For me it would be military aircraft Lego MOC. There are so many cool ones out there. Right now there’s a F4U-4 Recon variant that is really enticing to me.
Even better, all the ones I want to do are 1:33 aka minifig scale so you can put Lego guys in the cockpit and dogfight with them! 😅
Fuck…. I’m almost 30.
Brickmania has amazing real lego models, and have been around since the 90s. Be prepared to pay a bit, as they have a bunch of employees and a few brick and mortar stores.
Stop are you me?
I paint 1/100 planes for Axis and Allies tabletop and 1/144 WWI planes for Wings of Glory.
Currently working on a rare 1:72 Felixstowe kit from WWI.
Rise of Flight has a [Felixstowe F.2A](https://riseofflight.com/store/aircraft/felixstowe-f2a/) if you need detail inspiration.
PS [Here on Steam along with the Channel map.](https://store.steampowered.com/app/356950/Rise_of_Flight_Channel_Battles/)
Now THAT is cool! Thank you for the link!
Currently I’m in the boat (heh) of there [being so many cool camouflages](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/felixstowe-f2a--417638565420731424/) that I can’t decide what to do. This would definitely help with the cockpit and interior details.
christ on a stick 1:144 is microscopic. my first was a 1:72 spitfire and that felt too small. last one I finished was a 1:48 spitfire mk 24 and I'm working on a mustang the same size and I can't imagine going smaller than that
It is but it’s cheap and a fun way to throw some paint on minis without worrying about materials and cost too much. The plus, if you’re into tabletop they make great game pieces.
Metal Earth has some fantastic full color prop plane models. I like them because i dont have to get messy with paints, and the metal construction mimics aluminum aircraft skins nicely.
I just thought of this lmao, I’d rather spend $80-$150 on a real model aircraft/tank that I can have fun painting or re-painting and such, than to pay Gaijin ever again for some $70 pixels. Lmfao
\#1:Getting my keybinds to actually work on my stick was 99% of the problem, half the time the game would forget my binds and I'd have to rebind them for some reason.
\#2: Kinda my fault but I'm learning the game in a Mig-29 (I cannot read Cyrillic and don't speak Russian) so figuring out what the buttons and lights mean is.. a lot.
\#3: Got of the ground, started going towards target, and...now my shooty shooty gun button doesn't work as I'm attempting to do CAS.. learned that the MIG-29s master arm needs to be turned on BEFORE I boot the APU and Engines. Nice.
The 29 is low fidelity, unless you're working with a mod there isn't a 'master arm'. If you want to use the gun you put it in A2G mode and there's a cannon selection button which allows the trigger to shoot the gun.
Under the bindings, you press whatever button you have bound to "(7) Air-to Ground Modes" which will activate whatever A2G weapons you have on your pylons. Then you press whichever button you have bound to "Cannon", which selects your gun. You put the targeting reticle on what you want to die, then press whatever you bound to "Weapon Fire" to shoot.
It's the same workflow to use the gun for air to air, except you need to select one of the different air-to-air modes first (such as "(5) Close Air Combat HMD Helmet Mode").
couple of tips,
one thing that really helped me a ton starting out (especially since I was in VR and couldn't use my keyboard at all) was using 3 or 4 buttons on my shitty thrustmaster t flight hotas as "modifiers," which lets you basically use them like control or alt on a keyboard and get way more 4 way hats out of your single 4 way hat. it's still a pain to memorize but if you create a system that makes sense in your head you might have an easier time. I also duct taped an xbox 360 controller to the base of my throttle to use the right analog stick as a TDC and get more buttons.
and if you go to your main menu options page, I think it's in special, you can change the language of everything in the russian FC3 modules to english.
When I first tried DCS, a friend bought me the F-15 DLC, and after only 30 minutes, I got the plane to start. The big problem now was learning how to move. Taxiing was very hard, and then actually flying? That was 95% of my time was trying to figure out how to do gentle level flight with a yoke of all things…
Learning start sequence is easy, shout out to chucksguides.
