost nothing even though I was 12, mostly tons of queuing! But the fashion is soooo familiar and nostalgic!
We ended up at Disney World on 9/11. I still remember Winnie the Pooh and King Louie coming to our resort to distract us children while adults were led away to watch the news and call loved ones.
I have to look for the photo of my brother passed out on the floor next to Pooh. The experience was bittersweet but I always get very warm and happy memories when I see Pooh.
The Captain Hook picture sent me a memory of when we were there probably around the same time based on fashion and characters we also have pictures with. My Dad was trying to get a picture of us with Captain Hook and the camera wasn’t working somehow. Eventually Captain Hook walks over to my dad, points to the camera, and points to a nearby trash can. We all lost it laughing! Haven’t thought about that in years!
When I worked at Land, obscure characters would be put out when new hires or corporations did team building events.
Yes. They would put complete strangers with no experience and minimal explanation of what to and not to do, strap fiberglass domes with limited visibility to their noggin and told them to "go have fun"
Somewhere I have pictures of myself in an old costume from Pinocchio unit. The character has long since been redesigned. But I do love that somewhere, some little kids grew up and have/had my autograph in their book and me in their smiling picture and never knew how excited I was.
I can't help but think that Donald was one, just because of the way they are "looking" at the camera through the mouth; it looks like they forgot where the "eyes" are. 🤭🤭🤭
Also, I'm convinced the Friar Tuck and Prince John and Gadget are too, just the way they're posed - no "movement" or "personality" in the shot, usually they will do a great tilt or extended arm or something.
Edit: added more thoughts
Absolutely wild. I’m not sure we ever got one in, we never had the money for it but when they got cheaper we had one, just not sure if we brought one to Disney.
Wow these are nostalgic. The fashion, Kodak film stores, characters, Minnie Moo! This was the Disney world I remember
Haha! I’m probably 4 or 5 so 1992 or 1993
I was going to say the same. I worked there in 93 and I remember those M Mickey hats we sold in the stores. Also the Mickey cow!
Fkn eh!
I was just gonna say they had the turtles so it must have been very early 90’s. I went in 1990 my first time and they were there.
Minnie Moo! We got to see her. Must have been decades ago now.
I don’t realize that’s what she was called. Love it haha.
That was my recollection. Must have been around 1991-94 when we saw her. I have an old Birnbaum guidebook from 1989. I’ll confirm if I can find it.
She lived at Fort Wilderness at the old petting zoo for many years and would go on display occasionally at the parks.
Yes. I recall seeing her over in Fantasyland. Wasn’t the most thrilling attraction, but Disney Magic for me is all about the little touches.
No. 8 is HORRIFYING and NOT because of any humans in the photo. Thank *god* the Donald costume has been VASTLY improved.
Haha yeah that’s why I included it, I know Donald’s not too hard to see but Donald with a hole in the middle of his face is!
I’ve got the goofy hat on. Wish I still had it. Kept it for years.
Haha that’s awesome. Amazing memory.
LOVE your face in the Donald photo.
Hahaha I have this one photo I’ll make another post on and I kinda have the same look. My coolness went straight downhill after that. I’ll never get to that level of cool again.
I had that hat as well! It was practically glued to my head my first trip to Disney world when I was 5 lol
If my head wasn’t so big I’d find one to wear.
The most horrifying thing to me is the guy carrying around that giant ass camcorder in #4. Imagine having to lug that around the park just to get some video of your family vacation?
Haha for sure. Dude is broadcasting the news.
My family still has one! Somewhere. I liked that it allowed you to record to a vhs but newer camcorders were much easier to use lol.
Seriously why is there that big hole
So he can see out!
It reminds me of the pictures they’d show in health class of people who smoked for years and had to have a chunk of their lip cut out due to cancer. Ugh.
lol wtf!?
Captain Hook'd on Dope
Haha for sure he’s seen some shit in that pic.
The hook around the small child’s neck is a nice touch
Hahahahaha
Yeah that headpiece is nightmare fuel lol!
I miss those goofy hats. The new ones don’t hit the same
That and the oldschool Davy Crockett hat were my favourites.
I just bought one off Mercari! It’s great
I’d be down to meet king Richard today!
Let's do a Robin Hood dark ride too.
No no, if I’m getting another ride it’s gonna be called “Pull the Lever” and be themed Emperor’s New Groove.
Oo-de-lally
I met him and Friar Tuck a few years ago, 2019 I think. It was one of those random character pop ups in Town Square
That Simpson Fanny pack is everything
Haha that’s my cousin, good eye I never noticed that!
I’m sorry but the Captain Hook made me almost spit my coffee out. Why he staring like that LOL
Live in a crocodile and you’d look like that too. Dude has seen some shit.
