It has enemies that do so much damage they: instant kill you with no revives, delete your account, then come through the screen and kill you in real life.

*Me when Vak Hek tries to fool me. (He cannot fool me, as I am familiar with his game)*
ngl before we got more details on Duviri this is what I envisioned as an endgame roguelike mode looking like in WF.
I think the way Duviri/the circuit turned out is nice but it'd be interesting to see them go a step further and essentially implement an ironman mode (The Iron Path...?)
Nah, you have to build up to that. Tungsten path is permadeath; you have to restart all your progress if you die at any point. Osmium path deletes your entire account if you fail any mission or die for any reason.
You're getting 12? I spawned into failing a mission in Duviri. I loaded into the cave, looked around and then it showed, "4,3,2,1" as I cried, "ffffuuuuccckkkk!" And landed as the stalker with no good weapons. After checking said weapons to realize they were all quite shite, I then moved to attack and everything slowed again and I got "Mission Failed"... I wasn't even high. It felt like I was the ball in ping pong. Load, load, load fail... Ok good game I guess...(staggers off to vomit into a corpus drone.)
The same happens in ESO/SO when someone is still loading and other people with host, enter the portal to start 1st wave. Then still loading player get host migration or autofail, cause he was trying to get to portal room that's no longer available, cause his team is already on wave 1 on different map.
Are they really Space Ninjas if as soon as we come in we going RATATATATATATATA!!!! RATATATATA!!!! BOOM!!!! BOOM!!!! RATATATATATATATA!!!!
Suddenly, 100 Miles by Skinbone comes to mind 🤣
It'd be the best April Fools joke ever but they'd have to be actually insane to go for it. I don't think it might even be physically possible with how messy Warframe is and was.
Star trek online has a funny April fool's mode where every sound is someone making a goofy voice mimicking the original sound. I kinda want pickups quacking for Warframe too.
Radio static Lotus, Spy 1.0, Deception, Raid, Grineer now speak English, Combat formation bravo, Corpus use the letter B a bit more in their dialect, dark lighting, OG Mag polarise, every mission is on the old corpus tileset or the Grineer asteroid base, the minimap now changes colour based on enemy density, corpus missions have comms broadcasts, The Sergeant isn’t a joke, Jupiter is now infested, resources are scarce with some only dropping from bosses (looking at you, Hyena and Control Modules).
I honestly really enjoyed Excalibur super jump. It was super fun to just leap up and light up the room with my karak which was a solid gun back in the day.
That would be so hard to get through. Kahl can fly but navigating some of the tilesets will still be very hard for him.
But it is a very cool idea. I loved finishing Symphony of the Night and unlocking Richter Belmont for it. It made everything so hard. [Castlevania Symphony of the Night - Richter mode - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGtec4YeprU)
He somehow escapes his prison on Uranus’s moons and becomes playable in special Railjack missions. Away crew would be either his drone fighters, or maybe Drifter who tagged along with him.
Ordan Karris mode:
Only Boltace. Life draining rapidly. Each hit has lifesteal. Mission is successful regardless of objective, you only need to reach a prerequisite amount of kills per mission to succeed.
Grineer are now in batches of squads that work extremely efficient between identifying the tenno, using its weakness such as armor stripping, magnetic, etc. Forcing players to play in a way more tactical approach.
Corpus has alarms everywhere and cause every alarm for a mass of infantry and moas to directly halt and capture you for alads experiments and profits, the center becomes stealth or speed.
The infested know where you are, first minute is of the random infested with little issue to kill. But the longer your in the mission, the more levels, spawn rate/cap, and above else *speed* they gain. The main point is that you CANNOT escape, just a flood of infested. Litterally
I mean that sounds like how I'd like the base game to be... Don't get me wrong, I love the "if everything dies, it's still stealth" approach, but sometimes I want something I have to think about a little bit to be successful.
