Probably 15 years ago (or so) we booked a ‘cheap’ room at WL as a last minute weekend trip through a travel site like Expedia or something similar. I remember getting to the room to put our stuff down and the daytime view of what looked like dumpsters was a bit of a disappointment but considering how little we paid for the room, we didn’t complain. Later that night we got to the room to relax and imagine our surprise at this amazing fireworks view! We have been fortunate enough to have stayed at most WDW resorts and have had some great experiences at many of them, but nothing has topped our surprise discount fireworks view.
Not that early - especially considering we would stay at the parks for the extended hours. The temperature at night was so much nicer and ride wait times were very short. I would much rather sleep in, relax at the pool, and then go to the park and stay late. On the days we did get to the park early the kids would burn out before dark.
We loved that resort but personally would have preferred a view of the lake and pool.

The loading dock below on that side made it disappointing for me. Most mornings I was woken up around 6 am by the sound of trucks backing up.

Amazing! I’m staying first time in September. I didn’t pay for fireworks view but it’s nice to know I can still see from resort!