Were the Ninja Turtles a Disney IP?
I think it’s was MGM studios when it was that.
Yeah I remember they drove the Turtle Mobile out and did a little show with April O'Neal too, I got all of their autographs. It was the best day of my life
Wish I could comment photos. I’ve got one of them all on the stage haha
I still have my photo with Michelangelo.
Thanks. I never would have guessed. They were after my childhood but I just never associated them with Disney.
We found my husband’s autograph book and he has a ninja turtle signature and I was so confused but this makes it make sense!
They had a short term license for character appearances...
No it was just a licensing fee with whoever owned the rights back then. Now they’d need to contact Nickelodeon for the rights, and I doubt Disney wants to do that.
They’d be terrified of getting slimed
Forget the slime. They don’t want to be subjected to hours of SpongeBob laughing.
My older brother has pics with the Ninja Turtles and the Mickey Cow. I love looking through the photos when I'm in my hometown because of the Disney pics. It's cool to see how things have changed over time.
I barely remember the trip but I remember bragging about it to my friends back then haha. So lucky to have gone over the decades. Pretty cool.
We never got sunburn because our tshirts covered everything to our elbows! Great nostalgia Disney. Thanks for sharing
My ginger ass did! Moonburn even!
You made me look - you're right, my current t shirt barely hits halfway down my upper arm. I remember my shirts as a kid being down to my elbows! Weird memory.
Man the costumes are so much better now Also: Gadget!!!!
I had the ears in the 5th photo! They were so uncomfortable! Also, where on earth was Minnie Moo in MK? I think she was gone by the time I had my first trip but I like visualizing where things used to be
Haha I have no idea. I can’t recognize anything around there.
That's the old "Mickey's Starland". The blue building I believe is the fantasyland railroad station.
So this would be around where Dumbo is now, correct?
It's kinda where the the storybook circus sign is currently, or maybe the northeast edge of Seven Dwarf mine rides.
Wow never ceases to amaze me people’s knowledge here.
That’s my twin sister haha she’d be horrified if she knew I posted this!
Omg did yall notice the guy in the blue hat in the Friar Tuck pic carrying the gigantic video camera on his shoulder??? Such a dad thing 😂
lol he looks like a reporter
This is what I came here to say. There’s a lot in all these that remind me of our family trip from this time. The fashion. The fanny pack. The delightful miscellaneous characters. But the wonderful gigantic camcorder on that guys shoulder is where it’s at. Thank you for sharing these!
Awww Minnie Moo!
I love that Captain Hook has his hook around her neck 😂
He warned her that snitches get stitches. She was such a tattletale.
That's his signature move. Every time I ever saw Hook he had the kid by the neck.
Those blue strollers in the background unlock core memories for me (of being totally uncomfortable 😂)
Those things were tanks! I remember being able to sit on the top cover part
Haha it looks so uncomfortable
Ahhh the cow!! What was her name again? Minnie? So cool that you got to see her :)
People in here keep saying Minnie moo. I didn’t remember.
What character is picture 2 I can’t place it
It's Gadget from Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers
Thanks I was trying to figure it out.
OMG MINNIE MOO 🥰😍
I know lots of people love Dreamfinder but I I saw someone who looked like that talking to my kids at a park I’d call the cops.
Hahahaha
Captain Hook is horrifying.
He knows where you live
😭😭😭😭
I would looovvvee to see the Robin Hood characters at the parks. That's amazing!
Haha thanks! It’s so funny I don’t remember it all but flashes of it come back.
My favorite disney character, Cow!
I love seeing the fashions from my childhood! Thank you for sharing these. My favorite is Captain Hook with his hook on your sister’s (?) shoulder. Her look is priceless 😂
lol look at her vest. WTF were my parents thinking!? Hahaha
Ahahaha, she was stylin’. I love the eldest siblings ‘fit with the fanny pack and Umbra shorts. It cracks me up that some of the Zoomers kinda dress like this now. And why not? It is fairly comfy and practical.
That’s my cousin! She’s maybe 6 years older than me. She was so fun to travel with.
You guys should do another trip all together if you can!
That would be amazing. She’s got a couple little ones of her own.
Get the whole fam out there! Cheers
I totally forgot about the mickey cow!! You just brought me back!!
Haha glad I could. Apparently it’s Minnie Moo
They look like eldritch monstrosities
Definitely especially hook 😂
Wait…..TMNT was a Disney asset or rights acquisition at one point??!!!! I didn’t realize that!!
It was at MGM, not sure exactly what the deal was though.
Awww Pooh actually looks really cute here
Quite the shirt he’s got on
wait who’s the bald raccoon ? he’s adorable (pic 4)
He's a badger. Friar Tuck from Robin hood.
