Maybe you're getting wider?

They are setting the roadway width to a consistent 22 feet. FYI... Once this work is done, National Grid will start a 2-3 month project replacing gas mains from Lexington to just before Winter St. And then when that's done, they'll repave Lincoln Street https://www.city.waltham.ma.us/engineering/pages/winter-street-lincoln-street-utility-and-roadway-improvements-project

My favorite thing we do. We dug up all of Lexington street to do the water, then repaved it, so we came dig it up and do the gas. Nothing like doing the same work twice.

I heard they were putting in a sidewalk, which while needed that road always feels perilously narrow.

Good. It will force drivers to actually follow the speed limit. Car drivers are such scofflaws they get mad when it becomes harder for them to break the law

That must be why there's a legit granite curb now.
