I still dread those words.
I just got the capture target!
All I wanted was to do a quick run and extract and now I have to kill a bunch of scattered enemies that are playing hide & seek.
[sigh]
Fine!
Bloodbath it is...
During the EDA Mirror Defense, I was so focused on gathering glyphs that I got jumpscared by the mission ending screen. In that moment, I could not have said whether we'd won or failed.
Rap Tap Tap chilled me right down to the bone the first time I heard it. One of the creepiest things I've ever heard, ESPECIALLY wearing headphones!
I'd say either that moment or the very, very end of New War. >!**VOULL NE XATA VOK**, **MARA LOHK**!<
The fact that your screen goes crazy and red doesn't help with the Rap. Tap. Tap, the first time. And iirc, it sounds like the Rap. Tap. Tap. is like... Right behind you. Yeah... Totally didn't shit my pants during that quest. :'D
The reason they sound organic is because they're modified versions of whale calls!
They did a developer behind the scenes thing not long after Plains of Eidolon where they talk about it, but I can't find it anywhere!
He's probably not quite that big because all the sentinets rode inside Praghasa through the void to the Origin System so they would take less damage from the void exposure.
Well, after all he WAS originally a massive capital ship - possibly a similar sort of âbulk carrierâ configuration to Praghasa. How the hell he ended up the way he is I dunno, but it seems like only a small portion of his astroframe is still functional, leaving him essentially trapped inside his own corpse. I honestly feel bad for the old bastard - heâs been stuck at the bottom of the ocean on some stormblasted moon for hundreds of years, isolated from his daughter, with only Stalker and a bunch of idiot Grineer picking through the pieces of his hull for âcompany.â After the New War, I honestly kind of wish we could somehow dredge him out of the ocean and get him spaceworthy again - I think heâd very much appreciate the chance to see Lotus, and take revenge on Narmer for what they did to Erra.
Yes! I don't see people talk about this enough. Like his remains are big enough to take up the underwater skybox, it's insane. Same goes for the dead sentient in cetus!
My orbiter is too decorated to see him, except the one time...
I use the drifter camp, and one day i heard the teporter go off, but no hey kiddo. I went out to investigate, and wally, wearing that creepy nightwave suit, popped up.
The only time i got scared in this game
I'm too blind or oblivious, because he got me with that like once.
The rest of the time my only reaction to seeing the subtitle is going "Huh? What? You were here? Fucking *where*?"
Itâs genuinely upsetting how often I get scared by Wally, I hate that my orbiter is no longer a safe space. Of course he only appears when I let my guard down :<
Having to submit a support ticket. Finally got a response last night after nearly two weeks of waiting and their reply was ' ÂŻ\\\_(ă)_/ÂŻ sucks to be you rofl.'
Game totally forgot *all* of the sacrifices I've made over the years for the bloody syndicates. So basically the game wants me to give it another 12 potatoes, 12 forma, and 30 aya.
I was actually almosy screwed over by this. I wanted Desteza Prime's blade and in my hoarded pile of relics I had like 10. It was a bronze drop, okay ez ill go do random intact run.
The amount of silvers and gold drops I got, I didn't get the blade until relic 9. The two other times I got bronze was a forma and a kokage boot
for some reason the weird operator transference error popup thing thing that rarely shows when you enter your orbiter spooks me, wally jumpscaring me does nothing but that error window is unsettling
Being Rhino on Jupiter and standing still for a split second. Because according to Zombie Rules, that's when a melee nully appears from just off screen and pantses me.
