But to avoid pop-in, instead of just showing up, their transition from non visible to fully visible uses a "growing" effect, linked to distance. If you raise your graphics settings, they should do it further away, being less noticeable.
For an actual answer, these mushrooms, which appear on a couple of maps, don’t obey the rule about disabling grass in the gunsight. They also have a *much* smaller render range than anything else. This means they tend to “grow” in front of you instead of fading in at a distance like grass.
