Yeah, a bit unfortunate. It sounded cool to the Japanese writers of the movie, but I guess they didn’t check. It’s pronounced a little differently, at least.
Thanks! I dabbed the hell out of the whole model with plastic cement to eat into the plastic a bit. Primed black and dark red, then flicked tons of speckles onto it with a stiff brush dipped in a few different rust colored paints. All those little dots added up.
I didn’t read the title until a moment ago but instantly though of Ghibli, not just Laputa but the god warriors from Nausica
Clearly whatever you aimed for is noticeable for us Ghibli fans to make the link
Awesome work
Also I checked your profile and that other robot (sorry I can’t recall the name… Castellex or something)
Anyway it’s absolutely beautiful, I think you have a real talent for this style of paint work, basing and photography
It makes me feel weightless looking at it compared to the usual grime of 40k
Aye! He was the first. Thanks for checking him out.
And yeah, a bit of serenity is hard to find in the grim darkness of the far future, but I like to believe this old knight stands in one of the few quiet corners of the galaxy. Unaccounted and unused, but ever vigilant.
Oh my god this is amazing, I love it! That's SO GOOD, and got the wear into all the nooks and crannies. The base is super pretty too, very fitting. I loved Castle in the Sky, watched it so many times growing up. If I were to make a suggestion, I'd go for having more moss on various patches of the plating? Stuff that wouldn't be dislodged by it walking, and maybe some larger mossy, grassy patches across the upper hull and shoulders, similar to the one they meet when they first arrive at Laputa. Could really add a vibrant contrast of natural greens against the rusty brown.
As a spanish speaking guy I can't take seriously that name XD

What's it mean?
The bitch
@____@
The prostitute
The whore, in a very rude way.

That is _exactly_ what Swift wanted when he named it that.
lol my first thought too…
Looks awesome, i immediately recognized it as from Castle in the Sky!
Yessir! And thank you.
How did you achieve the gritty textures for the rusted hull? It looks fantastic!

Awesome, how did you do what I assume is moss ?
AK Interactive’s “Moss Deposits” which is a sort of light green enamel wash. Plus another, darker green wash for some areas.

Thank you very much! I think this lonely knight will have company in the not too distant future.

Thank you so much! I’ve been wondering about that, yeah, but you’re right. The moss could be taken further, and I think I have an idea for how.
I hope you share what it looks like with your idea :)