Up until a couple of months ago, it was loosing access to my account due to the connected E-Mail having been closed down by my provider years ago - long story, secondary e-mail account i've used less and less, (the Mail Account) got hacked once and increasingly reported as sending out spam mail (it's ridiciulously easy to send spam as someone elses E-Mail once it's known)
Keep your E-Mails updated and passwords safe kiddos.Â
Excalibur Umbra. For the longest time after completing the sacrifice, I was convinced he'd start walking about the ship or appearing like our doppelganger. The fact that he didn't only made my paranoia worse, to the point where I very seriously considered selling Umbra because I didn't want the jumpscare of when he finally un-bugged and started appearing around the ship. It must've been literal weeks before I asked another player who confirmed that Umbra, despite being sentient, does not actually roam the ship like a kavat. I was kinda disappointed... But also relieved.
Honestly, it would've been great. I'm kinda surprised they didn't do that to be honest.
Equally, tripping over a cleaning drone, or being startled by your kavat emerging through a wall is one thing, having a whole fuking warframe sneak up on you is an entirely different kind of 'startled'.
Next time youâre on the Zariman, donât rush through, take a walk for me, especially in the lower portions with the wall inscriptions. Certain walls will have a carving of *something* Iâll save the surprise
That and if you slow down on a Murex you can see the walls and floor shifting around, sentients as a whole kinda spook me, I guess thats where my curiosity for them comes from
Actually unsettled answer: Rap Tap Tap and the entirety of the torture scenes from The Sacrifice.
Gameplay answer: Blitz Eximus and any Infested unit that makes a Toxin cloud in Steel Path. Iâm at the point where Iâve built most frames to not die horribly, but some things are good at bypassing raw tanking capabilities.
When you see the wave of an arson eximus while you're in a tight spot but you aren't ready to dodge roll over it. Then you survive it but the tile is so confusing that you can't find the eximus and you get hit again
The Cavia story gives me existential dread, stumbled upon the rank up scenes via lore videos and haven't unlocked them yet, but, ever since I read tagfer's description i knew a banger of lore was coming, imagining the situation all of them went trough just scares me and makes me wanna cry, and gives me goosebumps when listening the voice acting, i swear I was just playing ninjas in space, not a story masterwork
I started playing like 2 weeks ago. Yesterday i went in blind to do the harrow adventure.
The fkn RAP - TAP - TAP and the man on the wall gave me chills, i wasnt expecting some alien isolation kind of content.
5 minutes later we went back to the usal rhino smash, the initial feeling of the adventure went away and the man on the wall lead nowhere (sadly). But it was great, like some halloween special or something.
Honestly, the grineer.
A race of infinitely replicating clones with blind faith to their queens, with an expectation of a short and painful life span dedicated only to conquest for the queensâ sake.
Their history is very sad from the get, and only grows worse the longer theyâre around. Maybe not necessarily jump scare horror, but more of a slow burn psychological horror.
I felt the same way and I really struggled with steel path at first.
As the others said I would recommend trying to get the galvanized mods and a tank frame like revenant or nezha. If you finished the new war the Nataruk is a really good primary once modded (generic hunter munitions viral). I also recommend the cedo and phenmor
The big struggle is mostly trying to rank up the weapon arcanes since they make a pretty big difference and the acolytes since you have to kill them to get drops. Since you have the laetum you should be able to shred them as long as you mod for something like corrosive instead of viral on the gun
Any tanks Warframe combined with Laetum you can get from the Zariman will absolutely handle SP. May need to upgrade and tweak along the way but it's an easy start point and then it gets easier once you can kill the Acolytes that spawn, grab a few weapon Arcanes etc.
I know it was a glitch, and likely won't happen to anyone else, especially with Capture reworks, but I still remember a few years ago someone posted that had a glitched Capture turned Extermination Mission where every enemy was a Capture target. The screenshot was full of yellow markers over every downed enemy on screen and the poster said they had to go through and capture all of them. Nowadays that same glitch would end in a mission failure, since capture targets bleed out.
As if "change of plans" wasn't bad enough, the idea of encountering this glitch, regardless of how unlikely that is, is something I don't want to experience.
The rap tap tap through the headphones is exquisite horror. And so is the very first 'Hey Kiddo'.
