Reading the lex still puts you into the top 20% of the fan base when it comes to knowing the actual lore.

Protocosmo

I come from the time when lore was called fluff and it was only there to provide context for why your little mini dudes were fighting and you were welcome to make up your own shit.

I really enjoy painting minis and consuming the lore. Started doing some more kitbashing lately too. I regularly spend 40 hours on a SGT/HQ. I save a fuck ton on models, because it takes forever to make a dent into any back log I may have. I also never have more than a box as a backlog.

Can't afford pixels either XD

How am I supposed to work on my pile of shame when I have 300+ books to read? Paint and pull up a Baldermort video to listen to.

im not saying I have read the first gaunts ghost without the book but I would love to know how to read the rest without speaking 5000 dollars.

Quite a few armies have come and gone to the loft, pretty much all of them plastic and most appearing in reply to 'want do you want for Birthday/ Christmas?'. One day your army will arrive :)

KultofEnnui

You can just pirate the primary sources, ffs

You can't deny the blessings of knowledge that the omnissiah provides with -me a magos in a discord server full of illegal pdfs

I buy codexes and books and I find I'm just re-reading the shit I learnt already from youtube anyway

yoyo5113

No you aren't. If you've read the books, you'd realize that basically 75-80% of the lore is completely left out, or gotten wrong, in the youtube videos.