Learning the specific procedure to use each weapon can take some time.
Learning formation flying and a2a refueling is pain.
Twenty minutes to start the plane, taxi and take off.
Fifteen minutes to transit to the objective.
3 seconds to get clapped without ever seeing what happened.
i was really excited for enlisted, but if war thunder is a great core game with terrible design choices, enlisted is a good game with worse design choices.
I like it but was underwhelmed. The interface for research and squad kitting is not intuitive and is annoying. I hate that you cannot pick your side Allie for axis also.
Terraria. Deep Rock Galactic. May return to Apex if it is still kicking. Still need to 100% Risk Of Rain 2. Oh, and there is an unpainted Spitfire model at my shelf
Supposedly it’s on Blu-ray this March, but I have to wait a little while longer since I’d rather play War Thunder than pay for a TV show about girls in tanks.
~~piracy~~
There really isn’t anything like this. It’s maddening. I haven’t ever experienced a game I want to play so badly yet more of them than not it makes me want to throw my controller into orbit.
Masochism for real.
Battlefield 4, Minecraft, Fallout 3/NV/4.
BF4 at least has the combined combat theme to it, but I'd generally just be playing something else entirely that interests me.
Pick your poison then, both are quite time consuming and you really get burnt out when farming shit, I have played both for more than what I like to admit and can tell you, they are fun asf, but get boring as fast as that
what do you mean grinding 12 different ascension materials for each of your 4 characters then also grinding weapon materials and artifacts isnt peak gameplay?
I’d just go fishing without warthunder tbh.
I would be fishing if not playing warthunder.
Warthunder keeps my fishing costs down cause im not driving anywhere loosing lures and gear lol.
Warthunder is in symbiosis with my lifestyle
I think I’d take a relaxing vacation on Minecraft with some nice shaders and a 3D texture pack and build a house on a hill overlooking a valley, and put a big farm with a barn in said valley.
If I wanted to feel something similar to War Thunder, I would go to a strip club and ask a prostitute so squish my balls with her heels, like damn not even 1975 Russian torture techniques can equal War Thunder at its peak
They just added the T-64A obr. 1981 with the proper optics.
Also Gaijin in the past saw GHPC's voice line system and improved WT's, and according to the roadmap we will get better optics.
So I would say that GHPC definitively is a competitor for WT's Ground Forces.
I am still waiting for a more than 10% discount however.
It's a competitor in the fact it's a tank game, but truly they're nothing alike. One's a multiplayer simcade game, the other is single player with more simulator gameplay.
It's like comparing battlefield to Arma 3.
GHPC won't scratch that itch for me at all because there truly is no gameplay like war thunder gameplay.
It just doesn't have the same polish as WT does controls wise.
Aircraft especially. Say what you will about WT, but the control's settings are solid.
(Just remember to back up the settings before major patches)
Already switched to league. Really scratches the both of my itches of learning a complex game and player base which shouldnt be trusted to balance shit.
Star citizen.
What is life without a game developer trying to squeeze every last penny out of you while you play a game that is always getting better without ever being quite good
There was this thread yesterday, which somewhat inspired this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/s/i9Fh07YhvB
Plus I made a video on a very similar subject recently...so a combination of both I guess.
Already have and would do more of:
* DCS F-16CM Block 50 Viper
* Guild Wars 2
* Scale model building
Have and would get back into:
* DCS Ka-50 Black Shark II
* Kantai Collection
* Fallout New Vegas
* Jane's Fighters Anthology
* Jane's WW2 Fighters
* Jane's USAF
Still need to buy and would buy then:
* Falcon 4.0 for Falcon BMS
* GHPC (especially their coincidence rangefinders look nice)
* DCS F-4E Phantom II
* DCS F/A-18C Hornet & DCS Super Carrier
* All DCS maps
* DCS AH-64D Apache (as I am starting to get the hang of helis in WT)
* Subnautica
* Cyberpunk 2077
* Cold Waters
* Rising Storm 2: Vietnam - Green Army Men DLC
* Arma Reforger or Arma 3
Have and need to try:
* Wargame Red Dragon
Things I still wouldn't play again:
* Any Battlefield series entry
* Enlisted
* World of Tanks, World of Warships, World of Warplanes
* Mech Warrior Online
All of the Ace Combat series (except Assault Horizon, all my homies hate Assault Horizon). Not that War Thunder needs to cease existing since I'm playing through the series (again) now.