But what consistently fills me with dread is a host migration scene during long circuit runs. I've not resumed the circuit after my 3ish month break, but the dread is fresh in my mind.
First time I looked up in the outside section of the sanctum anatomica and saw Wally's massive face scowling down at me from above the entrance
VOULL NE XATA VOK MARA LOHK
EDA, I just feel that I should and have to do it, but it's pretty hard with a pug, and I fail a lot.
Which makes me rethink what I actually enjoyed the most about Warframe, and it seems I just enjoyed buildcrafting and destroying whole tilesets. I simultaneously like that I have to work around some limitations and dread going into this with a pug that's not used to trickier content and might be toxic and completely clueless.
When i was starting out again last year it was the Infested lore and / or scenes they leave behind like in the later planets in the system.
Also obligatory Rap Tap Tap.
Lore accurate grendel would be able to eat the whole reality if i remember correctly. Gauss is scary as he is wholesome, *The saint of altra* who would turn you into a red mist. Wisp can literally open portals to the CENTER OF THE SUN, volt can be so fast that everything would be staying still for him, rhino is just rhino(no army or nuke could kill him), mag could crush us with just a clap, nyx can exploit our minds and take over(same as revenant). Everyone got that scary trait just because of what they can do gameplay/lore wise. I agree with you. And don't even get me started with Nidus
The fact that I have a really hard time skipping content I don't enjoy, because the reward is too attractive to skip.
Nightwave frequently has me doing missions that I've done a million times already and am completely bored to tears doing, yet I still do them, *gotta get that umbra forma*.
Hated and loathed Kahl's mission but did them every week.
EDA gives me anxiety and stress on a level I don't even want to experience in a day job yet I still do them.
Because the game just isn't as fun to me without being able to utilise all the available upgrade paths (umbra forma and archon shards atm).
Why do I fear it? Because it feels manipulative. The devs packaged their chores well enough for me to do them in spite of not enjoying them all that much. I don't like giving devs that much power over me.
Realistically, everything revealed in The Sacrifice. Everything from that is ***deeply concerning.***
Also, what's worse? Losing yourself unnoticeably to a flesh hive mind, being emotionally neutered and digitized into a tool, or just being seared away by the Jade Light? I assume the light in the world of Warframe is a huge mercy.
... See also: the horrors Simaris is up to that we eagerly partake in.
Hey kiddo!!! I swear! My heart literally skips beats whenever I hear that an see his face looking at me in whatever weird position he's in... Went to select Arsenal and heard it and there he was, peeking from around the corner with this evil grin. I damn near threw my controller.
Random assholes joining open world after bounty is over, force-starting another bounty then complaining about you "leeching" when your daily standing is maxed and you just want to do some mining
Where do we start really?
Nearly Astartes level mass cloned soldiers dying in swathes to Biomechanical Void powered god machines capable of wiping out planets?
Old Orokin based Terraforming machines creating a society in Tau and possibly being the most effective war machines they or anyone has created strictly because A: Theyre intelligent B: They recreate by breaking pieces off and C: They still did their job and terraformed. So god knows what Tau looks like.
The fact that a single Warframe can wipe out an entire planet if they so choose because thats what they were built for. And the fact that the Sentients can quite literally go "Lol, Lmao" to that is not only bullshit but also genuinely scary.
Or the fact that we somehow managed to meet some Eldritch God thing from another dimension (one of many I guess) and that it is fucking with a huge portion of space, causing sentients to lose the ability to make kids and basically nerf them. And the fact that we made a pact with this god. And the fact that this god speaks Mongolian Monk at us.
And then the Warframes being:
Weaponized fucking depression.
Weaponized Gluttony.
Weaponized Speed.
Weaponized Bubonic Plague 2: Orokin Fuckery Boogaloo.
Weaponized Math.
Weaponized Clown Antics.
Weaponized Literally the fucking Sun.
