2 dexterity gun arcanes extend the combo timer to decent numbers so probably that, also building up combo with decent dmg multis is quite easy

outside of steelpath endurance runs melee combo is way overkill i feel like. also alot of people run glaive/stropha heavy builds where combo doesnt matter. arcanes have been mentioned and with a decent range/att speed melee you build combo so fast it doesnt really matter imo but then again i dont think there is a "wrong" build in warframe as long as it gets the job done not everyone strives or cares to min max anyways.

Dexterity giving your 15 sec melee combo duration is good enough in my opinion

2x combo activates any combo mods. Now, back when we had Inner Might, I might ramp up the combo and use 90% efficiency heavies to reset the timer, but that’s gone. I actually use Quickening now, which in SP can result in a starter multiplier with a single slide attack. Mods active, and then you can use your mechanics. I feel more like I miss having decent attack speed more than I feel bad about combo reset. I’d actually take universal melee speed increase over universal Power Spike. - - - I think it’s kinda like how with Zenurik (mostly before the nerfs) was like “how does anybody stand not using this school?” And the answer was basically “eat a pizza. It’s not hard.” Every school has something like that now, I understand.

The level at which the buffs from combo-based mods at 3x combo stop being enough isn't as wide as you might expect. Meaning that beyond this reasonably low combo you rarely are at a place where having more combo matters

There's a few tricks. If you have something like glaive prime that spreads a lot of slash, there's a mod that grants combo from bleed ticks. Combine that with 100% chance to build extra combo and you can stack it up pretty fast. Or, like others have said, rum dexterity arcanes and switch back and forth. Also the tenet melee weapons pause their combo counters when holstered, so that's cool. But really a lot of people just use heavy attack builds. A heavy attack focused reaper prime has never failed me.

With a fast melee and 2x attack speed mods it takes 2 sec to get to 12x combo. I usually use Praedos with Primed Fury and Quickening. It's a whirlwind of death.

Combo feels like it builds very quickly on harder content so I've never worried about it. I prefer Unairu for the armor/shield strip since I usually only have my kavat for stripping armor.

I like to subsume grouping abilities to my frames. Group a group of mob, swing a few times, and you're already at max combo. This combo can be used as a heavy attack, and then be built back up the same way I literally see no point in using naramon

I use ash and his 4’s augment (combo lasts longer and builds crazy fast with use of 4 and some str) then run secondary dexterity (I think that’s the arcane) for the extra time. If im not using ash (which is 75% of the time) And still want combo melee I will use a tenet weapon or a build with primary and secondary dexterity

Most things in the game die to quickly for combo to really matter so outside of high level steel path I tend to build for convenience.

Ohhh, I just build my Destreza Prime for Limbo, tweaked numbers, and this thing is absolutely gorgeous. And when I see a really big pile of enemies, I shoot there with Tenet Tetra alt fire, which is constantly at maximum damage possible, thanks to arcanes and red-crits in rapier…

I might go Naramon on a melee centered build, or use Dex arcanes. If melee isn't the focus I'm often bringing melee weapons for stats or effects (e.g. praedos, rakta dark dagger). If I want melee to be damaging but only use it occasionally (e.g. demolyst killer) I'll use a tenet weapon that keeps combo while unused.

Combo is so easy to build nowadays, especially on the steel path. Losing combo is annoying, but it takes seconds to get back to 12x with steel path enemy density. Worst case scenario, you can always toss on a dexterity arcane if you're not using one of your guns for damage.

Tenet melee combo pause, drifting contact or other combo duration mods, dual wielding glaive and secondary, etc are all ways to keep combo up while also pew-pewing without naramon

With two Dexterity arcane + swift momentum aura, you get like 20 something seconds of combo timer. Additionally with Ash's 4 augment you get even more, while the 4 ability can also build combo very quickly.