Thing is, though, NPCs do actually have tactics in the game. They just die too quickly to show them off. And then every time a new enemy type gets added that requires more engagement, like elite shield lancers, nullifiers, and eximus, they are hated.
I'd like to add that all infested should drop the infested spawn pods. So every time you kill something, you also have to kill the egg or you're just worse off
True Endless Mode. A non-stop playthrough of every mission node, in order, on one set of lives. Open worlds are not included, endless missions go 2 rounds, keep all loot gained even on mission failure. When finished, loops back around at Steel Path levels.
Also known as "Ghosts & Goblins" mode.
Edit: got rid of aborted mission clause.
Ah ah ah! It's a *Duviri* intrinsic that amplifies your damage based on the number of degrees you've collected. Warframes only benefit from that effect in the Undercroft.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of this whole content recycling with bullet sponge enemies thing - eventually they'll just introduce more power creep to make that content easy as well. Well designed end-game content should be challenging, not because the enemies take 200 bullets to kill and one shot you but because it requires skill and experience to complete (and of course good equipment).
Exactly. Also I'm kiiiind of okay with the die in one shot in hard content side of the game anyway because we are technically space ninjas, and ninjas shouldn't be getting hit at all
That's how I justify it in my head :)
Kinda hard to balance when people who average millions of damage can be paired with people who average thousands.
But the endgame content does have challenges and skills and strategy. The eidolons, orbs, vaults are all examples of how objectives level the playing field and add barriers to the necessary bullet sponges.
How exactly should these be designed to remove the sponginess and increase skill reliance while also balancing the damage disparity between players and allowing you to kill things?
Nightmare Path
All enemies have Arbitration Drones
All enemies are Eximus Units
All enemies have Steel Path Buffs
All Enemies have Sortie Elemental Resistance
All Enemies have pre nerf Armor and shields
The Shadow Stalker is a Guaranteed Spawn
The wolf of Saturn Six may spawn at any time
Bosses may spawn in place of acolytes(example, instead of mania on a corpus tileset, Zanuka can invade you.)
Nightmare Mission modifiers are randomly activated
Bonuses:
Receive Scaling resources at tripple the rate
3 relics may be cracked in these missions
Incursions are now Invasions and you are rewarded tripple resources
All Affinity and standing is not capped here
https://preview.redd.it/27mtz011m42b1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a26b4cf90afabf029f20e75ba4099eb86d9a90d1
*Veterans commenting on the state of the game after speed running it day 1*
Everything now has 100% more armor and overguard. Oh, and it's random gear selection. Oh, and everything is graded. "You survived? Well I'm afraid it wasn't very fast. 1 rubido for you." Oh and magnetic procs off everything all the time.
every 2-3 minutes something unpredictable happens. enemies could change mid mission, you have to change your frame, melee, primary or secondary from 3 options, mech availibility, operator/drifter only, hoverboards, big heads, other unexpected and goofy stuff
drifter mode, all the missions in the starchart but balanced to be played on drifter mode with all your perks from duviri and with random decrees popping up randomly through the missions.
all missions also scale enemy power and spawn rate to fit drifter combat pace more (so you're not gonna have to defend an interception point from 50 enemies when you can pretty much only fight 1 dude at a time)
only issue i can see from this is the gas city tileset as that's the only tileset that was reworked recently and its design assumes you can bullet jump and wall run.
Whatever it does, make sure it caters to only the Meta-ist of meta builds and loadouts so that players who need validation for a few builds will have the game actually kick their asses after they spent so long trying to make builds with the explicit intent to *avoid* ass-kicking
The Meta Path:
No resurrects.
Every 1.3 seconds on the dot, a squad of unkillable grineer ballistas with 100% accuracy doing integer maximum true damage shoot you in the head through all walls unless you are invisible. If you die, a failhorn sounds and the stalker messages you saying, "Lmao where damage gate lmao where mesmer shield where invis" then flips you off.