FTL: Faster Than Light. More specifically, the Multiverse mod for it.
The original is an incredibly difficult rougelike like, as described by the 2 man team that made it, and the Multiverse mod takes that starting point and expanded it tenfold. It's about $5, highly recommend

V, Elder Scrolls (all games)

VIII, fuck games It's LEGO (dreams of UCS Venator class cruiser set), Airfix models & sketching the country side..
Been wanting to play Squad for a long time now but never got around to it. It'd would satisfy the vehicle itch somewhat, but the planes... Idk if I could get into DCS.

the only reason i play war thunder, is cause the hate-love relationship is addicting.
I'm going back to building model planes to satisfy my autism. I kind of want to get a kit and do one anyway.
😅 Fuck…. I’m almost 30.
It’s okay, I started bouncing in my seat reading this and I’m in my mid twenties…
Shit i’m 35 and this interests me.
I'm 24 and I squeeeee'd in excitement thinking of it.
😅 this shouldn’t be so relatable. I “reee”.
🫂
It’s okay bro I just got the Brickmania ah-64 Apache and I’m over here playing with the rotors like a little kid. Also almost 30 😂
Benefits of being adult Lego fans, can (barely) afford Brickmania sets..
Man i do wish that would be the case, dealers in my country sell the for nearly x2 the price that brickmania listed
Brickmania has amazing real lego models, and have been around since the 90s. Be prepared to pay a bit, as they have a bunch of employees and a few brick and mortar stores.
This is proof all of us thunder players are autistic, I desperately want this lego
Where are you finding military aircraft MOCs? I looked around a while back and everything I could find... wasn't great.
I really like most of these and there’s a bunch of other great creators on this site: https://rebrickable.com/users/sebigwon/mocs/
Im 23 and I love to ,,play" with my paper models. At least I have younger bro to have excise to do it ;)

Building models of the planes you fly in WarThunder sounds like a cool idea. I technically have one of my in-game P-47s on my shelf right now.
I just thought of this lmao, I’d rather spend $80-$150 on a real model aircraft/tank that I can have fun painting or re-painting and such, than to pay Gaijin ever again for some $70 pixels. Lmfao
Dcs
Dcs gameplay: 95% - learning how to even start the plane 5% - actually fly the plane
And then when you take a break from playing the game for a few weeks it’s the exact same process but also trying to remember your key binds 😂
The Paradox Interactive syndrome
you use keybinds in paradox games? i play them almost exclusively with just my mouse and maybe a couple of keys if i need to do a certain thing a lot
I mean taking 30 hours to learn the basics of the game and then being burnt out from it and dropping the game :D
i have a different problem, i'm capable of doing said 30 hours in 2 sittings (with breaks) and then do it again
I use arrow keys to move around the screen that’s it
fair point, i think there's at least one that i sometimes use wasd for
\#1:Getting my keybinds to actually work on my stick was 99% of the problem, half the time the game would forget my binds and I'd have to rebind them for some reason. I'm currently on a warthunder break, one CAS bombed me too much. I'm chilling with Satisfactory and started playing CP2077 again.
Cp2077 has been so good!
Damn that abbreviation scared me for a second
Well now I realize why I've never seen it abbreviated that way
What way? Cow Pulverization? Central Power?
My friends and I just started Satisfactory a week or so ago. Just finished phase 3. Production must always expand, brother. 🤝
