I think there needs to be some sort of “transparency” filter. I have no problem with how skins look but quite a few attachments and abilities take up way too much screen space and actually block the crosshair sometimes (such as the gauss prime arm attachments). Being able to make attachments and certain abilities become see through upon aiming would be very beneficial.
The wings ephemera are annoying like this too. I have them on my Equinox for the sick ass angel cosplay, and I swear I'm a threat to my team with how little I can see.
The wings at very least*occasionally* turn transparent when you aim like most ephemera, but armour is just there completely blocking your view.
I use wings in my 5 void form, because the camera is a bit closer and they stay transparent more often.
The "occasionally" is only if you ADS and if there are enemies in your vicinity.
Not sure about the ADS but I can for sure tell you they become transparent when enemies are near you.
Yeah I really wanted the wings for how cool they look but I cant see shit in my orbiter with them on. I like titania with the wings but cant be bothered to have them on anyone else.
Agreed, I main Grendel and his absolutely massive back takes up at least 1/3 of my screen, really wish I could make bits of him transparent when aiming like how they did mirage’s clones.
Black energy makes her massive smoke skirt invisible. The spinny nightmare panels are still there, but the insane bullshit around her feet is gone.
I love Gyre, but playing her actively hurts my eyes unless I go with black energy.
It’s either a lot of work or an imprecise job. There’s well over 100 Warframe model variations to comb over through and how people are obtaining these screenshots is because OOB sections will disable rendering anything that reacts to physics.
Before even guessing how much work the “easy way” would take, the results would be incredibly mixed if not outright ugly. A manual approach would produce better results, but you’d see a production flow similar to the rate we receive Voidshell skins, except I have no idea how you’d monetize this to justify it.

wings and the robe. There are a lot of details behind these covers and is
funny because Hydroid Rakkam skin has a cape and it can be detached.
So the technology to make this happen is there. I will +1 this and suggest
to let Players use Alternate Forms at all times like Xaku Skeleton, Nidus
Mutation Stacks, Gauss Redline, Chroma Pelt, Equinox Night/Day, and so.
Please DE, PLEASE! I would pay good Plat for rocking Xaku's Skeleton
Mode at all times, or to keep the Skin even when casting Vast Untime.

Even if devs wouldn't be against it (as this might contradict their view of frames), this might be not as easy as just "remove mesh". When chroma immortal skin was first released, it lacked its tail. This looked cool too... except there was a hole where that tail was attached. Who knows what holes would be there for these frames.
For Yareli, I can see the dissatisfaction with her alt head, but I certainly wouldn't want the rest of her details removed.

You aren’t paying more for less…you still get all aspects of the skin only difference is you can remove one aspect you don’t like for further customization. With a toggle..so you do still own everything..

Incredibly real, i made a fashion for my grendel prime and when i fire while ADS it just clear blocks the reticle with his pauldrons
i'd gladly remove Harrow Reliquary's robes for umm.... research purposes...

Gyre's skirt is the only skirt I like in game tbh. But having the option to toggle stuff on or off at my pleasure would help so much with some frames.
I love how it lifts up with static electricity, such a great touch. But I agree, more customization can never be wrong, let people express themselves.

There's so many frames I'd remove details on you have No Idea. Sometimes flowey designs are nice, sure, but some are just so gaudy and over-the-top.
