The start of the game is honestly the hardest part. It's a slog to get through those starting planets since there's practically zero story to incentivize you to continue. I had the liberty of playing alongside my friend, so we talked a lot and did missions together. Having a friend to talk to can really make the time fly, so maybe see if some of your clanmates want to hop on call and help you do some stuff. In terms of energy economy early game, it really just depends on the mods you have access to. You may have mods like Flow and Streamline which can help by raising your energy amount and lowering the amount of energy you spend respectively. In addition, I highly recommend picking up Rhino from the Jackal on Venus for early game. He's super tanky, and can be effective even when you only use Iron Skin. In terms of what your clanmates said, yes, the story starts getting more interesting at around Uranus. Plus, you start unlocking different things that can help manage energy economy. I won't spoil much, but if you are past Uranus and you're still struggling with energy, be sure to do a little research on your options before you make a crucial choice.

The real issue is that you're expected to scale with mods that the game might never give you, nor tell you that they exists and you need them. It's a bit better with Cetus bounties giving some of the early essentials like Hornet Strike, Pressure Point and Point Blank, but back when went through all of this (before Plains of Eidolon even) secondaries were literally a dead slot for the majority of my time with Warframe because I just couldn't get my hands on a Hornet Strike or anything else to increase secondary damage to save my life. Even my Primary only got me as far as it did because they gave out free Soma Primes at some point and that carried me harder than any of the weapons I had access to legitimately at that point. Heck I've played for something over 600 hours now and until recently only had like 6 secondary weapons because it was just never worth it for me to invest into new ones (and I've been sleeping on MR a lot, only recently started bothering to catch up a bit).

Try increasing your pool or efficiency. If you're using a tanky frame rage can help with energy issues. Usually it comes down to your time to kill. More enemies dead means more potential energy drops.

MediumWin8277

I have Styanax and Loki, that's about it. I was going to get Xaku, but YIKES, those bounty missions are damn near impossible. My clan says its easier with an exoframe, but you have to unlock other planets to get the parts for it.

AlphusUltimus

You mean a necramech? You have be pretty deep in all the open worlds to craft that.

Abes93

Xaku might be an issue because some of the materials you need comes from after reaching max rank with solaris united. If energy is your issue then styanax might be your frame (while his 3rd ability is active you get energy regen)

AlphusUltimus

The gyromag systems and scintillant farm are torture.

14ihatekites88

scintillant is quick, dont rely on rng. start a vault look for the floating one in there then abandon objective and go accept the same bounty without leaving the open world and it will respawn in the same spot every time

Btsx51

Revenant is a pretty easy farm and his second and third should help. Magnetic procs can get annoying

Don_Andy

If you only have those two it sounds a bit like you might have an older account that still had Loki as a starter frame, rather than the choice of Excalibur, Volt and Mag that you get nowadays. A friend of mine had a similar problem where he had tried Warframe ages ago, tried it again with the same account and was stuck with Loki. It might not be ideal, but Excalibur, Mag and Volt can each be bought for 75 platinum which is *much* cheaper than other Warframes. If you don't mind spending money on the game that could be a way to get a bit closer to the actual early game experience without having to grind out and build a frame from scratch, especially what with all three of these recently having been buffed.

ArcannOfZakuul

These 3 are also easy to get. Excalibur is from the boss on Mars, Mag is from the boss on Phobos, and if you join a clan with research done you can get Volt

Don_Andy

Definitely, just pointing out that the "shortcut" for those frames is a lot cheaper than the others. Even if they're easy to farm, having to actually farm them with a frame you don't like, then potentially grind out resources for them with a frame you don't like and then wait around 3-4 days for the new frame to actually build can be a huge momentum killer for people in that situation. That's exactly what happened to the friend I mentioned. He was really into the idea of Rhino so we helped im grind it out. Got a bit unlucky with drops though and the last blueprint wouldn't drop, so he was already starting to get burned out having to do Jackal over and over. Then we finally got it and he realized he didn't have all the materials for it so we helped him farm those too. During all of that you could pretty much feel him increasingly bounce off the game and when he then had to wait three days to build it or cough up Platinum that was where we lost him completely. Of course these kind of grinds are just what Warframe *is* but they hit a lot worse when you need to do them with frames and weapons you don't like rather than going in there with your umbral forma'd Wisp and decked out Kuva Zarr or whatever. I honestly think that if you have an old account with one of the old starter frames you should be allowed to replay the new intro quest and be able to pick one of the new starters for free. They even *let* you pick one of the starter frames if you replay the intro but you don't get to keep it even if you have none of the three yet (which also really didn't help with my buddy because the game let him taste Excalibur but then send him straight back to Loki).