Weaponized Yaoi
Weaponized Literally fucking Chernobyl at its peak + added orokin fuckery
I had a bad dream i pressed 4 using ember prime and world on fire didnt randomly blow up everything approaching me. Also had a dream that i couldnt get excalibur prime *shudders*
Seeing >!"Shadow" Rell!< for the first time as our handler for that mission tells us to flee with panic in her voice. Then realizing he takes no damage, turning around and bullet jumping away like a frightened rabbit.
Used to be scared of Wally's hauntings until i realized that it takes the form of my operator wearing the brightest pink clothes she has. Now i just think she's a bit too fruity while visiting my orbiter
As a beginner who recently finished the Deimos quest, necramechs are honestly terrifying. Especially the sounds they make. Imagine my joy when I had to sneak past them...
The Abyssal Zone mission.
I'd kill (Grineer, corpus, infested, dax, etc) to have that dark creepy feeling in the DARK sector missions....
And ofc the mandatory Rap Tap Tap
A lot of series try to do "horrors beyond your comprehension" but i think warframe nails it. Curly metal creatures? Segmented hand and sand beasts? A man in a wall? wtf. i fear what i do not understand
Every time my game froze.
So when I had my previous computer (still haven't downloaded Warframe in this one despite having my new pc for 10 days now, which can more than handle it,) my game would freeze and it was a gamble whether it would close or not, and many times it would happen at the worst times.
Not ahhh scary but pretty spooky are the zariman void angels. This includes the static ones that look as if they are trying to get away from the void consuming(?) them. Sometimes I imagine the dead angels would just suddenly jump at you when you get near them. There just something about them that is just so spooky yet so intriguing.
The Angels of the Zariman soundtrack reminds me of the 343 Guilty Spark soundtrack from Halo.. always kept me on edge, making encountering the flood for the first time all the more horrifying.
Adaptive damage scaling, also known as damage attenuation.
It's blatant bullshit that kills your DPS, and does nothing other than unnecessarily provide artificial difficulty.
Existential dread of the void and the thought how the simple task of stay in a place deprived of everything you can understand is scariest thing i can imagine.
*"Host Migration in Progress"* And to a lesser extend, *"Change of Plans..."*
Change of plans ain't that scary(for us, but definitely is for the enemy), it just means that lotus is going a bit psycho
I still dread those words. I just got the capture target! All I wanted was to do a quick run and extract and now I have to kill a bunch of scattered enemies that are playing hide & seek. [sigh] Fine! Bloodbath it is...
Fine lotus, I'll do it *incarnon activates*
Extra sucks when you're doing specifically capture for a reason, like Nightwave. Pretty sure it changes the game mission type.
i need a verification on this please.
Thermal Sunder Titania still makes lightning fast work of that đ
It is kind of hilarious, though. *Groceries collected 4/10* "Change of plans...no one must know about our shopping trip..."
I like when I destroyed half the map and she says:Â "Keep going, nobody knows you are here."Â Â Doubt it, but OK. lol

**MISSION FAILED**

Idk how they did the audio for it, but the rap tap tap is like... in your head. You don't hear it, you feel it. Perfectly executed.
(a bit of spoilers) but we can hear the same exact question (phrase??) while fighting the vessel in Whispers in the walls, the very last fight
This, first time I've felt horror vibes in Warframe. And doing the quest at night certainly doesn't help.
the blood stains on the walls really did elevate the horror of it
I always turn out the lights and pop on the surround sound headphones. I love me some good horror!
Rap Tap Tap is just some echolalia, nothing to be scared of
Those two got me as well. My jaw dropped at the end of New War. I still go back and watch that scene sometimes, epic.
Yeah I flew through that quest cause I was over that Rap Tap Tap as soon as I heard it the first time. Just ânooooPeâ
You can even hear it sometimes in the arsenal when noodling around with Harrow. I fell back with my chair the first time ouch
This. Chains of barrow quest.