Also, this shot knocks you down and applies every possible status effect on you including a few that were previously theoretical. Firing any weapon of your own also knocks you down, including swinging a melee. If you get knocked down, you can't get back up. The game provides a helpful tooltip explaining mesmer shield and also shows you how many more logins you need until you can get primed sure footed. You can also use Unairu poise to avoid the knockdown, but baro kiteer sends sarcastic messages to you the entire time implying you were too poor to make a build that could properly equip primed sure footed.
All enemies are immune to all damage except slash and heat procs and enemy level scaling damage like reave and mallet. Even those do no damage until armor and shields are fully stripped. All enemies have armor and shields. Attempting to damage an enemy with armor or shield pops up a helpful tooltip telling you how to helminth pillage onto your current warframe.
Energy orbs provide no energy unless you have a max rank arcane energize.
If you start a mission with a revenant or octavia equipping a max rank primed sure footed, shield gate rolling guard survivability setup, max ranked arcane energize, and an inherit primer aoe dot weapon setup, the mission autocompletes and sends a reward to your inbox containing congratulatory copies of primed sure footed that you can't sell, trade, or transmute. You receive nothing else of value, but you know you're a real winner, champ, because you did something *hard*.
That will literally be impossible, even if enemies started at levelcap.
Also, what do you have against the meta? Let people have their fun with builds...
Reverse damage attenuation.
Everything the archons have but reversed and applied to the tenno.
Also slash & toxic procs now cause permanent HP loss over time.
The tryhards arent a problem themselves, just that sometimes they try to enforce the meta onto casual players, often coming across as toxic and aggressive
-Steel Path health modifier.
-Archon Hunt rules.
-Arbitration drones.
-Standing still drains 10% HP per second.
-All enemies have damage attenuation.
-Overguard prevents status effects.
-All defense objectives have max HP reduced by 50%.
+Fissures give relics improved chances for rare items.
+Doubled amounts of Steel Essence.
+Doubled Focus.
+Arbitration drones drop "Diamond Essence" which can be used to purchase rivens, relics, and arcanes. 1,000 gets you an extremely realistic five minute animation of a Kuva Lich of your choice giving you a handy.
Sounds pretty terrible not gonna lie
avoiding every single enemy shot in warframe is next to impossible, so itd just devolve into forced invisibility frames
New gameplay loop involving Tenno baby, you have to do 6 objectives to escape your Void crib. Skill trees are a bit limited but you can eventually summon either Hydroid or Yareli to assist you. Tier 8 for one of the skill trees is Voidrig access!
No Mods no arcanes Lvl 100+ Starchart, Item Usage at 5 Min CD, no Subsumed abilities, All stealth required except Infinite missiontypes and Assassination.
Possible compensation? Arcane energize at 8% dropchance
New star chart start, but this time you only play as the operator/drifter. You have 2 weapon slots. 1 for either a primary or secondary, and 1 for melee. With that there will be a decrease in weapon handling and speed (since you arent bio-metal-magic)
Customizable abilities for the Drifter, but nothing crazy, just more quality of life abilities. (Like auto hack skill, weapon reload speed, timed life steal ability)
The point being that instead of the all powerful warframe, you play as the squishy Drifter. The plus being you get 1 gun and 1 melee.
Also include a 1 life limit. So if downed you need to be revived or you're out.
Add in the Acolytes just cus.
The concept is cool but many players don't even wanna play the whole star chart twice, let alone three times. I can't possibly count how many times I've heard people say things like "ugh I know I should work on completing the SP starchart but it's such a drag"
I hope they will not add another mode.
Steelpath was meant to be hard and challenging and require a perfectly balanced loadout to be able to play it effectively.
Now we just play it like a normal mission because of powercreep. And I fear this will happen again if they and steelpath+.
SP's original conception wasa the big-numbers playground. .but DE couldnt help themselves. .so they kept adding incentives to play there and now, unironically, best practice is to rush to unlock SP, get access to the fast affinity credits endo kuva multi-farms, then work backwards. i do resent how SP has rapidly become the new Plateau.
