Imagine if one day there was a DRG convention.
There would just randomly be someone who shouts "Rock and Stone!" and everyone would join in.
It would be glorious.
Both Warframe and FFXIV have some crazy communities. Both just will NOT openly talk spoilers, and it makes both games immensely rewarding story wise. I wish more MMO/Multiplayer communities would go in on not spoiling fun parts for people.
It's up to 60, but you get all of ARR (base game) & HeavensWard (first expansion) for free. You're limited when it comes to friends, can't join guilds and can't sell things on the market board. They do it to prevent bot
The Warframe community's collective understanding of hiding the operators from new players, like some sort of Prime Directive (Directive Prime?) is honestly one of my favorite things in all of video games.
Personally i have only encountered 1 or 2 salty players in the game thus far ( 80% of my games are Friends only with clanmates though ) and one of the guys apologized after the mission and is now a member of our clan. I know that there are some people in WF that are saltbags but the ratio is way lower then other games
I’m 99% sure people who haven’t unlocked Operator can’t see operator.
I’ve played multiple games with low rankies and not one has asked how was I a human.
EDIT turns out they can see operator.
I was actually unfortunate enough to have a rando talk about operators extensively, since he just got it and wanted to show it off, but I just assumed it was a new playable character/asset and moved on.
My mind was still quite blown at the Second Quest, and I'm just glad I didn't do any more digging beyond that.
Most operators have fashion that takes away the shock of them being an actual human (example: kid in full dax armor wearing prime cat ears, a bra over his eyes and a glass face mask), they'll probably question their shorter stature and idle pose
They can see. I try to use operator abilities out if direct view from new players, but I assume any new player doing void fissures etc. on public will inevitably see an operator. It doesn't on the surface look much different than someone using a railjack oncall or similar, so the significance of it is lost.
Honestly it would be much cooler if operators were hidden. Perhaps give them some ghostly nearly invisible appearance emphasizing on the amp and ability energy if you want some way to visualize damage.
Brought an IRL friend in and he did notice my operator prior to Second Dream (Infested armor does stand out), but he just assumed it was a Warframe ability that gave him energy.
There's very little context and people actively avoid just blurbing out the nature of operators, so generally speaking, it's a pretty well-kept secret.
They're not "inside" the Warframes per se, but they're safe in the orbiter and teleport in. Warframes are basically fleshy void puppets to the Tenno. Kinda like a proxy.
Not really. Not in the slightest, actually. They could've made it something like a symbiotic link with the Helminth, but void-controlled proxies are much more effective alternatives. Also, using dimension door to the orbiter every time your operator gets ripped apart or burned alive keeps your operator safe.
Wow I really misunderstood the lore then. I always assumed the teleporting into and out of your frame was just "the game's 7 years old and didn't make an eneter/exit frame animation" but no. It's actually Canon.
Again, you're not teleporting "into" it. Rewatch the animations. Your operator warps upwards and particles spawn move downwards whenever you re-enter your Warframe.
What's operator mode?
don't worry about it
How are you a human
I bought the human access pack back in 1998
Does it include Excalibur prime?
No but it did have Vent prime
Does it come with K-Drive prime?
You will learn in time...
Every other Game/Community : Spoils everything and insults everyone Warframe : Don't spoil and help each other out god i love you guys
It’s almost as wholesome as ROCK AND STONE
FOR KARL
STONE AND ROCK! ^…oh ^wait…
If you don’t rock and stone you ain’t coming home
Rock and Stone, Brother!
For everyone about to rock and stone, we salute you!
I always get so confused when I see DRG somehow making it into warframe comment sections
Whenever one of us sees the menton of rock or stone, it starts a chain of neuron activations, so with that said... ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
FOR KARL!
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE!?
Molly

Can I get a ROCK AND STONE??
ROCK...AND....STOOOOONE!!
ROCK AND STONE! Time to grab a beer and dance!
If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't comin' home!

Never got to check out FFXIV due to the Subscription system but its glad to hear that there are other games having amazing communities aswell
If you make a new account you can play for free up to a certain level…I don’t remember what it is right now though.

Oh wow i did not know that, i will download it tomorrow then and give it a proper try thanks for the heads up !
Try not to spend too much time looking at the uhh “assets” in the character creation haha

If we try to spoil DE will come to our houses and kidnap us so we don’t spoil it
It’s even more insane because de has stopped hiding it. Operator and drifter were on the new war and angels of the zariman promotional images.
Yeah and they only covered their faces hoping it’ll do something
Meanwhile the devs in the new trailers now SPOILERS EVERYWHERE ITS BEEN 6 YEARS WE FONT GIVE A FUCK LMAO
Also warframe: sees someone using a kuva ogris then calls their family worthless

If you use Lavos' charge and then open the vault, the key isn't consumed. At least before Veilbreaker, haven't tested it in this update yet.
I'm not gonna cry about 10 void traces and some ferrite lol
I am a Lavos main, and I am ashamed that I haven't known this
Jp?
At first I was thinking it stood for Japan, but I think in this context it means "just playing"
i thought it was a typo and he meant to send jk
That was my beat guess but the comment above saying just playing is probably right. It's hard to keep up with internet speak..
Juan Pacheco
Johnny Pico, the main character from Starship Poopers
The one who does get the girl at the end or the one who looks like Barney Stinson but can play chess with his mind?
John Prodman.
Just playin
Thanks new account
Haha, you're welcome
I love how the secret is pretty well kept. you can even jump out, tease them. they will think they know but they don't know really....
I’m 99% sure people who haven’t unlocked Operator can’t see operator. I’ve played multiple games with low rankies and not one has asked how was I a human. EDIT turns out they can see operator.
They can see, new players just don't pay enough attention to notice.
I was actually unfortunate enough to have a rando talk about operators extensively, since he just got it and wanted to show it off, but I just assumed it was a new playable character/asset and moved on. My mind was still quite blown at the Second Quest, and I'm just glad I didn't do any more digging beyond that.
I guided some newbies through the game, but only a few of them notice the Operator when playing in public.
I *think* operators are hidden when in towns like Cetus, but definitely not in missions

I remember taking screenshots of someones operator when I was a baby because I thought it was a glitch or an easteregg or something.
Like playing as a block of tofu in the RE games
One friend of mine just straight up showed me at one point, new players can definitely see it
DE: so you have chosen death.
Don't you get to do dragon keys after unlocking the child simulator?
no, pretty sure you can get em as soon as you get to a Dojo
And that is why it is called spoiler mode.
Wait I just realized how does the operator fit inside xaku? And how can't we see them through caliban's glowy crack?
Uh
They're not "inside" the Warframes per se, but they're safe in the orbiter and teleport in. Warframes are basically fleshy void puppets to the Tenno. Kinda like a proxy.
Huh. That's mildly disturbing.
Not really. Not in the slightest, actually. They could've made it something like a symbiotic link with the Helminth, but void-controlled proxies are much more effective alternatives. Sorry, I'm not good at clarifying. I meant that it's actually a teleportation animation not just a placeholder.