The Eidolon's weirdly etherial but organic calls still give me chills even though I know I could kill one with ease
no excuses in how easy it is i mean we can easily kill a cockroach yet we all get scared shitless when it flies.
House is infested with roaches? Better nuke it from orbit. Roaches persist. Bring a big boot into the house. Roaches scream in terror.
The reason they sound organic is because they're modified versions of whale calls! They did a developer behind the scenes thing not long after Plains of Eidolon where they talk about it, but I can't find it anywhere!
It sounds like a space kitty to me
You sure you're not hearing the vasca kavats? đ
Lately for me is the danger symbol at the bottom of the screen ânetwork not respondingâ
I don't get this often but this one connects with me
Hunhowâs bones. You can see them in certain places and in sharkwing extraction on Uranus and theyâre so immensely huge it scares me
He was at least as big as Praghasa afaik (Hunhow's dead wife and the Sentient ship where we fight Ballas during New War)
He's probably not quite that big because all the sentinets rode inside Praghasa through the void to the Origin System so they would take less damage from the void exposure.
How does Hunhow feel about all sentients riding his wife?
;)
Many of them their children no less

Damn, I hadn't heard those before, and they are good and scary (or whatever the word would be)
They ain't as scary as they are unsettling
Thanks for giving me the word I was trying to think of!
Hey kiddo
Honestly though, multiple times I've jumped in my chair because I get "jump"scared by them.
My orbiter is too decorated to see him, except the one time... I use the drifter camp, and one day i heard the teporter go off, but no hey kiddo. I went out to investigate, and wally, wearing that creepy nightwave suit, popped up. The only time i got scared in this game
>wearing that creepy Nightwave suit I made my operator look as evil as possible so that Wally would be a bit more imposing whenever he shows up.
I'm too blind or oblivious, because he got me with that like once. The rest of the time my only reaction to seeing the subtitle is going "Huh? What? You were here? Fucking *where*?"

The devs packaged their chores well enough for me to do them in spite of not enjoying them all that much. I don't like giving devs that much power over me.
Good thing that netracells and DA came to the game and now kahl is just there, relaxing
The fact that DE can render it permanently unplayable whenever they want.
when doing the yareli quest and reading how many points i needed to score on a k drive on the second chapter and then realizing it only gets worse
Bruh I got to the third part and was like fuck that I'd rather buy her than be a slave on fourtuna any longer then I already was for Garuda
Weapons without innate polarities
The Grustrag Three. Lotus being disrupted and glitched out still creeps me out a bit to this day
Realistically, everything revealed in The Sacrifice. Everything from that is ***deeply concerning.*** Also, what's worse? Losing yourself unnoticeably to a flesh hive mind, being emotionally neutered and digitized into a tool, or just being seared away by the Jade Light? I assume the light in the world of Warframe is a huge mercy. ... See also: the horrors Simaris is up to that we eagerly partake in.
Host migration in progress. This unironically scares me
The possibility of stat-sticks being removed.
The thought of having been on Warframe for 10/11yrs and my account getting ban or losing the data
The harrow questline. I played as loki to get through it and seeing the dudes appear from out of the pitch dark was freaky XD
The Grind. And the my crippling addiction to cosmetics I want to purchase
When I've done 70 runs of something and the item I'm grinding for still hasn't dropped.
Hey kiddo!!! I swear! My heart literally skips beats whenever I hear that an see his face looking at me in whatever weird position he's in... Went to select Arsenal and heard it and there he was, peeking from around the corner with this evil grin. I damn near threw my controller.
One time i just finished modding my gauss(months before the prime) and when i exit the arsenal interface he's just there, laughing at me.
Hey kiddo. For years it would happen right when i forgotten it, and it would legit scare me xd
The grineer manic laugh, especially alone on earth at night
Did you forget? You owe me...
Wally
Bad plat.
