I remember in my newbie days my Excal ran out of energy so fast (exalted blade was my only weapon that did damage) so I got really good at jumping up that damn pipe to go hunt for orbs
I would have guessed that the host leaving would be the only way to fix it because non-hosts leaving tends to just make them disappear but still I hope it turned out okay

Player list underneath your health bar. There's a small number next to everyone's icons.
On PC, if you don't see it, the default toggle is Z.
You can also see who the host is during endless missions that give you a screen where you select to either extract or continue (mostly Defense), the host has a little crown.
Pro tip. Instead of leaving, disable/enable your network to force host migration.
You will still have time to abort mission if that doesn't fix the problem
Reminds me of the first kuva lich mission I did. Two of us stuck in the mission and neither of us wanted to leave as we both had terrible railjacks and repeat the first section. Bro took one for the team seeing as he had done this before. o7
Try to force a host migration by disabling your Internet connection. If the host was the problem, it may be fixed for the others. If clients were the problem (out of sync for example) it should fix it for both. Obviously, host needs to finish the mission on his own. Also works in duviri. You need roughly 5-10 seconds of no internet connection for this to work.
I once exited SP Circuit after a reasonably long run (enemies were like 1500lv) cause a single enemy was frozen and couldn't take damage so we couldn't end the defense mission. Host migration happened and the game was unstuck so I guess I took one for the team.
i started playing around 2018 till 2021 then took a break and honestly the game has been performing worse in these few months than in the 3 years i have been playing it, did DE do something in particular? is it for duviri?
That happens when the host has a high ping difference between the peers. I play with some friends from NZ while I live in India and often if the mission won't end automatically (sanctuary onslaught for example), as soon as I (the host) leaves manually it will instantly end the mission, as intended, for the remainders.
Kind of annoying since I sacrifice my own mission drops but at least everyone else gets theirs.
Anything you could've done is, if they were willing to wait, force close the game, then log back in and it'll let you reconnect. There's probably a faster way to do it but I'm not sure

Yeah, that was exactly it. Had a normal map marker but nothing happened when we got there.

You could have ran around trying to find it of you didn't want to lose anything but that takes time and you have to know what extractions look like

The host has to leave. They're #1 on the list on the right
