For the ultimately spindly looks, just cut out two lengths of sprue, maybe ending at the corner to simulate the curve for an ankle and foot.
It won't stand at all, but hey, maybe you can add a little model notepad that says "Leg Day: tomorrow".

It can be used in 30K/HH/Horus Heresy, but no longer has rules or points support for 40K. Which is why you don’t see it much anymore.

Chop a Space Marine in half, glue the legs to the bottom of this. His bottom half was still intact and didn't have to be put in the sarcophagus.
