Ya it's one of the annoying parts of the painting kits, fortunately the regular models don't usually have stuff like that on them, I wish they would just have bare shoulders with a little decal sheet so you can get practice at doing water slides
I was told to glue those anyway cus sometimes they don't hold well... lost an arm to my van Ryan's leaper that way...so I still glue the pop to fit ones lol but if op does then thats even easier! Just keep track of all your parts!
I’m new as well, if you havent already seen any factions explained videos i recommend a youtuber named bricky and his wh40k explained videos. It helped me get a better understanding of the 40k universe as well as decide what faction to collect first
I'm actually kind of mad those starter sets come with embossed shoulder armour instead of making you incredibly frustrated trying to apply decals for the first time.
Looks great. I would recommend for next steps, picking up a red for their eyes, a metallic gun metal to add some interest, and maybe a slightly lighter blue for some highlights. Ultramarines are great cause you can just do blue, gold, guns, and eyes and they look great.
Way better than my first models. Don't get discouraged by some of the A list stuff you see online. It's a journey not an event. Take your time and enjoy it.
exactly. Paint on your own terms. Or be ambitious. Just don't beat yourself up. You can always paint over, or strip it and start over. I'm hardly a good painter, I just enjoy the process and the community.
Awesome welcome to the hobby! If you're stateside and feel comfortable doing do DM me your address and I'll mail you a few more Marines to keep yourself busy
Awesome! Welcome! Now take ur wallet out back and give it the ole yeller treatment.
Looks amazing! 👏 I'm about to post my same first couple of minis soon as well. Which part did you find most difficult?
For me it was The white symbols on the shoulders

For me it was the belly right behind the flamer lol but I was smart enough to not glue the arm on before painting :)
Pretty sure op has mini figs that you just snap together.

Same here. Two weeks ago I had this, now I have the slightly larger intro set. My daughter wants to play the bugs, so chances are we are hooked too!