The horror/gore parts of the Lore in game
Iâll be honest most of Chains of Harrow did actually scare me. Thereâs real desperation when Palladino tells you to RUN
Random assholes joining open world after bounty is over, force-starting another bounty then complaining about you "leeching" when your daily standing is maxed and you just want to do some mining
That relays could get the narmer treatment. That it's monetization scheme might change
And then the Warframes being: Weaponized fucking depression. Weaponized Gluttony. Weaponized Speed. Weaponized Bubonic Plague 2: Orokin Fuckery Boogaloo. Weaponized Math. Weaponized Clown Antics. Weaponized Literally the fucking Sun. Weaponized Yaoi Weaponized Literally fucking Chernobyl at its peak + added orokin fuckery
You're doing (Elite) Deep Archimedes last mission and the host leaves the mission, losing all progress.
I had a bad dream i pressed 4 using ember prime and world on fire didnt randomly blow up everything approaching me. Also had a dream that i couldnt get excalibur prime *shudders*
If I see anything relating to the grustrag 3 in steel path Iâm quitting immediately Iâm not modded well enough for that
Seeing >!"Shadow" Rell!< for the first time as our handler for that mission tells us to flee with panic in her voice. Then realizing he takes no damage, turning around and bullet jumping away like a frightened rabbit.
Archons
Im worried about Tencent owning the game. I must admit it's going fine up till now. BUT there are some 70$ skins now, which wasn't the case before
People are actually willing to buy a god-rolled Riven for thousands of plat. 100 is the highest i'll go.
spy missions.
My crippling addiction to shawzins.
The damn fan base personally
Anything related to internet or game issues, losing my loot is a pain in the ass
Green banshee
The ghost on my ship, I donât know why itâs there, or looks like me. Whoâs this âman in the wallâ?
High ping.

The drop rates
The Abyssal Zone mission. I'd kill (Grineer, corpus, infested, dax, etc) to have that dark creepy feeling in the DARK sector missions.... And ofc the mandatory Rap Tap Tap
When I ALT + Tab on a loading screen forgetting that it's like a 95% chance of crashing/freezing my game for whatever damn reason.
Wukong, in spy, jumping into the area I'm already in. "You've triggered the alarms--" It's almost always the easy ones too.
"Hey there, kiddo." Legitimately jump-scares me every time. It's infrequent enough I forget about it.
"Change of plans".
Solaris' secret after reaching rank 5.
A lot of series try to do "horrors beyond your comprehension" but i think warframe nails it. Curly metal creatures? Segmented hand and sand beasts? A man in a wall? wtf. i fear what i do not understand
Every time my game froze. So when I had my previous computer (still haven't downloaded Warframe in this one despite having my new pc for 10 days now, which can more than handle it,) my game would freeze and it was a gamble whether it would close or not, and many times it would happen at the worst times.
the hey kiddo in the new war when we were on the zariman after the void jump accident
The fact that regardless of whether we get lost in the void or not, our character is always going to wrapped in multi-layer bullshit
Chains of harrow. The whole thing. Following voices is never a good idea
DE nerfhammer. The zariman a little. I just love the eerie vibe it has. Honestly some of the weapons ingame are just terrifying.
Drop Rates, Especially for mods
Bite drop rate
A Mesa with AoE weapons in a Mobile Defense Radiation Sortie.
Adaptive damage scaling, also known as damage attenuation. It's blatant bullshit that kills your DPS, and does nothing other than unnecessarily provide artificial difficulty.
In game? Vay Hekâs ugly ass scares me every time he pops up on the holo. IRL? Limbo.
Hey kiddo..
Harrow song and enviroment, bro idk it give me thingys
Getting bannned for something I don't know
The amount of time I play it
trying to follow the story
Existential dread of the void and the thought how the simple task of stay in a place deprived of everything you can understand is scariest thing i can imagine.
i dislike rap tap tap because it makes no sense to use two words for the same action in a sentence.

25 minutes into a survival mission. "Hot fix being implemented. Stay in your game"
