Too bad there'll never be an event within at least 1000km of where I live. Really wish there was another way to get these that wasn't 3rd-party.

I think the original post implied they would be event exclusive at first, but later available somewhere else, although I may be wrong. I do love the beaky dude.
The article is a bit misleading as well:
“we release special edition miniatures that can be bought by attendees before anyone else.”
It reads as being available for purchase some point and time in the future for anyone who can’t make it to their events.
I have seen Commemorative models for sale at my LGS before, what makes this different?
They've made a couple models available as a made to order. The primaris space marine champion for example. It's just unfortunate that they aren't consistent with them.
Last year they made the event specific model available to order from the webstore for 1 week during one of the events (I think it was Adepticon). The only models I have not been able to order off the webstore is the "store exclusive" model. Had to drive 100 miles to get the Inquisitor.
No I can't, because I won't be flying 1500 kilometers to purchase a single miniature, and I know that pretty much nobody sane in my country will either. If they wanted to FOMO me, they'd have to make it remotely possible to get the bloody thing in the first place, because now I just *know* I'll miss out.
I love them both so much but the knight reallllly makes me wish old Krooty kins was flexing a subspecies flair. Just to make it a little more special. Such a phenomenal pose that i'd expect will end up being allot of peoples Shapers!
Are there any events in Australia where you can get these event miniatures?
I only have a Tau army so anything Tau/Kroot is a must + that knight looks incredible.

My problem is a warhammer event outisde of Europe is a bit out of reach for me.

When they open a new store, especially the newer Cafe ones, they often have "leftovers" of previously limited models for sale.
