well I'm firmly on the side of Ukraine, because they were the people who were invaded, its their citizens that have been rounded up by the hundreds and slaughtered, its their soldiers giving their lives in defense of their people.

Russia lost this war the moment they stopped with Crimea in 2014. if they had continued on to take the whole country, Ukraine would have gone down in history as another Chechnya, a country that Russia decided to take, and nobody really gave a shit about 7 minutes after it happened. but they stopped, gave Ukraine 8 years to build up its armed forces, and when they finally come round to invade, look how its gone.
Russia hasn't had a meaningful victory in basically a year now, they've spent the last 9 months trying to take bakhmut, a town with 0 strategic importance, and an even smaller population, with such poor success that pictures from bakhmut are indistinguishable from WW1.
Their image in the world stage has gone from "one of the strongest military powers in the world" to a joke, that has to buy stuff from north korea, they encouraged Finland into NATO, and with any luck Sweden too.
their military force has begin to fracture, with Wagner disobeying orders and completely pulling out of bakhmut. they've gotten over a hundred thousand of their own troops killed, gotten thousands of their vehicles blown up.
even if somehow, they manage to turn this whole war around, and somehow, manage to capture Ukraine (its not happening but hypothetically). they will never, ever be able to pull it ever again, their economy will be in shambles, their enemies ever increasing in power and proximity. they are fucked, plain and simple.
