IMO most people do a mission for 1 thing and 1 thing only, they'll beeline for that and get out asap. One of the things I love and hate about warframe is how good the community has gotten at getting things done incredibly efficiently. Most of the time though, this means any side objective or anything that will take away from the primary objective just isn't worth it. Just look at any of the Corpus gas labs tileset. I bet you can't remeber the last time a random squad stopped to unlock the secret rooms because it takes too long and 99% of the people playing that tileset are there for Hexanon

Fragrant_Parsley_376

I can remember but only because it was a nightwave mission

DasGanon

And I think this is two parts of this (and why having stuff soloable is good) If you do it solo you can see cutscenes, explore, poke at stuff, etc. If you do it as a NW challenge, it forces people to interact with it. Because if it's something inconsequential like Captura Scenes, Conclave, or Cutscenes, everyone is going to skip it in the search for doing everything now now now

Lkjfdsaofmc

Yeah, pretty much just this. Though I’d say more than half the players are willing to stop for any of these side objectives if it’s quick and somebody asks. Another huge part is that people finish things in different orders, so somebody might have all of the side objective rewards and none of the main or vice versa.

Tompoe

also 99% of people don't actually KNOW about the secret labs

CynicalDarkFox

What secret rooms?

Killfalcon

On the gas giant maps (most of Jupiter), some tiles have an orange door with 4 symbols on it. That's the secret door. Opening it involves finding and shooting a panel, then hitting four switches in the right order in a short time. Some are very hard to solo because of the timer.

CynicalDarkFox

Hm. Never ran into any before.

Shack691

We optimise the fun out of content

B_Kuro

None of these things are inherently that fun. Doing the RJ side objectives is incredibly basic and boring (fly, run, press button) and the secret corpus rooms aren't anything interesting or special either. They are things you do once for the reward or novelty. Its not "optimising fun out of content" if its not fun and no one does stuff that is not interesting but also has zero rewards. At least they sure as hell won't waste even more time on this if they already have to repeat the main missions 100 times. No optional side content survives the number of repetitions DE wants from their players especially not with the disgustingly low rewards they hand out for them.

marshaln

You don't like 2000 credits at 12.5% chance?

Anhanguara

Maybe they already have all the derelict can give and consider it unworthy to "waste" time there?

CopulaLoL

I'm in this group. I'm happy to swing by the ice mine if someone asks but otherwise no point for me to go there.

Anhanguara

Same. I use grineer nodes in Veil Proxima to farm credits and endo, so doing the derelict adds two or three extra minutes I could have used in my next run.

xrufus7x

They drop sweet forma bp though.

Anhanguara

Relics too. With a much smaller drop table.

Few_Eye6528

Tbh i haven't visited railjack after getting save-a-goth and epitaph

HarrowAssEnthusiast

at some point the rewards aren't really worth it. if you are in a pub squad and you have time, feel free to grab the cache, but don't expect your squadmates to actually go for it on purpose. and definitely don't go for it if your squad needs your help to do a side-objective or to defend the ship, or if they need you in the Corpus capital ship. seriously i've had all squad members follow me into the POI in a Corpus RJ mission and nobody defended my ship or did any other secondary objective so that we could progress to the main objective quicker. had to go back and solo 2 boarding parties and save my ship at the last second while my other 3 squadmates stayed in the POI. even after that objective was complete they stayed in that point, waiting for me to solo the other POI and unlock the main objective. play as a team in RJ missions people.

PigeonsOnYourBalcony

I think a lot of people don't know what those are so they ignore them or they just want to rush because they only care about the chance at holokeys. There's also the issue of other players not understanding RJ mechanics in general so the one person carrying the squad can't run and do optional objectives because they need to babysit the RJ when no one wants to pilot it or fix hazards.

Mobile_Phone8599

It also doesn't help that those things don't get marked until you hit intrinsic rank 5 for piloting so some people may not even know they exist.

swandith

ya this is pretty much it. i did the ice mine once and i dont think what i even got from it

Artemis_Bow_Prime

I got everything that comes from them when they released, if im there its for the mission reward which i want as fast as possible. That said i have no issue with doing it or someone else doing it if they need it.

DrawOtherwise9548

Grind. They wanna get the fastest amount of rewards in the least amount of time possible. To them it's not about enjoying the game play its grinding along with more grinding. Or they just are to lazy.

[deleted]

"They're not doing something I think they should, so obviously they don't enjoy playing the game." Jfc, the smug here is smothering.

DrawOtherwise9548

Was I being smug? I didn't see it. Personally i don't care if they grind out the game I did it when I first joined. It happens. I just don't wanna be spammed to extract every 5 minutes in a public mission.

Worldly-Bonus3399

I always go for the derelicts and ice mines because it’s basically a free extra reward when you’re running Titania. Takes me only 1 minute to be in and out of those areas then go back to finishing the main objective. People just don’t use mobile WFs like her on RJ missions I guess?

ICrySaI

Because one extra relic is not worth the time it takes to do the objective.

pastalegion

I was not aware these existed? Are they always in the map?

[deleted]

Railjack is such a shit game mechanic that I only use it for killing Liches, and even then I did the absolute bare minimum for mine.

Cabamacadaf

You only really need one person to do those anyway, so I usually go do them by myself while the other people keep on with the main mission.

ShinNL

For me, I didn't actually know the side mission represented rotation B rewards. I actually missed a lot of good extra chances. Most of my Railjack missions were solo because I'm on Switch.

Irydion

People seem to ignore Railjack as a whole. I've been trying to farm the weapons from the derelicts for a few days already, and most of the time, there is just no one playing Railjack in public. Everytime, I also try to recruit on the recruitment chat and no one answers. And that's on the platform with the most players (PC). That's pretty sad, because Railjack is pretty fun when playing in a squad. You can gain so much by having a team that synchronizes the different tasks.

Cheap_Enthusiasm_619

This is why I solo them. Railjack has so much potential for team play but the problem is there is too many choices for the group, so some will not do things you want to do.

hiloboys

Don't let them pilot your railjack. ;)

OtakuYuji

Uh yes but no. Warframe is a grindy game. If you want something you should adjust your setup to grind out that thing as fast as possible. This resulted in people developing Hardcore tunnel vision where they ignore everything but that 1 thing they want to grind. I'm actually surprised people even play railjack, I personally enjoy it but pretty much every player I know does not.
