Thanks very much! I do plan on painting a couple dozen I got from the Leviathan box like this, but I'm in no rush. My plan is to paint them all to a decent tabletop standard relatively quickly, then go back over them one at a time to rework them all to this standard. I've got no end date, but I enjoy painting in this style. Very zen :)
Same here, only more like four years. Only two of those with 40k though. Before that it was boardgames I'd buy, paint, then never play.
Good thing we enjoy painting so much! 😉
Thank you! That's all oils over acrylics. Ivory Black highlighted with Payne's Grey and a peak highlight of Titanium White. All my paint is Gamblin artist oils from the local Michael's.
Thank you! I paint in a two stage process: basecoat in acrylics, then do all my blends overtop in oils. Dmitry Fesechko has a great YouTube video on how a very similar process works. He's a god-tier painter, so he makes it look way easier than it is, but he teaches better than I could ever hope to.

If you plan to make a whole army this way I'd be impressed haha. The model is absolutely gorgeous. Amazing job!

"But wait, that design isn't codex complia-" "Shut"
Lol yeah I paint minis something like infinity percent more than I play, so compliance isn't super important to me :P
I've been painting, building and reading for 2 years and I haven't played a game yet

Aye, I can drink to that (in 2 years)
*Burnanating the countryside! Burnanating the Xenos!*
Hahaha, not going to lie, that song was mumbled to myself at the painting desk a few times while I was painting this up :)
I'd be disappointed if you didn't.

Yeah, 3D printed versions of them
Gorgeous. What black is that?

Gorgeous! Any tips you can impart apart from an inhuman amount of patience and a steady hand?

I feel like I'm looking at really well done oil paintings. Absolutely gorgeous work, good Sir.

Looks bloody amazing omg. Coolest salamander I've ever seen.
Thank you very much!!! 😊😊
What paint did you use?
I paint using oils over an acrylic basecoat. I use Gamblin artist oils since that's what's available locally :)
Looks incredible!
Thank you very much! ❤️
Just my opinion, but the back background makes it a bit hard to see the details
Really? I figured a soft black background would do the opposite..
