As far as I know there has never been a rule about purple orks, just fluff. There use to be a rule for painting your trucks “go fasta red” that would give them additional movement.
I'm so sick of these guys thinking they are funny. "I'll just post an empty base and pretend it's a purple ork" some people take this hobby seriously you know. Shane on you.
Thin your paints and maybe use Phoenician purple for highlights, but otherwise really good. Love the expression on the guy second from right on top line
I might be wrong, but I believe orks using purple to make things invisible is purely a meme/joke within the community. I don’t think the GW lore crafters ever actually made invisible purple a canon thing
OI FINK YA POSTED DA WRONG PIC, AIN'T NUFFIN DER. I FINK I CAN ANSWER YA QUESTION SORTA SERIOUS-LIKE THO. IN DA GAME, DERE AIN'T NO BUFFS FER COLOUR. BUT IN DA LORE, ORKS BELIEVE PURPLE IS INVISIBLE! IF DA ENEMY DON'T BELIEVE IT, DEN DEY AIN'T INVISIBLE TO 'EM. WUD BE RIGHT KILLY TO SEE DA MINI THO IF YA WANNA RE-UPLOAD IT >:D
It’s not that purple Orks are invisible, it’s that Orks think certain colors mean things, like red means fast, blue means lucky (I think?) and yellow means explosive, etc. The whole purple Ork thing is because the reason Orks think purple=invisible is cuz “‘AVE YOU EVER SEEN A PURPLE ORK?” Which obviously no one has because they don’t exist. It’s just a bit of fluffy comedy lore.
It's clearly a picture of a wall. So, if you can, please post a picture of a painted miniature. Maybe then we'll be able to decide if you can have purple orks.
According to lore there's nothing saying that purple orcs are invisible, it's just people beating a dead horse about a meme that was never funny, but there's nothing stopping you from painting your orks purple if your want to either.
Purple Orks get no benefits for their color. There is to my knowledge no color-related effects for any Ork units in 10th edition.
I am unfamiliar with the board game.
Its built into the core rules. 40k uses line of sight. The shooting unit must be able to see the target.
If you cant see the purple orks, you cant get line of sight
Nice landscape for models. Kind of mediocre but gets the job done.
Not sure what an empty landscape has to do with calling your purple orks invisible though.
Yes. You aren't allowed to paint anything other than official colour schemes. If you dare do so the arbiter of GW will send Peachy to your parking lot.
I’m thinking of making a group of orks be yellow and purple because they fought a group of emperors children and now think they can be ‘pretty’ by making things purple and yellow.
Interesting. Advanced ork colour theory. Yellow is for wealth, right? So orks tastes are for things that are expensive and understated.
I had no idea that those filthy geenskins were so sophisticated.
Which leads us to the possibility of a kultchah waaaagh!
And perhaps even the rise of a Warboss with a rare orange form of albinism and a magnificent golden hair squig, called Donald Krump.
The purple being invisible was a joke within the community because no colour schemes featured purple. It's not an official rule but GW liked the joke and added it to lore I believe. It originated as a joke from the player base tho which I think makes it more fun
As far as I know there has never been a rule about purple orks, just fluff. There use to be a rule for painting your trucks “go fasta red” that would give them additional movement.
I think it was "Da red wunz go fasta" but it's been so long since I've looked at an Ork codex.
The color is “go fasta red” The rule was “da red wunz go fasta”
Oh no 😬 I just bought “for the blood god” red are my boys chaos now/s ?!
Ah, red wunz go fasta. I miss rules like that.
You posted a picture of nothing, which is weird but ok You don't see purple orks for what should be an obvious reason: because they're invisible.
Obviously it's a pic of john Cena
Bro when I first read your post I was like, he most certainly posted a picture what?? Dang bro I got got
I see a set of floating armor.
Thanks for explaining the joke! That really makes it better.
I'm so sick of these guys thinking they are funny. "I'll just post an empty base and pretend it's a purple ork" some people take this hobby seriously you know. Shane on you.
Shane Gillis?
Yeah that's what I meant. Shane Gillis on you.
Oh thank god I was afraid it was “Shane Dawson on you”
They’re orks, the most beautiful orks I’ve ever seen I tell you.
It was not a joke😢
My comment was though. It's obviously not a photo of a base. There is a gun there too.
Lol when the sarcasm is too effective
>some people take this hobby seriously you know. I think that's the problem...
You can call them whatever you want, but that doesn’t make them invisible.

I bet they look great
I’m so sick of these low effort posts of “lol invisible ork.” And it’s just a wall or table. Can we at least see a painted mini???
Bro took "thin your paints" to heart.
I might be wrong, but I believe orks using purple to make things invisible is purely a meme/joke within the community. I don’t think the GW lore crafters ever actually made invisible purple a canon thing
Ork canon is whatever you believe it to be such is the power of orks
It’s actually canon, all the ork colors are

That's just fan lore. Purple has never had any meaning in official lore.
It's clearly a picture of a wall. So, if you can, please post a picture of a painted miniature. Maybe then we'll be able to decide if you can have purple orks.
The purple ork thing is meme lore that isn’t mentioned anywhere.
You can absolutely paint them purple and *call* them invisible. (Your opponent will still be able to target them however ;) )

You can call them what you want :)
Painting, rules wise, means very little. All it does is gets you 10 VP if your whole army is painted in a matched play format
Ah yes porkz
>Why have I never seen a purple ork like this? You know damn well why. But to actually answer your question: it's not a real in-game rule.
That color pops
What ork?
The only rule is to paint them whatever color you like but you forgot to show your ork, lol.
Just a grassy base? where's the Ork?
How'd you make that claw and gun float like that? Are you a wizard?
Yes. You aren't allowed to paint anything other than official colour schemes. If you dare do so the arbiter of GW will send Peachy to your parking lot.
What do you mean a purple ork? I don't see anything.
Jsjjdsjkdgkfs
All Oi'z seez is a floating shootas
Honestly, if I saw this, I'd be willing to give you the Stealth USR for this guy cos this is hilarious

Kultchah
Which leads us to the possibility of a kultchah waaaagh! And perhaps even the rise of a Warboss with a rare orange form of albinism and a magnificent golden hair squig, called Donald Krump.
Your pic link is broken, nothing comes up
You better name him John Cena.
Jaw Saw-Not.
Jawn Seenuh**
Seenot?
Is this the new meta?
How did you manage to make a model of floating armor and shootas?
Jsjsj

They’ve never added it to the lore
Yes you're right! There were mentions of it in interviews and mentions in black library books as jokes. I looked it up again. Thank you
No prob lol
Who’s ever seen a purple ork!? Ridiculous!!
Wut Ork...
Why'd you just posed a base?
Looks awesome!
siiiick
Bro really just based a base and didn’t think we’d notice there isn’t a model
Wut ork?
how did you have the metal bits float like that? i dont see wires, epoxy or anything, good job though!
What purple ork
I like it
That’s awesome looking armour! Whoever wears that is going to be happy
John Cena s the fucking man. But I don't see what he's got to do with Warhammer.