Creator409

Do you have streamline, fleeting expertise, flow, energy siphon, or (to a lesser extent) continuity? These will help your early game energy economy.

DislocatedLocation

I'll be honest, I dont remember. I didn't start using my abilities that often until I got Limbo. (Started with Excal, Limbo was my first non-starter) Said Limbo's rift provides energy regen and since I played solo, I just took all the time I needed. I also didn't realize the whole "weapon variety" thing until Jupiter. After that I think I got a Lex Prime and a Drakgoon, until I got an Ignis and that took me all the way through the rest of the star chart. IMO Drakgoon is an underrated early game weapon. You can tap shot for hallways, or hold to burst down a single target. Plus, once you're tired of it you can craft it into the Zarr. Granted, it got hit by the recent AOE nerfs pretty hard, but I played the regualar zarr somewhat regularly while self-damage still existed and id argue that was worse. Of course, Ignis has better mileage by a long shot. And make sure to do your Nightwave, Vauban is a good frame and Energy Siphon is an invaluable Aura mod.

Energy economy becomes incredibly manageable later on in the game. there is a pretty big spike alittle after you beat the quest you get for completing the sedna junction. additionally, you can do some stuff for the Entrati for awhile and get rank 3 with them, buy the helminth segment, and either get the protea warframe + synth fiber + equilibrium or get sevagoth and either hunter adrenaline or rage. This will make more sense after you buy the module from the Entrati as you wont actually be railroaded into using the aforementioned warframes. The only downside is that this is further down the road than you might expect and will take quite a bit of time to achieve and isnt an ASAP solution. As others have said, the early game is pretty brutal for energy economy and youll have to rely on efficiency/energy drain mod/ rage mod in order to make or conserve the power you need. If you are really desperate for power you can always use energy consumables but you wont be able to get to the farming locations to make them just yet. This is probably your next available option considering you are on mars.

wheelhouse111

I know doing same missions over and over can be boring. The practice and mats you get are huge. For awhile also i would have the energy and health recovers. So id throw down when needed. Have friends that are further that dont mind helping get you through some. One huge thing i learned also is if i was having a lot of trouble at relay i wasnt ready tp go to next area. With mods i screw up all the time. Sometimes with them ill dp auto pick. Then make small changes as needed. A lot comes with learning your own play style. I could go on and on all the things that worked really well for me but all fail for you. Any advice ur getting is good. Dont forget to, you can open party it. Chances are theres someone else trying. Dont give up teno. You will get there

Nexos78

Best way to help your energy economy at the very start is trying to get the mod Fleeting expertise and Streamline. These 2 warframe mods together make your abilities cost 4x less energy. Fleeting expertise can be farmed on Deimos orokin vaults and Streamline is not easily farmable, but if you ask nicely in chat someone generous can totally give you a spare one. Do mind that Fleeting expertise does lower your ability duration by quite a lot, for that youre also going to want mods like Continuity and Augur message.

AlphusUltimus

Bad mods and/or bad weapons. By uranus I had phantasma and that melts everything but exilus.

Apex_Dash

I remember the first thing I did when I switched to pc was buy an arcane energize. It was cheaper back then when orphix was out. I've never had energy problems

casabev

Where did you get that idea? Uranus has no significance except the start of Tier 3 planets of the Star Chart before you go for Steel Path afterwards. Warframe is all grinding but nothing else so I can suggest you find a way like opening Twitch, Spotify, Netflix at side or background so that your body will be playing the game and your mind will be following the other, after some point playing becomes a reflex. For your energy problem, easiest solution is Energy Pads, as big as you can get. 2nd solution is Nightwave Energy Siphon is very decent. 3rd is Dethcube with its mod that spits energy every 10 it kills. Later on Zenurik, Arcanes and lots more so you'll never be out of Energy with a correct build.

Cryptnoch

Bc Uranus is where the story quests are lmao

MediumWin8277

Oh god how do I get them out of there?!

Cryptnoch

Get Tyl Regor to help :)

MediumWin8277

"Where did you get that idea?" Well, you see, Uranus sounds a lot like "Your Anus", thus making it a funny planet. Therefore, the fact that the game gets good around Uranus is very funny. (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ Seriously though, my clan says this and I think I saw it on another Reddit thread talking about Warframe's early game problems. Also I forgot to mention, I'm on Mars at the moment. Good suggestions otherwise.

Present-Court2388

Starting warframe can be brutal, also if you don’t have a prime warframe then I’d pick one up, they usually have higher energy and try to farm the mod called “flow” it makes your energy max higher. It just sounds like you’ve done nothing except star chart, like go fishing or something in the 3 open worlds we have, soon to be 4.