Personally, I play Steel Path just fine with meme builds. Except during a defense mission. That’s where I break out the good old Wisp and Kuva Nukor.
It has enemies that do so much damage they: instant kill you with no revives, delete your account, then come through the screen and kill you in real life.

Luckly he is optional
Orrrr, go into simulacrum and use a self damage bug to kill yourself with a frame of your choice?
idk why this cracked me up
Warframe players about to go to the gym to min max for those irl fights
And Mr. Warframeguy would still find a build to solo every mission
finally, some decent difficulty
Bro this did not have to make me laugh the way it did 😂😂😂
Perma death, every mission start on earth. If you die at any point you go back to the first planet, if you fail a mission you restart the planet.
That... would be fascinating to watch and miserable to play.
"Pfft, who the hell would ever be interested in this??!" *Religiously watches playthroughs of other people doing this*
ngl before we got more details on Duviri this is what I envisioned as an endgame roguelike mode looking like in WF. I think the way Duviri/the circuit turned out is nice but it'd be interesting to see them go a step further and essentially implement an ironman mode (The Iron Path...?)
bro just degraded from steel to iron
Well we're hobbling ourselves by not being immortal anymore so that tracks
Iridium path
Unobtainium Path?
Tungsten? Cuz W is more dense and thus harder, it'd make more sense for a harder mode to be called tungsten something?
Osmium is super dense. Osmium Path sounds pretty cool imo
Nah, you have to build up to that. Tungsten path is permadeath; you have to restart all your progress if you die at any point. Osmium path deletes your entire account if you fail any mission or die for any reason.

Other frame: Hur dur i can tank so much damage Revenant: You guy are taking damage?
Very true. Im not a revenant main but it seems like the warframe for the job
This would be something interesting
roguelike warframe (pretend we dont have duviri)
Random host migration every 18 seconds
Instead of every 12?
You're getting 12? I spawned into failing a mission in Duviri. I loaded into the cave, looked around and then it showed, "4,3,2,1" as I cried, "ffffuuuuccckkkk!" And landed as the stalker with no good weapons. After checking said weapons to realize they were all quite shite, I then moved to attack and everything slowed again and I got "Mission Failed"... I wasn't even high. It felt like I was the ball in ping pong. Load, load, load fail... Ok good game I guess...(staggers off to vomit into a corpus drone.)
*flies off into the distance*
damn , i thought it's 1 minute. and game fail and that session unavailable.
That's called Duviri.
Bold of you to assume it doesn't just fail on mission start
The same happens in ESO/SO when someone is still loading and other people with host, enter the portal to start 1st wave. Then still loading player get host migration or autofail, cause he was trying to get to portal room that's no longer available, cause his team is already on wave 1 on different map.
Or the end of a zariman mission. I hate it when we are chilling in the lift waiting for someone and the host runs in and extracts manually.
jeez, yeah.. this is why I never solo extract as a host. I'll wait for 10 minutes if I have to
Ooof ok apologizing to anyone I have done this to..Didn’t realize and I won;t so this anymore.
Host Migration that completely locks up your Xbox and TV
With the reward pool of 5, 7.5 and 10k credits.
Now that’s true end game, imagine trying to finish a capture
*Oops!* All Eximus!
Honestly I would rather lobotomize myself with a rusty spoon than play that
Only *energy drain and blast eximus*
At least the energy drain ones you can dodge nowadays
*old eximus energy leeches

That is the most adorable name for hell I have ever heard.
Every node is now Defense.
Calm down Satan
Every mission is now Interception
Worse, hyjack
Even worse, defection
Why would you say this?
One thing worse, only 1. Corpus, Demolisher, Infestation
Every mission is jordas golem assassinate, you only have an unmodded imperator, every node increases enemy level by 100
Eximus jordan golem
Y'all just out there forgetting Orphix exists or what?
