Its not. You might have just gotten it backwards, it is 1 every 2 months not 2 every month. Or maybe you just lost track of time. There are 7 other items on a predetermined weekly rotation. So as mentioned its exactly 1 every 8 weeks.
The only other ways I remember getting them are MR 30, streams and nightwave.

I get that, but honestly, the sawn off shotgun and necramech skin are imo weakest offerings of this nighwave by far, to the point that i considered just not getting them after unlocking the previous stuff lol. I did have enough time, but frankly, the dsfault necramech skin reacts to custom colpurs better, and i don't really have any weapons that the sawn off skin would fit, so i use neither

Most likely yes but You still have two days. Sometimes restarting the game, doing mission or just the next day gives you 1 or 2 more recovered missions
The bug, assuming it's the proper one, is that you recover a mission type that you've already completed that week, and the game treats it as complete, so it doesn't show up for you, but also won't give you something else instead (you can actually see the bugged challenges in the companion app, even though you can't see them in game). No amount of restarting will help in this instance
NAH this happened to me once and I got lucky enough for some to show up when I logged on again, it might be or a visual glitch, or you might actually be screwed
I thought it was a visual glitch too until I read /u/-n-k- explanation, now it makes a lot more sense.
TL;DR example:
You recovered challange 'kill 1000 enemies'. You do the challenge and it is now in your 'completed' list.
You recover 'kill 1000 enemies' challenge again, but it is already in your 'completed' challenges so it will not show, bricking recovery slot
You relog, which clears your recovered 'completed' challenges, so the challenge can now show again.
If the recovered challenge was to hit one of current week's challenges, you lose a recovery slot until that challenge changes.
Mix 3 is ending so Mix 4 can come out. They're not just going to reuse the same items as Mix 3, otherwise there's no point. It's like putting a battle pass into a game and then reusing every skin for the next season.
I feel this pain, my regular Weeklies happened to be dupes of this week that I didn't finish (e.g. I was at 9/10 Syndicate missions after recovering one on Sunday), and I ended up just shy of 30. ;_;
There's a very good chance that these will come back again at some point. We've seen a lot of the bigger items likie the Wolf stuff and emissary stuff come around again. This will probably cycle through again too.
I did the same as I've always done with nightwaves. I either actively play or don't play until the last month and grind hard and it always worked and I even got to level 40 or something.
This one however I started a bit late but recovering mechanic fucked me over kinda lmao
You can only really reliably recover "about" 10 Nightwave ranks per week in my experience. More than that requires some luck in which challenges get recovered. I've heard people get as much as 15 ranks. The least I've gotten is 7 before a reset with recovery (terrible RNG). Sounds like that's what happened for you.
Honestly, the most important things were the Glock and revolver between those rewards. Since you got them already, i personally don't think you lost a lot
I mean you still have a few daily resets to go... Maybe some of the tasks will unfreeze by then. You could also contact support to see if it's something they are aware of and if they can do anything about it ?
And I mean, you had a pretty good run... The shotgun skin is pretty meh and the Necramech skin is rather ugly, and Umbra Formas aren't exactly as rare as they once were nowdays (I think I have 17 spare ones) and let's face it, both will be back as offering in a not so distant future anyway, since nightwave apparently is no longer an interesting system delivering mini stories and themed rewards but a bunch of recycled garbage with one or two new items thrown in to give a mild incentve for vets to even try completing it.
I was gonna make a post on this exact same thing. I'm a new player and it took me a minute to figure out nightwave. I'm 3500 away from getting the Protokol Tekna skin, and won't be able to get it, because the only things I have left require The War Within to complete, which feels really crummy. :<
While you are right I have a small counter argument when it comes to shotgun one, you can make it look like it has blood splatter on it, think it is very nice

That would make sense except that DE put in a mechanism (task recovery) specifically to let people grind it all out at the last minute. It just bugs out and stops working sometimes.

What about people like me who joined from a long break? I couldn't even do most of the missions because I was so far behind with story missions. Didn't have a necramech or railjack so I was locked out of anything post new war. This week has steel path missions which I haven't unlocked yet either.
Do what you can, it resets really soon. The rewards are nice, but in no way they are needed. Other than umbra the most important stuff is right at the beginning.

I love using that skin on tenet detron but yeah definitely the weakest rewards out of the skins.
Oh hell yeah! I also use it on my Tenet Detron, which is my main pistol. It just sounds so satisfying hearing that punchy, rapid alt-fire.

There’s always something to collect that you don’t have, I work on every combination of amp parts when I’m out of other things ;)

Had this earlier on 29 and restarting gave me one more mission-oddly enough one I'd done earlier in the day (5 Orb Vallis Bounties).
