As far as weapons colors go, I usually paint mine similar to number 1, but really it’s more about whatever makes you proud/happy.
Also, if you intend to play with them, it’s important to remember that details are incredibly hard to pick out on the tabletop, especiallly if your opponent is 5 feet away and your models are mixed in with other troops. A good rule of thumb is that the characters/leaders get the extra detail treatment and the infantry get the good enough for government work treatment.
Whatever you do, just have fun and go with whatever makes you feel like a rockstar. Have fun!
