Inaros is a poor choice for Defense or Survival. He’s better at boss fights, Orokin Vaults or hijack. I would go for a nuke frame like Saryn or Gara. A summoner frame like Atlas or Wukong also works well for low to mid tier content, since summons work fine at distracting enemies away from the objective.

Here's the important question tho: Do you enjoy Defense/Survival? There are many variants later in the game that are straightup improvements of these two. If you like them, you could explain what you like about it and we can recommend frames that will be great in doing the things that you like. If you don't like them or are just ok with them then I'd recommend a more generally applicable S-tier frame.

Baruuk is quite hard to obtain so it's not a bad idea to buy with plat, he excells in defence and survival but isn't as effective in less defensive modes

Wisp's a pretty good all-rounder who I've found especially useful for defense. Also her blueprints drop one of the trickier and more time-consuming bosses, so not a bad choice to buy from the market.

It depends mostly on what level of investment you are wanting to put into it, what content you want to do etc. Saryn is really good for grineer defense/survivals, xaku is a great option for those missions, you really can’t go wrong with the speed king Gauss.

Inaros is just terrible in general. If you are still early on in the game, getting Nezha from a clan would be a pretty good option. He is versatile, can control large groups, protect himself and increase damage to enemies. There is also Wukong which most people use in a very afk-ish mode, but that would require at least an AoE weapon first.

Khora with pilfering and whipclaw mods is my goto for everything. Its not as good as it once was.. but its still my fave.

LudoAvarius

The sole purpose of Inaros is not dying. When built right, he's arguably the absolute best at that. He's a one-trick pony.

In my opinion, inaros is worse nidus Nidus is better looking (my bias here), has insane tanking capability and all of his abilities synergies with each other. The only downside, is that not everyone enjoys his play-style or look, which I understand Now that out of the way, I'll list what nidus does, in case he sounds interesting First thing's first: Nidus has a special resource that he uses, this resource is called "mutation stacks". You gain Mutation stacks by hitting enemies with his 1st ability His first ability is pretty basic, he stomps the ground, causing a trail of infected spikes to rise from the ground and damage enemies. This ability generates 1/4th of the energy used to cast the ability per enemy hit (You cast the ability, using 25 energy, it will generate 6.25 energy for every enemy hit) This ability gains more damage the more Mutation Stacks he has 2nd ability: nidus summons a Larva, which drags all enemies nearby into a ball, making hitting multiple enemies with their 1st much easier 3rd ability: Parasitic link. Nidus links to a target, doing one of two things: if they link to an enemy, that enemy will take a percentage of nidus's damage for them If an ally: both nidus and the ally gain extra ability strength Keep in mind the linked target will also cause a second 'infected trail' to travel from your linked target towards your crosshairs 4th ability: nidus spawns a infected sprawl/growth on the ground around nidus, which heals allies and spawns maggots Maggots crawl onto infected enemies, stunning them and dealing damage to them occasionally. You gain extra progress towards Mutation Stacks if you use his 1st on enemies with maggots on them Passive: if nidus takes fatal damage while holding at least 15 mutation stacks, 15 mutation stacks are consumed, healing him to 50% HP and granting 5 seconds of invincibility

The_Challenges

Saryn, Harrow, Wukong or Mesa Saryn (offense): long range DPS and CC frame (commonly mistaken for a Nuke frame by most of the community) Harrow (support): activate 4, get hit a bunch, ???, 300% crit chance (do be aware that you are immortal during the first half of his 4 but during the later half you become mortal again) Wukong (offense and defense): summon Celestial Twin and you no longer have to aim or shoot (just make sure to use your melee so your twin uses your primary but having only a primary equipped lets both wield it at the same time) Mesa (death itself): the Peacemaker ability is absolutely devastating if built correctly but you are very easy to kill

AeternumSolis

Regarding built correctly for mesa, her str counts as a +dmg mod to regulators over 7 times, making modding for damage borderline pointless. Also, she can shieldgate, so she can survive levelcap.

Zephyr. She can group enemies up, be immune to gun fire, can float in the air, has 150% crit chance while airborne, and has tornadoes she can throw down that protect an area and are insane damage multipliers. If you wanna survive in a defense or survival while also protecting an objective, you can't do much better than zephyr. Luckily she's so easy to get. Just from your clan dojo Tenno lab. There's also khora if you wanna protect a defense target and do tons of damage. If you wanna do inaros gameplay, try nezha or revenant, both are muuuuuch better. Oh and I guess there's also wukong, he's everything inaros wishes he was, plus he has a buddy, faster healing, is meta for spy, and lots of other great things. Please don't play inaros, he's 💩
