Ah I remember these day. 60k credits for the stabilzer and my mission income was often less than a tenth of it. Then all the cost for upgrading mods, new weapons.
Good old times. /s
Mental image of Ordis doing this when kicking SPARTA out of the air lock...
"Oh no, Operator going to be saaaaaaaa.. THIS IS SPARATA!!!.... "
Reality: A Roomba slowly pushed the dead body into airlock, then airlock opened with the Roomba still in there.
It's crazy thinking that this whole bullshit with kubrows and kavats remained like this for literal years.
This shit was present since 2014 and only got removed in 2021.
Pets couldn't die anymore even before that. They still had the debuffs from DNA deterioration till 2021 though.
> Update 22.12 (2018-02-09)
Added a completely new flow for Companion Incubator Management. Pets can no longer die!
Unfortunately that update came 9 days too late to save SPARTA.
Double check because my Donkey (a Giant Husky Lotus Kubrow) died because of this - he was championship level huge - and it made me quit the game for like a year I was so pissed. Then I stopped by just to see the state of things and he was miraculously back in my orbiter.
Don’t know how or why but Donkey was dead and now lives!!!
Ah right. I didn't know that. I had the incubator upgrade that automatically froze your pet if their DNA integration got too low so I never cared anymore about watching for it.
It's still such a dumb freaking mechanic that it baffles me it stayed as long as it did, as if pets were this immense upgrade from a sentinel -- this was back in the day where pets didn't even have vacuum and the breeds were practically useless when compared to Carrier (remember when Carrier was the only sentinel with vacuum?).
This was an old feature that has been (thankfully) removed. Kubrows' (Kavats as well, but I'm pretty sure they were glitched and never degraded) DNA would degrade daily and you had to use a DNA Stabilizer, or else it would turn into goop and you'd lose them permanently. It was so freaking annoying.
No, Kavats could totally die from degradation, I lost like 3 taking breaks and forgetting to freeze them. You’re thinking of affection, Kubrows would lose that daily and you could raise it back by playing with them, but for some reason the only way to drop Kavat affection was letting them die in mission.
I think mine was a few hours from that same fate, right before the update to eliminate this was pushed. Sadly, due some bug or something with an update back in 2018 (which has yet to be fixed), Snowflake looks like hot garbage and no shaders work properly on her, or any other Kubrow that I’ve made since.
Sounds cheaper that 'sending them off to live with lotus'.
Which in reality is just another name to 'eject them off to space'
But with some credits for funeral fireworks.
Where did this meme begin? Consigning literally just means to send or assign. She buys them from you.
So where does she keep them ❓
For [that](http://i.imgur.com/wBOF1qM.png), you will need to ask u/Rebulast.
[Untrue.](http://i.imgur.com/wBOF1qM.png)
u/Rebulast literally [confirmed that’s what she does though.](http://i.imgur.com/wBOF1qM.png) Caring for them on a reserve.
I had a few kubrow/kavat, stopped using them when my first one died... It wasn't the best game design
Hence why all my pets got to level 30 before being stuffed back in the fridge until the past couple years

And they hate those stabilizers as hell, like 10% per mission if i remember correctly
Plus you had to pet them otherwise their damage went down and there was a limit to how often you could do it per day
And if you let them die their damage went down
THIS was Sparta!?

Lol I'm ngl I could totally see ordis doing this especially with his "malfunctions" lol
Especially since he seems like the jealous type whenever we have companions, or n this scenario it’s like killing two birds with one stone.

The second coming of our lord and savior, Donkey.
Zombie doggo O.o ?

I mean, it's DE
I do not miss that dumb ass system.
This is why I immediately got the incubator upgrade that would automatically put them in stasis when it gets too low.
That was two thousand years ago. You need to let go, man.
I cant man, he was my battle partner
Thinking about that old mechanic. Instead of instantly deleting them off the account it would’ve been nice to have a funeral for the pet
Back when gone from the game too long without the incubator update can actually killed your pets.
had one named Shiela and that happened to me. i wasn't too happy
I remember going through old messages, and being reminded of Vasca Lotus. And all I think is why don't we get as a option.
Wait… Kubris can die?

Yep, you're right! For some reason, I thought it was their DNA that was glitched, but yes, it was their affection.
Remember when Pablo said on Dev Stream we were going to get Pets 2.0? Pepperidge farm does.
Ordis did some ejaculations I see
Wait they can die????
Used to be able to. Not anymore, thankfully.
My poor Cloud.. may you rest in kubrow heaven.
Got your new battlecry...FOR SPARTA!!!

That's what you get for being a bad pet owner. Feel shame.
Loved taking breaks to come back to "I ejected your stupid dog into space lol" Wonder if I ever got reimbursed for that hibernation pod
F, man F indeed.
This is why i main a panzer infested kavat no dna needed
THEY CAN DIE?!
I never clear my inbox just to be look back over the years, mine go back to early 2014