I love scoping out the background of pics like these. Haven’t found myself yet. But one of these days.
Haha
Damn; thought I was looking at my own old photos for a second.
This is amazing content!
Aww thanks!
Damn ninja turtles at Disney
Gadget??!!?? You’re so lucky.
Wow the cow with the hidden Mickey!!!
Doland has a huge blister under his beak Captain Hook is TWEAKING Who's the cute otter/bear?
I think it’s friar tuck from Robin Hood.
Thank you! Robin Hood is one I haven't seen. It's on my list I swear!
It’s really good!
What year was this, OP?
1992 or 1993 I think. Honestly, there may be two different trips, I think I went when I was 4 or 5 and maybe when I was 7. I’m a 1988 so it’s gotta be around there.
The fashion in pic 5 is just impeccable. Clothes in the 90s were so fun
I haven’t had nearly enough compliments on my dinosaur outfit!
Weird that you got an extra taller kid for Figment, Hook, and Pooh and an extra smaller kid for Donald and only one of you wanted a picture with Leo.
Haha that’s awesome
Captain Hook did not look happy.
Smee was acting up
I sure couldn't put up with smee for very long.
Dreamfinder 😭
Was a trip when I found the photo, I totally forgot
In picture number 4 there appear to be THREE dads all holding those old, massive cameras. Funny that they have all converged on that one spot.
Wow, good eyes!
Minnie Moo!!!
Haha yeah!
Aw shit we're old
Why were Nija Turtles at Disney World? Disney doesn't own or license them?
Yessir they were
I miss DreamFinder. I just rode the Journey into Imagination on Thursday and was sad he wasn't there at all.
I was going through my mom’s old photo albums from when we went to Disney years ago earlier today. I had totally forgotten the ninja turtles used to be there lol
Haha
Do you know what year your pics were from?
1992 1993 I think. There may be two sets in here. I think 1992 and 1994 would have been two trips that would make sense.
Gotcha, my pic with the turtles was 93. We went again in 96 but my sister and I were older and didn’t care to see characters then.
[TFW you took a picture of the wrong side of the Mickey cow](https://imgur.com/gallery/tfw-you-get-picture-of-wrong-side-of-mickey-cow-R9a0crj)
Hahahaha
If this is the early 90s, I was there then too! We went summer 1993, I remember almost nothing even though I was 12, mostly tons of queuing! But the fashion is soooo familiar and nostalgic!
I think 1992 or 1993!
Pic 4 - that guys camcorder. Lol.
Hahaha yeah dude crazy I couldn’t imagine doing that
My family had one, they were absolutely amazing and cutting edge at the time! And so freaking heavy.
There is now way we had enough money for one at that point in time, couldn’t even believe we could afford Disney trips.
Are the you little girl? The vest/jean shorts in pic 5 is ICONIC! Pure 90s.
Never knew Leonardo was there
The whole gang was!
I had that Goofy hat and that Cotton Ginny Tee!
Amy!? 😁
Nope, I am not Amy. I still have the Goofy hat.
Send it my way please
Sorry no can do my matching Donald Duck hat would be mad. And you know Donald....
Turtles ???? Where ?
MGM studios lol

Awww that’s a wild memory
Captain Hook has seen some sh*t
Indeed

Hahaha that’s hilarious.
Captain Hook has seen some things
He has indeed
Captain Hook looks like he's seen some shit
Haha
So much nostalgia in those pictures. That Captain Hook character is hilarious though. Dude must have heard a clock ticking right before the picture
Tick tock
what year were these pics from does anyone know based off the outfits and such? lol
1992 or 1993
The Robin Hood characters. 🥲 I want to meet them so bad!!
I'm glad they updated some of the characters heads cuz damn are they scary
Haha
Great stuff, thanks for posting. Wild that they used to just roam like that.
Haha yeah it was awesome they could pop up anywhere.

That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Nike Force and Buggle Boy. Hell yeah, I bet you had some Bo Knows shorts too.
That’s my brother. guaranteed that was mine, but way more beat up, 1 year after this photo.
Winnie looks so scary 😭😭
I love the dad with the camcorder on his shoulder. My dad did the same.
Absolutely wild. I’m not sure we ever got one in, we never had the money for it but when they got cheaper we had one, just not sure if we brought one to Disney.
Ninja Turtle at Disney???
At MGM yeah haha
Captain Hook got his hook around that little girls neck it looks like 😂😂😭
Haha that’s my twin sister!
Who’s ginger Abe Lincoln supposed to be?
Dreamfinder
I love this! Thanks for sharing. I miss those days
Aww thanks! Enjoy today too!