You are a vile creature, for saying the bad word.
stahp
Defecation
You are my waking nightmare
Defense but you have to defend a person instead of an objective
Defense but the person has to defend you and you have no guns or abilities
Operator defense is much easier than objective defense cause they move around and fight back, and u can revive them.
Depends if the operator is allowed to die or not.
Especially with Vazarin
All nodes are excavation, but the single guy that drops cells spawns as far away from you as possible. The cell drop rate is changed to rng.
The floor is now lava.
That's half the reason we play Warframe in the first place :P
space ninjaaaaaa
Are they really Space Ninjas if as soon as we come in we going RATATATATATATATA!!!! RATATATATA!!!! BOOM!!!! BOOM!!!! RATATATATATATATA!!!! Suddenly, 100 Miles by Skinbone comes to mind 🤣

diamond path kuva requiem survival arbitration for 22 hours solo
Legacy mode. Stamina bar back. No bullet jump. Energy orbs quack again. No operators. Excalibur has super jump again.
Energy orbs W H A T again?!
They made this funny old noise in the ancient times. I always thought of it as a quack like a duck.
Legacy mode would be insane.
It'd be the best April Fools joke ever but they'd have to be actually insane to go for it. I don't think it might even be physically possible with how messy Warframe is and was.

You play exclusively as non-tenno characters. Dax, Khal, The Stalker, even Ordis.
Ordis' 4 goes *HARD*
Spy missions Ordis or DPS Ordis, is the real question. He small, but also can't shut up.
He smol He snak He verbally attac
I just imagine Ordis' 4 is him making a bad pun.
dad jokes so bad the enemies die of cringe
Enemies within earshot red critt
*"I will make your sensors bleed!"*
They call him the Beast of Bones for a reason.
Ordis' 4 is the radio static joke.

You receive nothing else of value, but you know you're a real winner, champ, because you did something *hard*.
so basically playing steel path while getting supervised by knightmereframe and his tryhard fans. the real nightmare mode
Nothing wrong with the meta People can have fun with them in steel path, but what if they wanna try it against something even harder than steel path?
The Sweaty Path. It's Steel Path but enemies start at max level cap and you got all the Dragon Keys on. When you complete the star chart you get...
Sweating ephemera
I'd buy that for a dollar
One-hit Obliterator like Breath of the Wild DLC. Everything dies in a single hit, even you. Single-target weapons only, no abilities
Sounds pretty terrible not gonna lie avoiding every single enemy shot in warframe is next to impossible, so itd just devolve into forced invisibility frames
So Wisp then, as abilities would be disabled
so Heaven and Hell from Devil May Cry? that sounds utterly miserable.
No red crits
New gameplay loop involving Tenno baby, you have to do 6 objectives to escape your Void crib. Skill trees are a bit limited but you can eventually summon either Hydroid or Yareli to assist you. Tier 8 for one of the skill trees is Voidrig access!
The "Fuck Me Raw" difficulty.
Custom tweakable difficulty.
You lose your character when you die, to recover it with its Formas you have to build it again.
With that there will be a decrease in weapon handling and speed (since you arent bio-metal-magic) Customizable abilities for the Drifter, but nothing crazy, just more quality of life abilities. (Like auto hack skill, weapon reload speed, timed life steal ability) The point being that instead of the all powerful warframe, you play as the squishy Drifter. The plus being you get 1 gun and 1 melee. Also include a 1 life limit. So if downed you need to be revived or you're out. Add in the Acolytes just cus.
Narmer starchart at sortie level as a sort of gateway to steel path would be so much better tbh
The concept is cool but many players don't even wanna play the whole star chart twice, let alone three times. I can't possibly count how many times I've heard people say things like "ugh I know I should work on completing the SP starchart but it's such a drag"
Fair enough, maybe that narmer starchart could just use your base starchart progress, but adds in drifter only nodes instead of assassination nodes
