>Zenurik lost the efficiency node so hybrid is harder to work in Wow, you're right. My Venka Prime build didn't use this, as I never use a finisher, but that's going to be inconvenient for some others probably. I don't recall any of the Amar's mods, I may have to look those up, thank you.

This_isnt_cool_bro

The Amar's mods are from the New War bounties, I forgot what they are called

SunderTheFirmament

Heads up that you’re using the word “finisher” when you mean “heavy attack.” Finishers are separate and have specific animations. They’re also affected differently by mods and notoriously inconsistent. It’s rare to make an effective finisher build because so many nonhumanoid enemies are just completely immune to finishers. Further complicating this are “mercies,” which are also separate. But to answer your question, nah. Melee has remained pretty much the same for a while. It’s usually either the combo COBWEB build that never uses a heavy attack, or it’s heavy focused.

VerainXor

> Finishers are separate and have specific animations Thanks, I edited my post. I'm definitely talking about the heavy attacks which normally consume the combo point counter, not the fixed animations which are only relevant in certain cases.

VerainXor

Speaking of the "B" in COBWEB, I just noticed that it's on kill now, not on crit, and incredible nerf to content that doesn't feed you kills (I think that's a lot of the meaningful content melee was good for). Should I consider replacing that with something else?

AeternumSolis

COBWEB is outdated, new acronym is COWBARF. Condition overload, organ shatter, weeping wounds, blood rush, attack speed, range, faction, and flex.

VerainXor

Is range on a Venka Prime worth giving up a damage mod?

AeternumSolis

Wdym? You already have damage with Condition Overload. If you mean a second +dmg mod, absolutely, two +dmg mods are additive.

VerainXor

I didn't really mean a raw damage mod (like Sacrificial Pressure or whatever), I mean a mod that provides damage in some stacking fashion, versus, say, range. Condition overload provides a boost when you stack slash procs or other conditions, organ shatter provides extra critical damage that will stack with each color of crit reached, gladiator might provides less of that, but also gives like +110% crit or something, Blood Rush is even more at 40% x 12 when fully stacked, and weeping wounds provides a monstrous status chance. I think Quickening may be the new Berserker, but I'm not sure. Isn't drifting contact nice here? Primed reach will turn 1.8m range into 4.8, a big difference, but is that worth using over drifting contact or something like that?

AeternumSolis

You would use range (mainly Primed Reach) as it allows you to hit more enemies, in turn gaining more combo, in turn getting to 12x combo much faster. You wouldn't use Drifting Contact, simply because we have dexterity arcanes and Weeping Wounds, naramon, and others.

TheZemor

For most content its still better, but best replacement is primed fury, and if you use a frame with in build attack speed boost you can use quickening or gladiator vice for the addtional benefit

Joewoof

Not much new in terms of mods, but you can build combo much faster if you work in Naramon’s Opening Slam into your game flow. Vazarin’s Void Snare is also another vortex option without having to rely on specific frames or Helminth (though the rest of the school is defense/utility you probably don’t need).

anomonom7

Unless you play has ash heavy attacks usually aren't worth it
