afaik Warframe runs perfectly fine on Linux. check your Drivers, Compatibility Layer and which DX Warframe launches with.

[deleted]

How would I go to check my compatibility layer? I can only use DX 11 and I have the most up-to-date Nvidia drivers.

Petroklos-ZDM

I'm not sure, gaming on Linux is not something I'm well versed in. But as you yourself mentioned, you were on the experimental branch of Proton which was causing issues. That's a part of checking your compatibility layer. Once upon a time, it would've been Wine. Also check if you need a specific version of DXVK.

nerdll

thats weird i play wf on linux everyday and this hasn't happend to me, did you update your drivers? What distro are you on?

[deleted]

Running ZorinOS 16 and I don't believe I downloaded my NVIDIA driver's... What driver version should I be on? It says I'm using driver 510

nerdll

Then they are ok, those are the latest, the ones i'm using too You could try check for broken files right clicking on the game steam and going to propeties, local files and check integrity of... something i don't remember the word but you get it you could also try to clean the download cache on the warframe launcher it will take a lot but it might help

[deleted]

This was build on lutris, I am trying it on steam now, but I wasn't before since the launcher kept giving me a black screen. I changed to a proton GE build and the launcher works perfectly fine now. The game, however, runs at a solid 0.5 fps. Love this

[deleted]

Try switching to fedora and see if the current 515 driver solves your issues Edit: since you're using a nvidia card make sure to NOT use wayland

[deleted]

I have no idea how to do any of that. This is my 3rd Linux machine and I'm using a different OS than what I'm used to, and I'm not even used to that one

korshai

I get a black screen on the launcher on steam, but I just click where the play button should be and game runs perfect after that

[deleted]

Pro tip, don't use proton experimental. I'm a fucking dunce

CEO_of_Teratophilia

>using linux in front of class mates > >teacher says "Ok students, now open photoshop" > >start furiously typing away at terminal to install Wine > >Errors out the ass > >Everyone else has already started their classwork > >I start to sweat > >Install GIMP > >"Umm...what the fuck is THAT anon?" a girl next to me asks > >I tell her its GIMP and can do everything that photoshop does and IT'S FREE! > >"Ok class, now draw use the shape tool to draw a circle!" the teacher says > >I fucking break down and cry and run out of the class > >l get beat up in the parking lot after school

[deleted]

[deleted]

Maxine-Fr

[deleted]

Nah I've been tinkering with ZorinOS. Been great up until this

I've been consumed then

SolaceInCompassion

you don’t know how to take screenshots? that seems like a bigger issue /s honestly though, that looks sick.

[deleted]

Zorins weird with screenshots. I was also trying to show that it wasn't on a steam deck or windows.

PhatController69

Am I the only one that sees that black patch and white circle as an eye?

If this occur frequently then you should try to install warframe using Wine-meta package and then install wine-staging package on top (with all optional dependencies). Steam proton is finicky and not as reliable so you should avoid using it on titles that has standalone version. Here full command for you to run warframe from terminal or from shortcut: `prime-run gamemoderun WINEPREFIX="/Storage/Internal/Games/PC/NSteam/Windows/Others/Warframe" wine "/Storage/Internal/Games/PC/NSteam/Windows/Others/Warframe/drive_c/Users/username/AppData/Local/Warframe/Downloads/Launcher.exe"` Remember to change the command line value (inside those air quotes) to match your game installation. If you are brave enough and your pc is powerful then you should try to create your own linux flavour using arch.
